Am I just falling for her manipulations or does it seem like Lilliana is both deeply surprised and unexpectedly profoundly touched by Thystra's actions?

She's in the novel position of being suddenly disastrously weak and also completely at another sorceress's mercy, but also discovering that this is the one person who will apparently not turn on her no matter what she does to her, so it would be understandable.

We can rebuild her. We have the technology.
Eh, honestly if it were up to me, I'd keep her in a pod as long as possible, at most make her a bio-Dreadnaught. Keep her controlled and vulnerable. Maybe (and that's a big maybe) if she shows signs of truly reciprocating our love and devotion, I could let her out.

But that's just me, you guys feel free to make Lil a Bilion Mark Woman. Or... what's the currency in Naggaroth?

[X] The Unknown Foe
[X] Her Faith

The thing that intrigues me about gonig after the foe is that, for all Liliana is better suited for ferreting them out, if we go after them, we're going to end up turning them or conquering them, and in that ives us a power base beyond Liliana. Going so far for love but still staking an identity beyond it, that appeals to me. Is it a disgustingly healthy option? Perhaps, but it can't be toxic codependent yuri all the time - you've gotta have some contrast to illustrate how fucked up they are, if nothing else!
