Threads Of Destiny(Eastern Fantasy, Sequel to Forge of Destiny)

Voted best in category in the Users' Choice awards.
I feel like Cai Ren is gonna be in shock when she next sees us.
We went on a dream adventure, and not only did we not almost die, but actually healed from it.

I imagine Ren's got the army ready for whatever great plot Ling Qi will obviously uncover because that's what she does.

What's that? It is unreasonable to shrug off sovereign level conceptual attacks at mere Green? Pathetic. Here, this art should help with your severe lack of skill.

When you're Ling Qi trying to stop using Wood because it's not "fitting":

Wood Qi: "I Persist."

Water Qi: "You'll never be rid of us."

Honestly though it's great seeing Wood come back as evergreens conceptualization to work with ice. Like meeting an old friend you drifted away from.

Yes, I remember the old arguments that Wood Qi did not really fit, and I agreed, especially in the old form of basically a huge ancient unbending tree, but this new theme of persistence, of new growth raising even out of a broken stump, of new shoots raising up from old widespread roots in a different place even if everything above is obliterated fits Ling Qi to a T, far better than bottomless lake is.

The homeless girl clinging to life, the underdog who had to hide and sneak out in the night at the sect less she be attacked, the green speck clinging to life among a clash of Violets… this is not a bottomless lake, this is a persistent sprout refusing to die.

Let alone that Ling Qi's understanding of Endings is cyclical, of dying things giving place for new life. That this life can carry legacy of previous one fits perfectly as well.

I am really intrigued to see just which Art we will get and/or develop out of this.

Well, violets--if they were prisms i'm pretty sure ling qi and the summit and maybe also the meng would all be dead :p Even aside from the greater levels of collateral damage, "a meng prism" means "the (p/m)atiarch or maybe another 'sleepy elder' (as yrsillar put it once)" and thats... a really fucking big deal

…oops, my bad.
Was thinking about the Sect Head before that and was not paying attention.

I thought Ling Qi was supposed to learn some gate-dream art and use this knowledge to create spiritual defence/wall for Shengu and her house.
Is this project still on ?

Wasn't there also talk of using this new knowledge to change starless night reflexion to shifting attack damage to the luminal. Do we abandon it for the new art ? Or do we do both (one for phisical defence and the other for spiritual defence)? Or do we merge them (names: Endless dream forest/The Dark woods) ?

I believe all that is still happening and the results will be next post or thereabouts?

This update was amazing. I'm itching to see what the Persistence based defense art will look like.

Now, onto the fief plan.

This turn is not the time to do Granary.

Our highest priority is to get Walls manned with Cultivator Manpower as soon as possible. In particular, that must be achieved before the war arc starts.

The most critical part of that is the Cultivator Manpower, because it's entirely up to chance.
Just like how we failed to get one this turn, it's perfectly plausible that for us to keep botchering the rolls and failing to get one until the war starts.

For that reason, maximazing the probability of getting the CMP is of paramount importance.

In that case, we should definitely do a double Shrine plan of Theatre and Snowblossom Shrine.
That way we can double the success threshold. From a 10% to a 20% in a single month! That would be fantastic.
We still wouldn't have a CMP guaranteed, but it's still the best we can do.

I see a lot of people voting for Granary because "Renxiang asked for it", but that's a bad argument.
While Granary is important, securing CMP as soon as possible still trumps everything else.
Even if we get the CMP without the Walls, we can still assign it to a post that grants Administration and Happiness to increase the bonuses.

There is no downside to doing double shrine.
On the contrary, not doing so jeopardize the future security of the fief.
Imagine next turn we roll a 83 and miss the CMP!

Let's not let an off-hand comment in a chapter, stir us away from the right choice.

Next turn is when we should do Granary + Walls. So we can get the Happiness and Admin bonus then.
The turn after that, we can do Boats and likely one of the Admin projects that Granary would unlock.
Or maybe Zhengui Shrine to raise the CMP cap if we got lucky and got one. We'll see then.

[X] Plan: Preparations for Winter

I wonder who knew the soul arts needed to make the oath the argents did. It would be supremely twisted if the defeat of ogdei was a result of some hui saving Twilight King artifacts. Or maybe it was an immigrant from the dragon peaks, who had dealt with one of the old wandering war machines. Or maybe a Jin, and the knowledge came as plunder.
