@JayTar Narratively what spirit animal could fit Oliver at this juncture in his journey?

And how do we want his resolve to shape from this.. You've always had a good grasp of Oliver as a character.

[x]Follow the black bear
i say go with dragon mom quest

I see with the path of the Bear, Oliver leaning more into his friends. Empowering them through his knowledge so they can protect against the dark as well. We can see this through him teaching Nemo to be calm, keeping Emily grounded and giving her the Gem. Sending disciples in the Reverand's way so he might not have to stand his trials alone. Opening Jackson's and Robert's eyes.

Perhaps, he can do more?

[x]Seek your own path

None of the animals or their phrases resonated with me. I don't feel like this quest has been about Oliver following a set path.

On Drifting Paths
You wandered through the mists that wrapped around you. It would be easy to follow after one of the animals that were there. They were familiar, and certainly moving slowly enough that you could keep up with them. But something within you resisted. You did not take the easy path. Instead you forged your own way forwards, wandering into the darkness and falling deeper. You were lost, but you would not take a guide. You couldn't voice to yourself why that was. You were moving more on instinct and emotion than true thought here in this place, and you could not seem to pierce the veils of your sleep to do so.

You do catch sight of what looks like a possible destination ahead. You quicken your pace, eager to finally leave behind the darkness and mists, and be somewhere. It had to be better than being nowhere.

[ ]It looks like a tunnel, lit with torches and with murals telling tales on the walls
[ ]It looks like a city on the water, grand and tall with architecture you've never beheld before
[ ]It looks like a cabin set in the woods, a cozy place to rest from the wilds
[ ]It looks like the breaking dawn of the sky, clouds bleeding colors over the edges

Change, rather than a defined destination, at least for me

FIFTEEN Sky Dreams
You walk into dawn, colors painting the clouds. At least, at first you were walking. Then you were simply moving. You didn't have a ground to walk on, just moving through the air. You couldn't quite call it flight, though you knew it could be. And just that easily, you transitioned into flight. You hovered in the air and drifted with ease through the sky.

What looked like a balloon animal, large and blue with no features beyond the six blobby limbs it paddled the sky with like a manatee and a suggestion of a head without face or ears swam by. It lazily stopped and seemed to snuffle at you before continuing on its path. You could see another further away, either in the sun or simply just far down.

One of the clouds you were drifting by shifted, and you realized that it was in fact alive, and stretching out like a great cat. It soared off through the air playfully circling around. Then a shimmering salamander with an orb imbedded in its head swam by. It took a breath in and inhaled the colors around it, wisps forming in the air that it took in. It twisted contentedly and kept going.

Above you you thought you could see the edges of the moon, crisp and shining with its piercing pale light. Perhaps you could reach there if you pushed up.

[X] Collect the Colors
-[X] Reach out and gather the colors from the sky. Let the colors of dawn seep into a palette, formed from the clouds.
-[X] Study the creatures around you, painting them in a cloud canvas of the sky.

[X] Chase the Moon
-[X] Propel yourself towards the moon, using the clouds as stepping stones that bounce you higher and higher with each leap.
-[X] As you ascent, gather the colors of the sky, the blush of the sunrise giving rise to the deep velvet of of the stars.

Annnd caught up again! Interesting direction that things went in. Happy how it is turning out so far though, especially with Robert.
Kinda wonder what Emily is going to do with the gem.

Sorry that I didn't get to this in time! Got caught with starting a quest. I admit I would have been tempted by the coyote. Wouldn't have thought of disregarding them all though. Hopefully we don't make any big mistakes without a guide.

Anyway:
[X]Investigate the flying creatures of the air

This fits Oliver well. His imagination and curiosity. Marveling at the all the wonderful creatures of the world, even if other people are too scared to.
