If the demon wants to teach us, then we can accept it, given the danger we are in. The main thing is to survive and not let the demon lead us by the nose for a long time.

"My you are a studious one aren't you, talented too. Most of your kind would be gibbering messes by now." You ignore the voice.
"Sheev, Sheev, ignoring me isn't going to help you at all. You are being wasted here. What are you doing? Trying to limit yourself so the mortals wouldn't be as scared of you? Ridiculous, absolutely ridiculous. You were born to rule the warp with an iron grasp and you are sitting here, in some ruined out hab block, learning to meditate." You ignore the voice.
"I can help you you know? Even if you aren't quite ready to master this planet yet. I can teach you how to hide the soul flame, how to tread the currents of the empyrean, i can teach you everything. You just have to say so." You ignore the voice
"Ah, a self made man aren't you? Don't want to rely on others, is that it? I get it, I've seen many like you, they either burn out or burn bright, often both. So if direct tutelage isn't what you want, there is something else i can offer: Silence. I can silence all of us, all the voices that whisper to you. I will let you sleep again. Just say the word" You ign-
No, you do not ignore the voice again. It's offer, there isn't anything wrong with that right? It is offering silence with nothing in return. But why would the haunter offer silence? Perhaps it's a good one? No that is ridiculous, it is tricking you. Is it?
I like the cut of this guys jib

[X]Stay silent, the whispers remain

[X] Plan: Palpaplan
-[X]Scavenge food: The few thrones in your pocket won't last more than a few days and gainful employment is impossible. Try to find anything you can eat.
-[X]Control your powers: right now the power you wield feels out of control, like a grox being barely caged. Try to gain control of it.
-[X]Listen to the whispers: Far, farther than possible come whispers. They tell of terrible secrets and worse promises. Listen to them.

Always ask your self "what would Palpatine do?"
The answer is take the power.

Seev doesn't know. Seev didn't even know that that was something that happened.

OOC:There are myriad reasons why a high grade psyker might be fed to the golden throne.
You denied yourself glory, accolades and the purity that comes in service to his Holyness. You denied yourself all that on a mere vision, perhaps you could go back, claim that you panicked?
Yeah I assume Seev have very rose tinted view on life of psykers.

Because their lot is afull in Imperium as people see them as mutants not deserving to live.

His future teachers would see his ability to free think and set out to crush it untill idea of defending himself from mundames (even those outside his chain of command) mistreating him would cause him phantom pain from memory.

But if Seev is strong willed enought they couldnt break/mold him like fast enought and problem is he his strong.

And so pushing psyker for long time without breaking him to your will cause problems proportional to their strenght and distress.

So his future teachers couldf after time decide they cant breake him into servitute fast enought while they need to keep his powers locked up.

And if they cant make him serve under their orders he isnt worth keeping around so off to Golden Grinder he goes to feed his soul to their every hungry god.

"Leave" Your words are quiet yet they ring out with power, echoing across the dimension from which the mind haunters come.
"Attaboy, i knew you would see reason." The haunter cackles" Alright then you louts, scram!" for a moment the whispers become louder, then they become screams before descending into full battle and leaving you reeling on the hab ruins floor. After a seemingly endless barrage of psychic agony there is only silence, comforting and complete. You stay down for a few moments, basking in the silence.
With the voices banished you stand up and take a few tentative steps, hearing no insults or whispers of temptation you begin to celebrate your release from the torment of the mind haunters. Like a madman you cackle and dance before laying down to finally get some true sleep, it's the first true sleep you've had in weeks.
(Trait gained: "The whisper's silence X/X". The denizens of the otherwhere no longer haunt your mind. Controlling your power is now easier. -20 to all psychic phenomena rolls)

Continuing your meditational exercises continue to bear fruit, each day your souls dims just a bit more. It seems your first strides were your greatest as the progress you make now seems almost painfully slow compared to how you started. Slow progress is still progress and by weeks end your eyes are no longer clouded by the sight of your own soul, blinding in its brilliance. With complete sight restored you can finally gaze upon the world properly again and what you see is quite informative.
The world around you is clearer and more...more, the greys and browns of the undercity somehow have more hues than before, the sounds are fuller and simply contain depths that you could never name but would never want to be without.
You also notice the people of the undercity, their souls more specifically. They are so...meek, flickering and smoldering, barely even alive. It would take so little to snuff one out if one knew how to do it.
(Trait gained: Rudimentary Control Presence III/X: When given time to meditate and calm down you can mostly keep your soul under control.)
(Trait gained: Witchsight II/X: With your Sight unburdened by the brilliance of your soul you can see world better than you ever did before gaining your powers)

Throughout the week you also renew your attempts at controlling the power welling from your soul, your previous attempts had not gone well, the tree which you destroyed still smells of rot and mold. Nevertheless you persist in your efforts, this time taking a different approach inspired by your meditational exercises. Instead of trying to push down the power welling up from your soul, you direct it, letting a small trickle of power flow from your body out into the environment.
The exercises prove quite useful, leaving you much more stable both mentally
(Trait gained: Rudimentary Control Power I/X: The likelihood of your powers simply exploding uncontrollably is significantly lower.)

Returning to the ruins you call home after finding a few scraps of food, your sight shows you that there is someone inside the ruins, five souls, one much brighter yet than the others, sneaking close you notice that they seem to be gangers, sporting the fashionable Mohawks of their kind, one of them seems mutated, gills sprouting from his cheeks whilst his soul burns brighter than the rest though still a fraction of your own brilliance.
"This was the place right Cheeks?" Their seeming leader says, his body bulky and veins jutting from his skin like red lines on a canvas of flesh.
"Yes, this is where the i saw him going in the man's mind." The gilled one states, their tone dead and their voice phlegmy "But why did you have to beat him? He gave us answers and didn't even lie"
"He was an uppity shit, i had to show him that he needed to respect me, now then, Can anyone see the prize?"
The gangers search the hab ruins for some time, you could swear that the gilled one spots you but he doesn't mention anything.
"Anybody found him?" The leader says in a deadpan. The three other gangers respond with a chorus of no:s
"Well you louts are fucking useless, Cheeks, couldn't you like, i dunno, find him with your mind powers?"
"As i said boss, i cannot find him unless he is within a few feet of me. Hes probably somewhere else. Besides, are we sure this is a good idea? he escaped the blackcoats. Is trying to capture him really smart"
"You talking back to me you lout? WHO'S THE BOSS?" The musclebound ganger yells at the psyker.
"You are, boss" the gillfaced man says, unfazed.
"That's right, I'm the boss and I say we can take 'im. we took down badder bitches than anyone else, well be fine. And the payment was too good to pass up just 'cus you are a little shit who fears his own shadow." The gill faced ganger mutters something in response but doesn't speak up.

What do you do?
