Should I include expies of Genshin Impact characters?

[X] Plan: The All Loving

I mostly agree with Magery that Knight overlaps significantly with Sam/Acheron and Planned Ahead with Silver Wolf. This plan feels the most unique thematically to me.

Also, glad to see a HSR quest! I love the game, and I was actually thinking about trying to run one myself. We shall see...

Hm, yeah, I suppose the origins being so close to the Stellaron Hunters might be limiting. Kafka's origin escapes this trend a bit due to the increased flexibility of Pteurges' lack of known worldbuilding and the fact that a missing emotion can lead to different outcomes depending on what that emotion is.

@MrKermie Is it too late to edit? I feel like a dead girlfriend would be a nice addition.

Nope. But I wouldn't recommend it, seeing as the chara idea is already locked in

There's also a little bit of an ethics issue from changing the plan so late without being able to talk to the other votes and get concisous. People tend to not like having a plan change on them after voting for it.

I didn't want to be the one to mention it frist since as guy who made the main competitor it coming from me is automatically suspect

One more vote for Loving solidifies it.

On a totally unrelated note, does anyone have a wiki page for Elysia?

I'm a little curious (and positing this question to more experienced Honkai fans as well), how much does my plan thematically overlap with other characters in Star Rail and otherwise?

[X] Plan: Memories Broken, Truth Goes Unspoken
-[X] A Knight of Glamoth
-[X] Emanator Of A Path (-2)
-[X] Specialist (-1)
-[X] Revelation From Above (-1)
-[X] Amnesiac (+/-???)
-[X] Unending Grief(1)
-[X] Shadow Of Nihility (1)

Unending Grief is honestly a really funny flaw (I do have to wonder what happens if a Devil Hunter lacks the emotion of grief / sadness or whatnot, and has this flaw. Are they so fucked up by this loss that they forcibly gain that emotion? Honestly pretty sick if so), and I think it has some very solid story potential with being an Amnesiac -- a grief so bad that even when you've lost your memories it still weighs on you. Double points if that even if the PC has forgotten, their Mech hasn't.

I threw in Nihility just for fun -- your body is broken, your memories taken, and there's another timer ticking down the clock. In return, you have a mech, a vision from your Aeon, and power both given and earned with blood, sweat and tears. I think it has some pretty great story potential!
Awww.I have plans for our cute murder blender of a knight. The GM and I even talked a tiny bit about a story arc of her healing from her grief with the help of of one of the canon cast.

I know this means astoundingly little from someone who's had had minimal traction from their plan, but I think that while it's character generation not!Pink Jesus Elf has a distinct advantage because apparently it doesn't have a thematic overlap with other prominent HSR characters, and having both a strong social front and a power front makes it pretty appealing. Being able to neutralize its initial drawback of faction hatred makes it feel a lot safer too.

I think you'd be better served talking about how your character is distinct from the thematic overlap Magery discussed, has a more compelling storyline, advantages in gameplay, etc than Astra's plan

Personally for my own plan as bereft as it is I like it better than the others because it's got a solid plotline right off the bat. Grief so bad that you can't escape it even when your memories are gone feels pretty thematically spicy, and while with both Knight's drawback and Nihility are dual time clocks, having Emanator, Specialist, and Revelation feels like a jet booster to start pushing from the get go rather than floating around.

Who am I? Why am I dying? Who did I lose? Despite the amnesia, there's distinct goals and a step 1: finding out who else is like you and who might have the answers, I.E. Sam. For me, the plotlines tie together pretty neatly and it's why I like it. Things are a little scuffed but it feels potentially interesting and engaging, albeit I'm operating off of a few Google searches and osmosis so who knows, maybe my plan is horrible and that's why everyone else isn't voting for it!

Edit: lmao

The All Loving has taken a huge lead!
If no other plan manages to pass it in one hour, voting is closed.
All in all, a great first vote. Kudos to all the other plans who tried. Who knows, maybe I'll write a sidestory about them.

Two issues. Frist a chunk of the theamtic elements where hashed out in the PM with the GM which means spoilers.
Second, thematic arguments rarely if ever work in character creation votes in my experiance. I f post a rebuttal i fully expect the reponse to be either "too long, didn't read" or "you tried to make this a debate so I'm voting against you". So baislcy I'm trying to convince people to change votes without setting off that "f you" reponse I'm worried about.

Edit: and the vote has closed.

Sorry, man, I'll write omakes about your character and requester's character if the thread does well, but it wasn't to be. Vote hasn't closed yet, but it's so heavily skewed it might be.

Tragic doomed yuri Kamen Rider will live on in our hearts.

Personally, past a certain point it started to come across as begging in a way that had the opposite effect of making me want to vote for the plan. "Please I've got super cool stuff planned out with the GM if you vote for me." Isn't really a convincing argument, especially when you are dealing with arguments with more depth to them like Magery's.

Also, I did the same thing for the other two who had competitive plans. They also had or will have story arcs planned out. Sorry @Silversun17, the thread was the one deciding, not me.

5 more minutes. Any last words from each of our lucky voters?
