100,000 Strong Astartes chapters as a baseline? am I reading this wrong? how have the imperium not conquered the galaxy in this TL, during the Great Crusade most Legions were between 100-200 thousand strong and they conquered the galaxy.

The knight STC kinda seems low value compared to all the options. Aren't knights picky on pilots? Id imagine that would just bottleneck them

40k, despite using big numbers a lot, does not actually use big enough numbers in regards to Galactic Conquest or inter-planetary warfare.

Sci-fi authors, no sense of scale, etc etc.

Space Marines are not cool enough as that 1000 of them could make any meaningful impact on any properly scaled, planetary war. The new 100k Astartes chapters have the same impact canon claims them to have, but now they are a bit more scale resistant.

The Legions were obviously 100 times their og size as well.

I'd go with personal weapon upgrades even one for Space Marines, but Primaris Marines are about to be a thing, and they come with a serious tech upgrade. So Gates to get around the warp storms, more ships to travel through and move the gates, and mass producing Knights to act as Sergeants, and lieutenants to our Drone armies. Honestly if were doing anything for Imp Guard it should be mass producing tanks, apc, super tanks, arty, AA, and etc. llso we should wait for examples of the real high end stuff to mass produce like grav weapons, rapid fire stable plasma, etc.
 
Having the OSH prepped as a precision tacteam and skilled security force, trained and equipped to UEF tier-one ability - well, that just makes good sense. They won't be able to compete with the Astartes on a personal scale, but that's what Astartes are for.

Expanding the gate network just makes sense - The ACU wants to be where the ACU needs to be. Whether the Imperium becomes desperate enough to risk the wrath of the Navis to ship their stuff too is gonna be a matter of politics and not-our-problem. Well, unless Revy decides to make it her problem.

As far as ground combat goes, we have the absolute edge. Anyone not Tyranic is going to struggle to adapt to UEF auto-warfare - as long as we can maintain support to us. That support means the Imperial Navy - getting them on-side and firmly equipped is all for the good.

Oh, and I want to see Revy see some shit that really pushes how much worse this galaxy is than she realizes. Orks are orks - they're weird and they play slightly weird games with reality, but they aren't horrifying.

So this setup builds up our auxiliaries into a potent fighting force capable of supporting Revy in the field.

Nun with guns and Knights both fill different niches and it seems wise to cover both.

Picking Clad along with this ought to have some great synergy since both options require manufacturing. (OTOH the all in on Clad pick would be Knights and Mass Production).

So all in all this will give a solid foundation.

Imagine every canon problem the Imperium faces, but with a 10X modifier for the bare minimum. That's how more space marines keep the vibe.

The Drop Site Massacre concentrated large amounts of twelve Legions into a density of force that hundreds of thousands were basically fighting in a mosh pit a few square kilometers in size.

This timeline has alot more giant infantry scrums during the Heresy, which didn't help the replacement problem.

Old knights are picky because the psychic imprint of all the previous pilots are stuck being ghosts in the machine and can get uppity. Brain-meltingly uppity in some cases.
A new build does not have that problem.

These are the original, dark age colony utility STCs yoinked from the deepest recesses of Absoloms mind. They don't come with any weapons or void shields, you'll need to get those from elsewhere, but I can assure you they are quite neat.
