I'm going to be honest, even with nearly 20 damn pages of commentary I don't really get why Drilbur over Tinkatink? I mean my vote for Nacli was for tactics and humor so maybe it's that but people have a different sense of humor than I do. But I did expect more people to stick with the previously memed out story ideas that we came up with post-festival.

I have no idea either, honestly. I would've gotten more excited about it if I realized it existed before this vote, but I think my eyes straight up glossed over it on the initial encounter table.
It was a combination of Drilbur's personality, her being a young kid, Excadrill's usefulness in battle, and Tempera's post explaining why they thought Drilbur was the best option.

Metal Gear REX: One of the T-Rex or Godzilla homages. Instinct tells me Tyranitar - not quite the original generation, but the first one a lot of people played.
Metal Gear RAY: gotta be a water type. Feraligatr might keep in theme with REX, Mantine kinda works, Kabutops is a big reach but definitely fits the feel of the Revengeance upgrade.
The Shagohad: Excadril of course.

Consider that there were a hundred voters for this one, a much larger number of users than regularly post in the thread. Makes total sense to me that the result will be different than what people memed about a month ago.
