MERITS
ARTIFACT (*****) - THE LENS LANCE
DESCRIPTION: Forged in a heartbeat, lurking within the machine for ten thousand years, the fury and spirit of a barely tamed gravitic imploder lance - long mistaken for and used as an agrav system aboard an orbital habitat - has been once more aroused to the glory of battle. Though her functions are as of yet locked behind codewalls and mystery, she remains a terrifying weapon in the hands of a skilled warrior. Her legend will burn across the galaxy.

FAMILIAR (**) - GITTA, THE EVER LOYAL
DESCRIPTION: They say the Kriegers pour their hearts into their horses - but beyond their world, none know their mounts as anything but numbers on an Administratum file. Gitta will change that. Ia! Ia! Praise her! Praise Sainted Gitta, The Ever Loyal! Ia! Ia!

TEMPERED BY THE ELEMENTS (**) - DAUGHTER OF VATS, BORN OF WAR
DESCRIPTION: Though fading into seeming insignificance in the glorious dawn of a new age, the first Twilight to walk the galaxy since the fading of the Age of Sorrows was inured to the chaos of a modern battlefield, moving across it as swiftly as open ground.

SELECTIVE CONCEPTION (*) - SUBDERMAL IMPLANT IN THE THIGH
DESCRIPTION: ...this is actually just standard issue for Imperial Guardsmen from any world with a Magos Biologis on it.

LANGUAGES (*)
DESCRIPTION: You can speak the ancient tongue of The Old Realm!

INTIMACIES

Defining: The Galaxy is a Body, I will Heal it (Positive)
Major: Kit (Confused Attraction), Chaos (Hatred), Gitta (Love)
Minor: Technology (fascination), Xenos (Fear)

CHARMS

IN SUMMATION: Genuis flows, unabated, through the mind of the First Twilight. She is able to hold multiple projects in mind at once, easier than any mortal, while also shifting her focuses - despite not being trained in the crafting of explosives or metallurgy, she could shift her ability to create medical chemicals into that with some effort. She is able to inspire herself to construct even mighty artifacts swifter than any mortal, so long as she crafts projects that aid and help her allies and friends. She can complete mundane and even complex tasks - building a rifle, a suit of armor, or a small vehicle - in literal seconds using nothing but the raw materials and her bare hands. Raw excellence overflows in all her favored and caste abilities, bolstering their dicepools if required.

For years, I thought it was World Bearers and Word Eaters, true story

I feel like World Eaters eating books is probably kinda common. Not sure about Word Bears trying to carrying worlds.

A close vote on the meditating, but there's…not a vote but something I want to take your barometer on: how do you guys feel about training times? In normal rules, it takes days or weeks to learn new skills, even with crafting being your supernal ability. Are you cool with the banking being for future downtime or do you want to ditch training times?

There's even an in universe reason for if if you do ditch it

Broadly, it boils down to "Are Training Times useful to the plot?"

Then sure!

The point is, Training Times shouldn't come in the way of being Fun.

Marching in Silver and Gold (1.7)
The other guardsmen were looking over their new hellguns, while you and Kit watched one another.

"...s-so, we should go and...help the rest of, of the...the guard," you said, pointing with your arm, towards the sound of rumbling guns, the floating starship. Kit nodded, and once again, his body flowed like liquid glass and silver flames. Once again, he became his normal Cadian self, his flak vest still tight around his chest, lasgun over his shoulder.

"Yeah," he said, nodding.

Silence hung between you two. The guardsmen with their new uniforms all seemed as awkward as you were.

"Come on!" you said, then turned. There was a swish noise, then a light thump. Gitta didn't even buck or twist, she just continued to walk forward, even as a strong arm looped around your belly and you felt Kit's blazing warmth against your back. You melted against him, sighing softly. It was like you had been without a coat, and someone had given you an officer's blues. You shook your head, trying to get your brain to remember that this was a stranger, on your mount...c...cuddling! He was cuddling you!

THe other guardsmen fanned out, 7-7 looking somewhat desolate without her mount, even if the new respirator you had made for her was fitted comfortably to her features.

"S-Shouldn't you walk too?" you mutered.

"Maybe," Kit said. He sounded as confused as you were.

You cocked your head, but the porthole cut your peripheral vision off enough that you couldn't quite see his features. "You're a man, not a...a...felid!"

"Heh. Half right," he said, sounding amused. "Though, I think...I have these strange memories. This knowledge. I know how to get more forms, I think. But I...mrrrr..." He growled softly and that growl sent a shivery tingle along your spine that was decidedly non-regulation. Your cheeks flushed, not sure which betrayed you more, him or your stupid body. Gitta's left ear twitched, sarcastically.

"Y-Yes?" you asked.

"I know you, don't i?" he asked, quietly.

"Y-Yes, we met before," you said, blushing.

"Not just that," Kit said. "I...know how you smell."

"Like I haven't had ablutions for a week!" you stammered. His hand had settled onto your hip, gripping you firmly. Your cheeks were burning. There was only three layers between you and his palm right now, he wasn't wearing a glove. There should be four. This was improper! You grabbed his hand, and felt the insane urge to bring it to your resperator. You shoved it away instead. "...do you have...strange memories? Feelings?"

"Yeah," he said, nodding.

You had reached the edge of the battlefield that surrounded the aid station, and come to jagged lines of trenches. A pair of fighters screamed by overhead - and left the air deadened and quiet in the supersonic roar of their passing. You looked up at them...and shaded your eyes, frowning. A strange double vision - layering one atop the other. You had been here before, in the trenches, looking up at the planes overhead - you and Kit both, your eyes overlapping. It made your head hurt. You closed your eyes. "What has happened to us?" you whispered.

"I remember Verdun," he whispered.

"Where?" you asked.

"I don't know," he said.

But you did as well. Verdun. It, like Chiaroscuro, was a name you'd never heard before...but knew in your bones, deep down in your gut now. You remembered the...impossible vision, the demon sent falsehood. The sun, the moon, the stars - all swirling fragments of power, coalescing in a flash of desperate strength against a dying age. And from it was born...the Emperor. You probed that memory like you would a broken tooth, wincing in anticipation of pain and sharpness. You looked left, away from...from anything and saw nothing but rubble and corpses - and the distant barrels of what looked like earthshakers. They didn't fire and belch smoke. They were still. They were dead.

You needed to distract yourself. From Kit. From the memories. From the feeling that you weren't you anymore. Except you were, weren't you? But then what were all these new thoughts?

What were you?

What was this?

Augh!

"T-Tell me!" you said, stammering, thoughts running ahead of your brain.

"Hurm?" Kit asked.

"T-Tell me, uh, uh, uh..."

You looked around for inspiration.

Let's move fast before any commissars or unhelpful doctrine catch up with us.
Or worse. Helpful doctrine. Or any particularly observant coggies.

As for training times, in 2E it was used to draw a difference between what one was innately supernaturally good at and what one was merely inhumanly skilled at.

There might be something about Supernal? IIRC the training time for Supernal charms is zero, and it might be the same for skills, but also what Solar doesn't max their Supernal out of the gate?

Even with the training times, (assuming enough XP), we could go from having no stealth to out-sneaking the Tanith First-and-Only in about four months. But we can go from zero linguistics to teaching sisters Dialogus about the nuances of a new language in two weeks (assuming enough XP)

[X] Seeing the past: "...are we married?"

They've already blazed past handholding. :V

Some good options there…

[x] Seeing a splash of purple uniform: "...about...your eyes..."

[X] Seeing some rubble that had once been homes: "...about your home!"
[X] Seeing a dead soldier, her helmet knocked off: "...about your family!"
[X] Seeing the past: "...are we married?"

I can't decide on just one.

[X] Seeing a dead soldier, her helmet knocked off: "...about your family!"
[X] Seeing some rubble that had once been homes: "...about your home!"

These are both darkly funny to me. Both because of the object that prompts the question, and the fact that Kit's a cadian post fall of cadia.

[X] Seeing a splash of purple uniform: "...about...your eyes..."
[X] Seeing the past: "...are we married?"

Voting for all of them was tempting but also kind of pointless, so the do you think I'm pretty didn't make the cut.

[X] Seeing the past: "...are we married?"

Don't come on too strong

"You are Husband, yes?"

41! No!

[X] Seeing the sky: "...do you think I'm pretty?"
[X] Seeing a splash of purple uniform: "...about...your eyes..."

Exalted has freely suggested that the training times are for its base setting & there's nothing stopping you from just running a present day martial arts movie where the protagonist visibly improves between scenes. So just do whatever has the best mouthfeel.

[X] Seeing some rubble that had once been homes: "...about your home!"

I can think of no better question to ask a Cadian (speaking as a Guard player)
