[X] Jacob Morgan: Probable heir of the Morgan family, one of the five Unseen Families of the old continent. Based in Britain, heirs of the druids, they have always been aloof from continental politics. Mostly focused on magic research and harmony with nature, hundreds of secret groves have been kept safe from the Dulls and the march of pollution. Still, this policy has done the Morgans good, as they are the second strongest family: their deep knowledge of the arcane lets them easily throw invaders off their precious islands. Yet not everything is good in the family: in the search for the deeper mysteries, morality has long since been left behind and deemed useless. The other families see the Morgans as savage barbarians, and the Morgans look at failed experiments with only disgust. (The starting position is in the UK, on an island near Scotland. Small risk of outside interference. Bonus to removing Suspicion. Continue making progress, or your family may get ideas. Easy start.)

[X] Ludwig Weisswald: Probable heir of the Weisswald family, one of the five Unseen Families of the old continent. Based in Germany, this family came into power when they forced the Benevento conquests to a still, keeping the Germanian tribes free from Roman occupation. After this, the Weisswald became almost intrinsically tied to Germanian politics, differently from the hands-off attitude of the other Families. This continued until the last Head and about half of your family was beheaded by Wonder Woman and her merry band for aiding the Nazi regime. Luckily a good part of your family had fervently disagreed with the Head's choice, thus surviving the purge. You have only now got your feet back under you, but make no mistake: the Wesswald family is the weakest of the Five, and the other four know it. (The starting position is in Italy, deep in the Black Forest. High risk of outside interference. Your family will help you, but what they can offer you is little. Hardest start.)

You see "Outside Interfence" and see negatives, I see "Outside Interference" and I see how much shenanigans we can get up to

[X] Gorgias Christakis: Probable heir of the Christakis family, one of the five Unseen Families of the old continent. Based in Greece, oldest of the five families, your history is one of tragedy. Once the priesthood of the Greek Gods, your family has been left behind when the Gods decided to leave the world and sequester themselves on Mount Olympus. From that day, your family has searched high and low for a God to serve. Yet, every single time they are left behind, broken and aimless. Yet from every God the Christakis learn something, and that has made them masters of the esoteric. Now, they try to be the gods, shaping the popular culture of the world in any way they can, but it is too little, too late: second weakest of the families, you are, unfortunately, easy prey for those above you. (The starting position is in Greece, in a small coastal city. High risk of outside influence. Bonus to gaining Recognition. Your family may ask you to help them shape society, with esoteric lore as a reward.)
The description for this one seems really neat and I really don't want the hard mode option to win

[x] Luca Benevento: Probable heir of the Benevento family, one of the five Unseen Families of the old continent. Based in Italy and originating from the founding of Rome, the aid of the Benvento family cemented the Romans as an unstoppable empire. Yet with success came power, and with power, they extirpated their enemies. And with no enemies left, they turned their blades within. Be it from a military or magical perspective, the Benevento family is the absolute strongest of the Five, yet is fragmented into many regional branches fighting each other for legitimacy. This low-key civil war has been going on for two thousand years: every single branch scrabbling for money, influence, and knowledge, only kinslaying being banned to them. The only way to stop this war? An outside intervention, as many Families lost to time may attest. (The starting position is in Italy, in a valley one hour from Milan. No risk of outside interference. You will receive no bonus from your family unless you play their politics. Easiest start.)

And I completely forgot about the name of the college. Which. Yeah.
So, let's not make this a vote exactly, but feel free to tell me your preferences. If one name gets enough traction or one is just that good, I will probably use your names.
Remember that right now this is a Medicine college, but if you branch out into other lores you WILL get new courses like engineering and such, so keep it in mind.

Winner is Ludwig, with 14 votes! Since some people voted differently. Everyone loves an underdog it seems

[X] Gabriel Equili: Probable heir of the Equili family, one of the five Unseen Families of the old continent. Based in France, the Equili is the youngest of the Five, with only a thousand years under their belt. Gaining their fortunes from their mastery of alchemy, every member of the Equili has never lacked for anything. Even now they have a finger in every single pie, their deep fortunes wisely invested to give them an incredible influence in the modern world. Yet money is not everything. The only thing stopping the Equili from dethroning the Benevento? Numbers. Only one in three Equili children can become a mage, and that has cemented them as the third strongest Family. Every mage they have is precious, and every prodigy unreplaceable: and you are nothing if not a prodigy. (The starting position is in France, on a simple stretch of countryside. Medium risk of outside influence. Bonus to gaining Funds. You are of IMMENSE interest to the family. Normal start.)

"...and so it is with utmost pleasure that I declare the New University of Higher Learning open to the public!"
You tightly grab the podium in front of you as the audience politely claps. Your face is stuck in one of those politically acceptable smiles, that blergh. You hate public speaking, which is just another reason that you do not wish to become the Weisswald Head.
That and not having to rebuild your family from the ashes of the War while the other four families circle around you finding you mighty appetizing.
You really do not envy Grandma one bit.
You heave a sigh of relief when you finally manage to get down the podium, the usual and comforting presence of Alexandra right behind you. You suffer in silence for a bit more as you wave away questions from local newspapers and interested politicians. Luckily you managed to convince Grandma that having members of the family attending the ceremony would have done more harm than good: best to keep quiet for now. You don't have the standing to survive the attention from the other families right now. They WILL discover you, you just can't hide something like the College forever. You just hope that when they do you will be able to fight back.
Fucking vultures.
You shake your head and send a nod to the rector - one of the Schwarz, you think he is Alexandra's maternal uncle - and walk towards the crowd. You have eyes only for the students in the crowd.
Your students.
Your little experiments! Wait no, that makes you sound like a Morgan, and fuck that. You smile as you see the nervous smiles of kids now thrown into a whole new world. In more ways than one in their case, not that they know about it. Still, this is a huge step forward for your research into the Lores, and you cannot help but be a bit giddy about it. Your grin must be quite frightening from the way the kids are looking at you.
Ah, no matter, no matter. These kids will help you learn about the Lores, in one way or another. You can forgive them a lot for this.
You spend your obligatory fifteen minutes shaking hands and giving lip platitudes before you finally, finally manage to get out of the little celebration. You whistle as you leave the main College plaza, entering the forest path that leads to your private house.
You glance around at the modest campus. Just a few buildings scattered amongst the forest: you were quite insistent on that. It just made the atmosphere just right, and also helped harmonize one with the SEASONS, so it was fundamental. To go from one building to the next you are forced to go through what are essentially winding forest paths, if a forest path were wide enough for two cars to pass through.
Still, to pass a bend in a path and see a modern building of glass and steel appear from behind the trees? Yeah, you really couldn't resist. The campus is pretty barebones, especially considering how far from civilization it is, but there is plenty of space for expanding it. And for what you have in mind, a remote campus was mandatory, really.
You whistle a nice ditty, your heart beating in rhythm alongside it. Birds flutter around you, feeling your aspect as the Healer and deciding to trust you. Hah, you feel like a Disney Princess!
Oh, this is going to be so much fun.

Every turn takes 6 months, exactly a semester. So you will have two turns for every school year.
As of now your only department is Medicine, and a full Medicine course takes 6 years, or 12 turns, so there isn't any hurry.
You will have three types of resources: characters, skills, and assists. To take an action you need to assign a character to it. You can assign a skill to a character to aid him in such action, but only if the character knows such skill. You can assign an assist to a character to aid him in such action. Only one skill and assist can be assigned per character.
To complete an action you have to assign a character to it and reach the LORE breakpoints needed.
An example of a turn would be:
[X] Plan Start
-[X] Teach Your Students: Ludwig Weisswald, Head of Medicine
-[X] Confront the Schwarz: Ludwig Weisswald, Master of the Unseen, Surgeries and Exsanguinations -[X] Cover Your Tracks: Alexandra Schwarz
---
New University of Higher Learning (NUHL)
Suspicion: 1 (There are leads connecting this new University to the Weisswald family. Interesting.)
Notoriety: 0 (What? Where exactly are you going to Uni? A campus lost in the woods? What?)
Education: ??? (Too soon to say)
Resources: 2 (The limited tuition of your first batch of students, plus help from your Family)
Upkeep: 0 (You have no Structure or Upkeep)
RESOURCES:
Characters:
Ludwig Weisswald, Head of Medicine (Teaching 2, Material 4)
Ludwig Weisswald, Master of the Unseen (Material 4, Arcane 8)
Alexandra Schwarz, Schwarz Family Attache (Material 9)
Skills:
Surgeries and Exsanguinations: Surgery entails the flow of blood, and flowing blood entails purification. Beware, though, for that goes both ways, still as winter or alive as spring. (SEASON 4, SMOKE 0) (Usable by Ludwig Weisswald)
Assists:
2 Funds: Your capital. You will receive a certain amount of funds at the start of every school year. The amount depends on your Notoriety, Education, and the Upkeep of your structures. (1 Material)(You will receive 2 more Funds on Turn 3. You can assign as many funds to an action as you want, ignoring the Assist limit.)
ACTIONS:
Department of Medicine:
Teach Your Students: Do your job and teach your students. You won't start opening their minds to the Lores and Principles, but there is time. (Required: Teaching 2)(Teach your students about medicine)
Teach The Lores: Do your job and teach your students. Of course, you could also slip into the lessons some tidbits about Life, Death, and Seasons. Just softening them up, really. (Required: Teaching 2, SEASON 2)(Teach your students about medicine, Give them a SEASON mystery)
Surgery Masterclass: You are probably the best surgeon in the world. Thanks to the Lores, sure, but you still are. Still, you think that you can create a Masterclass: a course that is head and shoulders above the rest of the world. That said, your students are still far from learning about surgery. (Required: Teaching 4, Surgeries and Exsanguination Skill)(Create the Surgery Masterclass. Gain Notoriety, Education, and chance of Suspicion)
Search for Unique Students: The pearls in the mud, the stars in the sky. There could be someone more between all those students. Your college's reputation is practically nonexistent, so the chance is small, but you could go search for someone interesting. (Required: Teaching 2 OR Arcane 2)(Find a Student character and bring them under your wing. Chance depends on Notoriety. Very low chance.)
Search for Unique Professors: The pearls in the mud, the stars in the sky. There could be someone more between all those professors. Your college's reputation is practically nonexistent, so the chance is small, but you could go search for someone interesting. All you need to do is socialize with your peers. (Required: Teaching 2 OR Arcane 2)(Find a Professor character and bring them under your wing. Chance depends on Notoriety. Very low chance.)
Administration:
Cover Your Tracks: You have not made any waves yet, but there are still traces leading back to the Weisswald family. Clean your books and cover your tracks. The other families WILL find out about you, but you don't have to make it easy for them. (Required: Material 6)(Reduce your Suspicion)
Confront the Schwarz: The Schwarz family is everything you could have asked for. They are also not loyal to you. Yet you could change that. Show them that you can grant them their greatest desire, the Unseen Arts. Dangle the Lores in front of them. (Required: ANY LORE 2)(The Schwarz family is open to listening to you. Can now train the Schwarz family in the Lores)
Teaching Spree: Due to a lack of resources and your insistence on being a professor, you are now forced to teach your students every semester or have them unprepared for the medical world. You could also hire a whole host of new professors to take your place if you don't mind the tightening budget. (Required: Material 4, 1 FUND)(The Teach Your Students action is automatically completed every turn.)
Hiring The Best: Due to a lack of resources and your insistence on being a professor, you are now forced to teach your students every semester or have them unprepared for the medical world. You could also divine for professors who are good at teaching and are compatible with the Lores. Of course, that could result... expensive. (Required: Material 4, Arcane 4)(Find a Professor character and hire them. Cost and chance depend on Notoriety.)
Standard Investing: You lack funds. Money makes the world go round, and you will need funds in the future. Send the Schwarz family to invest the little funds you have. They will limit themselves to public and legal opportunities, not rocking the boat so to speak. (Required: Material 6, 2 FUNDS)(Gain a random amount of funds. Chance depends on the amount of Material used)
Family Investing: You lack funds. Money makes the world go round, and you will need funds in the future. Send the Schwarz family to invest the little funds you have. They will use the avenues being part of a Family opens you, gaining without doubt bigger profit. It might signal to the other families that you are there, though. (Required: Material 6, 2 FUNDS)(Gain a random amount of funds. Chance depends on the amount of Material used. Chance of Suspicion)
Research:
Erect Wards: Protection is paramount in your world, and a ward is essential. Erect your defenses. -Arcane Wards: You are an old hand at wardcrafting. This won't be a problem for you. Of course, the more reagents you can buy the stronger the Ward will be, and the other families are more than familiar with arcane wards. (Requires: 5 Arcane)(Erect standard protections on the College. Strength of the wards depends on amount of Funds used and amount of Arcane used) -Seasonal Wards: This here is new ground for you. How exciting! Try to make a ward that will ensure good health and weather for those inside, while assuring illness or even death to those invading. This will be weaker than an arcane ward, but the other family will have no experience with such a new ward. (Requires: Arcane 4, SEASON 2)(Erect SEASON protections on the College. Strength of the wards depends on the amount of Funds used and amount of SEASON used)
Search For Lore: Now that you know what you are searching for, it is time to look for more artifacts and books related to the Lores. And it won't be strange for a College to look for books, right? That said, you will need to be present: only you know what you are searching for. (Required: Material 4, ANY LORE 2, 1 FUND)(Search for Lore Artifacts and Books. Chance and Efficacy, and Cost depends on the amount of Material, Funds, and Lore used. Chance of Suspicion.)
Make a Journal: Now that you are truly researching the Lores, it is time to put your discovery black on white. Start a research journal. (Required: ANY LORE 2)(Create a Lore Assist.)
Study Your Skill: Since you have discovered the SEASON your surgery skills have become literally supernatural. Yet you know that something is missing. A facet of your skill is closed to you, and that won't do. Study your skill and push it to the max. (Required: Surgeries and Exsanguination Skill)(???)
Study Yourself: Since you have discovered the SEASON you have... changed. You yourself have not noticed such, but the rest of your family has more than once remarked on your changes. Study yourself, and the influence of SEASON on its practitioners. (Required: Ludwig Weisswald)(???)
