Threads Of Destiny(Eastern Fantasy, Sequel to Forge of Destiny)

Voted best in category in the Users' Choice awards.
They cycle units in and out of active warfronts, mate. War's going to continue the conflict for a long while but after a certain point they'll let active participants go back to friendly territories to recover.

Best to try to prevent problems from popping up on the homefront while we go off to the battlefronts.

Sure, but that just means there's always going to be an upcoming war arc to prepare for. Using the argument that we want to do this after the war arc when we have more time assumes we won't be rotated back in.

Yeah, and it's better to do it after rotating out right after active service rather than doing it right before heading off into the battlefields. We have a lot of time between deployment you know.

"Sparkles pretty. Spikyes bad. Sister swish like a pretty fairy, not jingle jangle."

Little one right. Spikey bad. Jingle No good. More sparkles, better ribbons. More swish. Like boots?
Biyu has discovered she can change Qi's attire by chatting at her dress. Such power.
.
"And I suppose ironclad certainty that we are immune to famine for now does have a way of boosting people's mood," Ling Qi mused. What a strange idea to entertain. That situations like hers could have been erased by even a slight exertion of effort from the rulers of Tonghou. She'd seen the cost of importing grains to fill the granary for the first year, even extrapolating out to a much higher population…

Well, even her Ling clan could afford that, without much difficulty.
The bigger it gets the more wastage, the more middlemen getting their cut and the less likely someone squeezing out some savings care that theres not enough food on the fringes.

"Yes," Ling Qi agreed. "I was very certain I could remove us before things got dangerous if need be. My trials and journeys have given me a lot of practice."

"I am certain you were," Cai Renxiang replied.

She furrowed her brow at her friend, there was no need to sound so doubtful. She wasn't that bad about risk.

Cai Renxiang held her gaze without blinking, utterly expressionless.

Ling Qi huffed and looked away toying with one of her temporary braids. Well she'd forgive Renxiang, since she was still flustered by the incident with the General. Instead of furthering a silly argument she looked back over her shoulder as the sleeves of her gown ballooned out slowly growing into the sort of lace filled hand swallowing monstrosities that the most conservative of court ladies wore.
Renxiang is understandably worried about LQ.

"Well inform me soon. You are on light duty yet, so there is no conflict. I do need to know if an expedition is being made."

"Understood Lady Cai."

+1 XP to Choice, +1 XP Community
Seeing these go up is always nice, I like how LQ can sometimes get Concept XP through conversations.

"I thought you must have been being imprecise, referring to a household on the grounds," Ling Qingge sighed, pinching the bridge of her nose. "Oh goodness, I am not qualified at all to train staff for a role like this…"

"You are mother," Ling Qi said bluntly. "Do you think I have not scene what you've put your stipend towards, the books and scrolls and observations of the modern court fashions and ettiquette? You've been much more dedicated to learning this than I."
Qingge has worked hard to educate herself about this kind of thing.

"May I ask after your… fashion choice by the way, Ling Qi?" Her Mother asked, glancing at her with an uncertain look.

Ling Qi sighed. Her hair curled and looped through a silver circlet, a glittering pale blue veil hung over her face, a high collar rose behind her head, black silk stretched between stiffer 'ribs arranged like icicles, even her hands were covered by soft silk evening gloves disappearing beneath her silver chased sleeves, the jangled with metallic icicle charms.

"...Just fulfilling a promise to try new things," Ling Qi said.
LQ has changed through her experiences.

Protection II->Protection III- To protect is ever an act of balance, choice and control, risk and safety, survival and happiness. There is no perfect protection, only painful balance.
I really love how this relates to the courage and choice concepts.

Labyrinthian Geomancy: Even with the turmoil in the western fens, the Meng clan does not shirk its deals. The services of a master geomancer you were promised, and the services of a Master Geomancer you shall receive. GEOMANCY!!!

River God's Envy
Once, the kin of Rivers could see the sky, could climb, could leap, could become kin of dragons, those days had long since passed, ancient in memory before ever great Tsu drew breath. Yet still one remembered. O scion of Kings and Gods, clad in their shadow and graveshroud, what have you that is your own? What is yours which is not mere echo and shadow? So spake Tsu as Great Jing rose against him, in all of its fury. Advances and Streamlines Beast King's Savage Dirge, unlocking new. Locks in Exploration of Cathedral of Winds. +1 XP to Power, Expression, Creation.
This is a really cool art and covers some neat concepts.

[X] Labyrinthian Geomancy

I really want to choose Geomancy for once.

When have we ever been scared of conflict? The RKE will experience much more refinement during the war than outside it. Meanwhile, learning Geomancy has a good possibility of directly helping in the War.

Then people should have taken the time to learn more of Geomancy a long time ago instead of trying to learn it at the last minute before heading off into war with last minute scraps.

War isn't starting next month, we're just attending the Wedding and doing Politics in Tree Land for a while. War isn't until late spring/early summer I think.

It's a bit restrictive to argue formation would not useful for war arc especially since this would advance our liminal capabilities which was what LQ used for her biggest combat contribution. There is also the synergy with discussing these lessons when we just healed from the miracle we pulled with general.
my main concern is what kind of risk would we be leaving behind if we leave behind cathedral of winds . i cant remember where we got info on that can some one link me threadmarks where we explored those sites before if you remeber
