Endless Devotion (DC/Cultist Simulator/Book of Hours)

If you got there immediately please refresh, there were a few formatting mistakes I fixed.

So yeah, here we start.

The turns will be really short, I don't want to get them super long. So at least the years will fly by easily.

Tell me if the mechanics are clunky. I based them on Book of Hours, but I think I made them pretty understandable.

Now the question: how do you get more Lores and Skills? Well, the answer here is: unique characters. Mainly students. So your aim should be to get your notoriety higher so that you can attract new important students. I am now going on the wiki to find the age of every character and see when exactly they went to Uni, so. If you get a unique character but no canon character is available, we will have a face claim.

So, feel free to tell me what you think of that. Enjoy!

[X] Plan GAMBLE
-[X] Teach Your Students: Ludwig Weisswald, Head of Medicine
-[X] Confront the Schwarz: Ludwig Weisswald, Master of the Unseen, Surgeries and Exsanguinations
-[X] Standard Investing: Alexandra Schwarz, 2 FUNDS

I think great on the face claim thing

Hmm... would we be able to erect standard wards and expand them to include seasonal wards later? I would also like to study ourselves the earlier the better, to establish a baseline.

This is a very new type of resource allotment, I like it! Just to clarify, we can only have 1 character for each action? Definite need to hire professors asap.

So... foundation building. Provisionally:

Medicine:
Head of Medicine to teach the students (Teaching 2)

Administration, School:
Alexandra Teaching Spree (Material 4)

Administration, Schwartz:
Master of the Unseen & Skill Surgeries and Exsanguinations to confront the Schwartz family (Season 2), Alexandra assist

Next turn try to find new professors, cover our tracks, and teach Alexandra?

[] Plan: Avoiding routine.
-[] Teach The Lores: Ludwig Weisswald, Head of Medicine, Surgeries and Exsanguinations
-[] Confront the Schwarz: Ludwig Weisswald, Master of the Unseen, Surgeries and Exsanguinations
-[] Teaching Spree: Alexandra Schwarz (1 FUND)

Right now, freeing Ludwig's actions is more important to us than one fund, later we will be able to replenish it when the family is sure that we have something to offer them. As for the training action, I don't see the point in trying half hard if we can start increasing our reputation and luring new people by getting new Lores.

You can do both wards, but the second one will cost more, because you will have to integrate them.

You can use two characters for one action, they add their points to one another because they are collaborating. But yes, every character can do only one action per turn

Will give it a think but honestly the example Plan: Start doesn't seem so bad. Eases us into the routine and does our job.

Huh. I haven't looked at book of hours much yet, this is a bit different. Season seems like a mix of parts of heart and winter? Interesting. Wonder when we'll get a look at the non Healer side of Ludwig.

Can we use the same skill for both Ludwig's or do we need to pick?

Skills
Skills:

Surgeries and Exsanguinations:
Surgery entails the flow of blood, and flowing blood entails purification. Beware, though, for that goes both ways, still as winter or alive as spring. (SEASON, SMOKE)
-SEASON 2: Your eyes are opening to the circle of life and death. Nowhere is it more apparent than when elbow-deep in a patient, feeling its heart's waxing and waning. You become a master in the field of surgery and diagnosis.
-SEASON 4: Your touch is that of a Healer. Flesh welcomes you and invites you in, blood trusts you, and obeys your command. Move in time with the drums, still as you please. You don't need tools for simple surgeries. You have a minor control over the body you are operating on.
-Users: Ludwig Weisswald (SEASON 4, SMOKE 0)

So, some of our Lords are the same and some are different, can you give us a comparison, for the different ones, especially hill as it shares no color with another lore, and rose seems to have gained some of scale if that us was a professor of history and archeology. I know they are the endless but comparison helps solidify it in ny mind.

Sure.

Now, every single lore is linked to one of the Endless. So essentially you can see it as Despair or Desire or Death made lore if that's more useful.

Season: Lore of Death. It is essentially Winter plus Heart with a bit of Nectar. Life and Death, healer and killer. In exchange you lose the Necromancy and Undeath angle: no undead here. That said you will be able to heal yourself of everything if you go down Season, so that's that.

Grail: Lore of Desire. It is essentially the same, with birth given to Season. In exchange it takes music from Heart and art from the rest.

Forge: Lore of Destruction. The same as cultist simulator.

Ink: Lore of not!Dream. It is a mix of Lantern and Sky: essentially pure logic and equation. Unmerciful light, everything being quantifiable and as such changeable, etc etc. There is no lie here, and everything you are can be put black on white. It is essentially Order magic plus ultra, with a surprise at the end. This is mostly because every Endless is its concept and its inverse

Hill: Lore of Despair. This is tricky, but this is Edge with a twist. It takes the Scar aspect of Edge to a new level: cutting away parts of yourself and limiting yourself will bring the most strength to the rest of you. Make yourself a steep path, and grow stronger by doing so. And if you fail, retry. Sysiphus. Despair and Hope.

Smoke: Lore of Delirium. Moth plus Knock. This is difficult, because Madness was an important aspect of Cultist Simulator, and here an Endless embodies it. Here it is the lore of secrets, ways, and freedom. Madness more as complete freedom even from yourself, lacking bounds. So to become Smoke you have to forget those bounds: there is no wall if you walk with your eyes closed. This and Hill I have to workshop a bit more I think.

Rose: Lore of Destiny. This is Secret History. This is essentially Destiny and Luck magic. See the chain of destiny, see that you are a slave to it, bludgeon your enemies to death with your chains. As there are multiple past there are even multiple presents: you have no freedom because your present has already been written, but there is not only one present, and you can choose which one you live in.

Grail: Lore of Desire. It is essentially the same, with birth given to Season. In exchange it takes music from Heart and art from the rest.
Why is the second aspect of Surgeries and Exsanguinations smoke, and not, for example, the Grail?
After all, nothing seems to connect the cycle of life and death with the absence of boundaries and insanity. Unlike the Grail, with which there is some thematic connection, at least through "'We must devour to be devoured. We cannot be undevoured, as we cannot be unborn.'

Originally Surgeries and Exsanguination was Heart and Knock. Heart because, you know, life and healing, and Knock because of wounds.

Knock is all about wounds. It can be said to be the art of cutting in some ways, from my understanding of it. Smoke takes a part of that.

While the Season part takes more the actual healing, the Smoke part takes the opening a wound and 'what is a body?' when talking about surgeries.

So if you take Smoke up you will take the aspect of the Thief whose blade cannot be stopped, because the whole world is a body and you are the surgeon. When put together with high Season you become a surgeon of the whole world. Kinda.

For example, in my power scale I put Superman, Wonder Woman and Batman at 10 in their lore - yes, batman equally to the others, because while he is human he is just as effective, just in another way.

To reach the Surgeon of the whole world you should be something like Season 8 Kock 8. That's not little to ask for.

Hope I explained myself.

[X] Plan: Starting Up
-[X] Teach Your Students: Ludwig Weisswald, Head of Medicine
-[X] Confront the Schwarz: Ludwig Weisswald, Master of the Unseen, Surgeries and Exsanguinations
-[X] Teaching Spree: Alexandra Schwarz, 1 FUND

Let's first free up our AP.
My Q1 goals are to get the Schwarz on our side, cover our tracks, and erect standard wards on Turn 3 (where we get more funds), mostly because we're in a forest and we don't want our students to get mauled by bears. Also to free up AP. The Head of Medicine can check-in and teach every 3 months.
My Q2 goals are to invest and get funds to prepare for research.

EDIT: Forgot to add Fund
