Endless Devotion (DC/Cultist Simulator/Book of Hours)

Typical cultist simulator vibe: Laying low, slowly growing in power until the time of their ascension is at hand.

Endless Devotion vibe: Screaming "Come at me then! I'll take you all on!" While absorbing an energy field larger than their head.

Ah well, live fast, leave a beautiful corpse.
[X] Plan School of the Elite
succeeding catastrophically.
What a delightfully intriguing phrase.

Huh kinda surprised that TF2 medic expy is not there
I completely forgot about him! Ah, he was german too. What a waste.

You won't get any more SEASON professors after this. Mainly to keep this from Character Bloating, since I want at least one professor per Lore (when we get there) and a few various Unique students.

I think next time we do a face claim, I will make a mini-poll before of people you would think would fit and like in the fic, and I would choose three of them for you to vote. Something for the future.

I'm a fan of the idea of having professors for each Lore it makes sense since its' an occult academy with science as it's trappings. I'm also hoping some of their skill rubs off on the MC. Unique students seems cool as well.

As risky as choosing both the most expensive option and the most complicated option is, it's hard to dismiss that if we can manage the downsides we will be getting all the SEASON lore and prestige we could ever ask for.

I wonder if, when we get more notoriety as an organization if we'll start getting dc characters with weird esoteric comic books maladies coming to us for medical help?

Honestly, I sort of expect us to get asked to remove a Kryptonite Bullet from Superman someday.

It seems like the perfect storm that'd happen to a school like ours. The best surgeon in the world given a job by the Justice Leage...

And then both sides get the baggage....

I don't know if it was asked before but... is there a Mansus involved in the story?

If the Endless are the Hours(or at least an equivalent) do they have something like personal domains mortals can reach like the Red Church or are they more hands off in their approach?
I'm asking because I know barely nothing about them.

From what we know of them in the DC universe, the Endless do indeed have personal realms. There is no true 'Mansus', as in an overarching supernatural realm where the Endless all do their things, however.

Dream has the Dreaming. Destiny has the Garden of Forking Paths. Death has the Sunless Lands. There's more, that I can't recall off the top of my head.

Going to these Realms, however, is highly inadvisable. Just... in general. The Endless are not like the Hours. Entering their realms is putting yourself entirely at their mercy. Unlike the Mansus, within their own realms the Endless are essentially Omnipotent. Capital O. And most of the Endless don't respond well to being poked by an ape with a slightly special stick.

Death is paradoxically both better and worse in that regard. She is quite benevolent and genial about things- She'll get everyone, in the end, after all.

The trouble comes in getting to the point of interacting with her without having your mind fucked into peacefully accepting oblivion.

Despair has some weird nightmare realm, desire has their weird, person shaped tower, delirium presumably has some realm of madness that would probably do bad things to your brain. I dunno if we ever see Destruction's place? Dream's realm got pretty chaotic with him gone just for decades, god knows what's become of his realm with how long he's been gone.

looking it up, Destruction's realm is the Fulcrum. Which, funnily enough, is empty, on account of it constantly being in a lighting-sandstorm with a constant nuclear explosion going off.

And also, almost no one can go in because there's no one inside to invite them in. Because y'know. Destruction's not there anymore.

Destruction seeing nukes and realizing there's no need for him to further destruction is really odd when you consider the fact that the Endless simultaneously exist for every species in the universe at once. Like how Cain and Abel aren't *really* cain and abel but the first beings in the universe to commit/be murder(ed). Or how Martian Manhunter saw Dream as a Martian god instead of a goth dude. Like, is there some other aspect of Destruction connected to some alien species still out there plugging along not having come to the same realization yet?

From my impression the nukes thing wasn't nuked exactly- it was Destruction foreseeing the sheer destructiveness with which Mortals were becoming capable of. In fact, he apparently made the transition sometime around 1718.

Presumably, he was also doing so for dint of things like the Green Lanterns being created, wielding the most powerful weapons in the universe. assorted various metahumans showing up with highly destructive powers, etc, etc.

By my point of view, in Sandman we are looking at the Earth version of the Endless. Which is to say that they exist everywhere and such, and the version we see is the part of them that exists around Earth.

So Destruction retired for the Nuke thing, yes. But I see it more as Destruction always retires at one point, and that was the point at which Destruction-Earth retires. I see the Endless less as as discrete entities and more as a gradient, if that makes sense

Since ruan mei won, I wonder if we will see her creations and a hsr mc(Stella or caelus)face claim will become an assistant to her

Thank you. It's a shame that the Mansus doesn't exist here, I always liked exploring it in the game.

Wonder if getting to visit the Endless realms would require any less personal and uh *not* so personal sacrifice than moving through the Mansus...
