Vent: 4-0

GALACTIC WAR
Victory Points: 5
RESOURCES
TERRAN DOMINION [Background] (1)
The men and material of the Dominion - limited, but they're mustering as we speak.
ALLIANCE EXPEDITIONARY FORCES [Mastery] (1)
While you have access to several ACUs of every faction, they lack economic and technological support to be fully effective.
ZERG HIVE [Mastery] (1)
The scant few Zerg you control that are free of Amon's influence. Mostly Zerglings.
AEON FLEET [Background] (1)
While half a dozen CZARs seem impressive, they're not actually well made for ship to ship combat.
ALLIED COHESION [Motivation] (1)
The alliance is fragile and weak.

Anyway, I don't really like the idea of forcefully possessing someone to send them onto what is at best a suicide mission, and at worst will get them tortured and then killed.

Use mind manipulation to coerce people is kind of the whole reason why Clarke defected from the UEF.

Okay so laying out pro's and cons:

  1. It's unethical, specifically in a way that strikes at Sam's ideals pretty hard.
  2. It probably risks the tech's life or gets her killed, which is not optimal for lesbian romances!
  3. It's definitely, I imagine, mechanically less likely to get the psi disruptor compared to doing it ourselves, and it takes time and risks the stealth.

Contrasted against this we have:
  1. It would be really hot, though.

So probably unless we can think of a way to at least avoid one of those cons, I think don't vote for it! It just captured my imagination really hard is all. But if we could take her back with us it's maybe more even.

Yeah, I'm also against the forcibly possessing/infesting the random engie thing. Like it would be one thing if there was the time to give her a full run down on infestation and its pros and cons then gave her time to think it over. But there very much isn't time for something like that.

I liked a couple of 10ebbor10's write ins, but I think, I'm just gonna stick with the simple, go after the disruptor like was initially planned.

You could make it a short lived parasite that dies after a short time?

[X] Grab that one tech and see about discreetly using her to mess with the disruptor, then sneak onto the Norad.
-[X] If anyone's watching, try to make it look like a kiss.
-[X] Temporary flavor parasite, for safety!

This quest just feels more and more like kink exploration than anything else, honestly.
The first arc was really good with how it portrayed the culture clash and everything, but I feel like this bit is just... every chapter feels like there's just the obligatory section about how horny people are, and it's getting in the way of a lot of the more plot-interesting stuff. We got hints that Sam would be getting massive dysmorphia from being infested, that she'd be getting weird emotions about the woman she loves stabbing her in the back and infesting her, but none of those hints seems to be actually capitalized on in the slightest- it's just... hahahaha horny

Act two of StarCraft games are, generally, about corruption and transformation. The Zerg are a particularly tactile and instinctive species, and Sam was somewhat repressed for her whole life. The combination is gonna be kinda horny and messed up.

I do my best to balance your votes and my story, and had planned for everything from outright rebellion to indulging in scenery chewing evil if you wanted to go the full SC1 classic act two route.

But act three is starting up soon, and it's going to have its own tone, just like the shift from heart of the swarm to legacy of the void. And hopefully, everyone wants Sarah and Sam to get a happy ending without zerg or xel'naga craziness, which is the end goal.

[ ] Go after the disruptor (Stealth Diff 5)
[X] Sneak aboard the Norad III (Stealth Diff 5)
-[X] Use our second Command Spark to have Duke's replacement prioritise killing Daggoth and stopping a new Overmind above everything else. Their family was on Tarsonis or something.

This way the Dominion attacks the Zerg and the Science Ship and it's cute lesbian are at less risk since the fleet won't be caught off guard. It also might let Raynor bring this fleet on to our side.

I'll take that reasoning djjdnvv

Infestation station baby!!

We'll have another crack at Duke eventually, so going after the Disruptor is more important imo, gotta reunite the Swarm first.
so I'd propose the following:
[X] Plan Grand Theft Science: Go after the bridge, storm it and use it to contact Artanis, have him use an Arbiter to both cloak the approach of every Zerg flier we have access to and to Recall the entire science ship to steal it and all its contents (lesbians included), the Zerg forces can use the opportunity to try and drive straight for Duke's ship
-[X] mechanically: Use Biomorphic Spawning to take and hold the bridge, then use a second Command Spark to get Artanis to deploy an Arbiter to cover the approach of our Zerg while retrieving ourselves and the Emitter
(I'm just assuming that we wouldn't be going into a full combat encounter to take the bridge, considering that we're on a science vessel, not a battlecruiser)

It would be hot, but I don't think it's in character.

Also, did Sarah tell us that she only infested us because we were gonna die? Do we not believe her? Why are we still giving her shit for it?

I'd be more pissed about the lying and getting people killed on our ship and the general Zergy-murders.

Yeah, but i figure it's still an emotionally complex situation. Also, I dunno, I didn't want it to be all too easy and writing for drama is hard

If we want to grab the lesbian, Grand Theft Science is probably the best choice to make sure she survives.

For the Sexual attraction conversation there are going to be many more lesbians, the vast amount of Aeon Knights are female, that will probably be available to kiss we can ignore the Voice of the Smitten and leave the poor kid alone.

They maybe be more into talking about their faith and meditating than actually kissing. but hey hopelessly pining or worrying about a partner being stolen away is a key part of any romantic drama.

Sure they will. And then we can give them psychic kisses and chastise them when they falter.
