GALACTIC WAR
Victory Points: 5
RESOURCES
TERRAN DOMINION [Background] (1)
The men and material of the Dominion - limited, but they're mustering as we speak.
ALLIANCE EXPEDITIONARY FORCES [Mastery] (1)
While you have access to several ACUs of every faction, they lack economic and technological support to be fully effective.
ZERG HIVE [Mastery] (1)
The scant few Zerg you control that are free of Amon's influence. Mostly Zerglings.
AEON FLEET [Background] (1)
While half a dozen CZARs seem impressive, they're not actually well made for ship to ship combat.
ALLIED COHESION [Motivation] (1)
The alliance is fragile and weak.

[x] Write-in: (telepathically)Kerrigan, A dark Swarm her would be nice.(vocally) Artanis, Stasis field, NOW!
Drop a dark Swarm over your position, and lock Aldaris rear in stasis, take a few heat off, and request some EMP from any Science Vessel to knock his shield out.

The write in is fine save that you don't have any science vessels to call on!

[X] ...that's a telepathic force field, focused primarily on stopping you. And you don't fight alone. Raise your voice: "Major! Shoot that man."

[X] Show Aldaris what you can do - sprint straight for him as fast as you can, shadow-step around his defenses, and take his head with your psi blades.

I remember something earlier in this chapter. Sam can analyze DNA based on tasting it. Sam also knows that the Protoss that don't reject it and become Dark Templar have a connection to a metaphorical psychic tree. And finally, Sam isn't as desensitized to death as this sector of the galaxy is, she has caused her own amount of it remotely through her command but hasn't been exposed to it as much in person.

[X] Write In "Walk The Lion:" Use your new zerg biology to analyze Fenix's DNA so you can use Biomorphic Spawning to restore his ruined body to its prime. Use your Telepathic Dominion to find his consciousness and cradle it until it's vessel is suitable for taking it back. Assuming this doesn't overheat us, use Back To Back to give Matt the order to shoot Aldaris and allow any other allies to act in this moment. If there was heat to spare before, then using Regeneration to remove Crush would also be handy.

I think the rejection of death of an ally, of someone she wanted to live, to be a trauma response in the moment that would fit anyone brought up on the UEF koolaid.

But if viable, I much prefer this:

FENIX LIVES! *STOMP STOMP*

I also think this would be cool if allowed.

I think Aldaris is the only goal here - we need to eliminate him to stop him from ordering the Protoss to hunt us down, but then we can just run away and let the Archon shake its little burny fists at us.

(I'm actually tempted to make a write in where we just run away right now, get Fenix to medical attention, and kill Aldaris later from the comfort of an ACU chair, but I'd feel bad about starting a Protoss civil war and then immediately running away.)

I'm going to allow that write in! (Also, it's the secret fourth option that I was gonna put in then went, "nah, I wanna see if anyone figures it out" because I'm a cruel and distant father figure)

Nothing was mentioned mechanically about Fenix getting whacked, so I don't know what we can do about saving him, I am all for that, though.

I don't really like the idea that we can just fix Fenix up perfectly. We don't have any experience with that and this is a stressful moment.

Here's what I want, tho:

[x] Plan: Like a Fenix
-[x] Major, shoot that man!
-[x] Use our psychic powers, first aid skills and our Biomorphic Spawning to give Fenix the best chance of living long enough for a medic to turn up.

Mechanically, a diff 10 enemy hit him with 7 damage, which means his durability and his difficulty are overcome, and with enough excess for it to lead to a sticky spark (since it stacks) which would make it permanent (I.E, dead!)

[X] Show Aldaris what you can do - telepathically rip apart his defenses, regenerate a new heart, and then swarm and get ready to tear him limb from limb.

We do kinda need a new heart like now. Please. Seriously. Please. Now.

Heh, maybe the details don't help me make a plan because that's not very clear to me!

When two NPCs fight, you compare their difficulties and characteristics exactly like how a PC vs NPC fight goes, save NPCs don't have the heat track (which lets them add to their result.) So, functionally, the Archon had a skill result of 10, utilizing a Damage characteristic of 7 versus a difficulty of 10 and a Durability characteristic of 6.

Which means he would succeed in hitting Fenix with 1 extra Damage characteristic left over!

Saving Fenix would be great.
