"Who Wants To Be The Demon King"

[X] Daisy

[X] You want to no longer have to hide from Men. To no longer live in the shadows and pretend to be something you're not. You want to be able to walk down the streets and not worry that someone might see through your disguise; or to be able to push back against those who think themselves stronger than you without holding yourself back; or to be caught staring at a wolf-folk's neck and not have to make up excuses. You are a Demon of the Vampire Clan - a beautiful and powerful Predator of Men - and you're tired of having to pretend that you are anything less.

Wool Magic seems like a great counter to our Sunlight Weakness. In an emergency, just expand that Wool to shield us from the Sun.

Though, is our wool also weak to sunlight? If so, we might need to expand our control beyond our own body before we can rely on it

[X] You want to be the Demon King out of spite, mostly. People have looked down on and abused you throughout much of your life, but no more. This is your chance to not only never be looked down on again (barring going in disguise) but to show the world that you are not only the equal of those prattling fools who looked down on you, but their superior. You will show them, you will show them all! Muahahahaha!

[X] You don't want to be helpless, or to have to pretend to be helpless. You want to be mighty and proud and self sufficient and you want that for deamonkind too. You're willing to wait, willing to spy, willing to pretend to be prey and maybe you'll keep doing that sometimes if you become the deamon king… but you dream of not having to in order to survive. You've learned how to hide… now you want to stop hiding.

[X] It is an immutable rule of the universe that for one to rise, another must be brought down. This is well known by Vampires and Beastfolk both. For a prey beastfolk vampire such as yourself, that simple fact was engraved down to your very marrow. And races of Man have been putting down demons for more than long enough. If it was finally time to rise, you are ready to rise to the very top! And none of the others have your perspective nor your thirst to ascend that came from firsthand experience of being at the very bottom!

[X] You want to create a future where strength is decided by what you do, not by how you were born. You never want to be pitied, never again.

[X] Fate has given you the gift of fear, and you will spread that gift. Not the the powerful's fear of losing their station, not the mighty's fear of defeat in battle. Your fear is the fear of the woods, the wolf, and the sky, and you will carry that fear where it belongs.
The powerful believe themselves above such concerns. They could not imagine how the taste of the dirt, the fear of the hunt, and the dark of the woods stretch longer when you are weak.
They think themselves untouchable.
You disagree.

[X] YOUR IMAGE OF THE FUTURE IS A DAINTY HOOF! STAMPING ON THE EMPEROR KING'S FACE -FOREVER!!!- (OR AS LONG AS DARK MAGIC ALLOWS)

Okay... hear me out... we should play Miss Hardhoof as a physical enhancer.

a) we come baked in with broad-spectrum physical enhancements. We're fast, strong, and tough.
b) we have enhanced senses, specifically threat precognition. They don't seem honed to be combat useful right now but I bet we could get them there.
c) we already control our body to a significant degree. We control our blood and our wool. We can make the wool into natural armor to prevent damage and use blood magic to heal damage that we take.
d) necromancy controls dead bones... maybe it doesn't do this now but we are dead and so are our bones. We should be able to control them!
e) where is a vampire less dangerous than hand-to-hand combat? We have a wildly deadly weapon build into our face. We should try to use it as much as possible.
f) we are small and cute and non-threatening. it is both hilarious for us to be a stacked physical powerhouse and also likely that we can charm people into letting us get close enough to strike.

Eh, the bone idea is a bit weird but I'm all for the general vibe. Tiny physical powerhouses (magic enhanced or otherwise) is one of my favorite character archetypes.

As an idea, we can use the wool magic to justify our strength. Train it to use as armor and strength augmentation and claim that. Then we can find a village "oppressed" by some predators and beat them up. Credit our wool magic and we might get an Infamous Deed out of it.

Would that work as an Infamous Deed or do they need to be evil? @KittyEmpress do you want to weigh in?

Hmm, I think we want to establish a calling card. Just one drawback of being a sheep is that we will be somewhat easier to recognize. So having a calling card would help us gain notoriety without revealing too much early on. My thoughts is maybe stringing up out victims? Shouldn't be too hard to do with wool magic and if we do it often enough.

As for progression, I think just about everything sounds good but I don't want to do conventional necromancer skeletons and zombies. Necrocraft abominations which mix wool, blood, and death magic is fun.

As for votes. A stupid reference to Worm and my favorite variation of the general motivation vibe. I like that it makes us proud of what we are.

For the minion enjoyers, Necromancy + Wool sounds like the recipe for Evil Dolls and other cloth-based horrors
DOLLS FULL OF BLOOD! DOLLS WITH BONES!!

What's a hero to do, when a bunch of these show up, giggling evilly, before violently disgorging blood everywhere.

We could have the murder-dolls have some sort of symbol on them, that people would come to associate with the creator of the killer dolls, and get our notoriety that way. Heck, the picture I just used has one on the bunny ear.

Infamous deeds must, in some way, be infamous. Heroes can grow from Glorious Deeds, but demons grow from their Infamy, not their Glory. You're stuck being evil for the most part, and playing against thst means less access to Demonic Power and Infamous deeds.

This isn't to say you can't do acts that Help people in an Infamous way - brutally eviscerating a camp of bandits to save their kidnapped victims, accepting no quarter as you tear them to shreds would be an Infamous Deed that Helped People.

But you felt even more out of place now, here in the ruins of the old Demon King's castle. You knew you weren't weak, that you weren't some pushover anymore. But some part of you felt a panic as you looked through the crowd. Oni standing twice as tall as you with clubs wider than your entire torso, Maou whose magic was so thick it coated them like an aura, the Gnolls resting with their monstrous pets, and more. It was hard to calm your heart as you just looked around, your refined sense as Prey lighting up at all of the dangerous creatures around you. Your own 'parents' were watching the surroundings with just as much trepidation, though you could only see it due to how well you knew them. This panic only became worse as you were floated into the air by a crone's magic.

[X] Who says unending vigilance and panic is a bad thing? There is no bigger rush out there in the world than the sheer joy of trepidation that comes with being prey! Living in fear is the only way to truly live! This is a gift we need to bring to the world! All creatures no matter their strength, wealth, intelligence, loyalties or talents should constantly experience the thrill that comes with the dreadful vulnerability of whether every present moment will be their last! As Demon King, eternal dread is the gift that we will bring to the world's inhabitants! May all become prey!
