I've never heard if this setting so I googled the
wiki to get a basic overview. This sounds like it will very fun.
Looks like our race controls a lot. It obviously controls our relationship with society but it also points to what type of crime we did to get to this point, which in turn will affect our knowledge with less public parts of the world. One thing that wiki overview made clear is that we legitimately did the crime in question. Why we did the crime is undecided, but we 100% did something worthy of the death penalty.
Let me try to guess what kinds of crime each choice might have done.
To be sent to Branderscar, you must have attempted to challenge that status quo in some significant way.
This is vague but my first instinct is Heresy, Sedation, or High Treason, long shot is Desertion.
To see an elf condemned to Branderscar is a rare and scandalous thing, for it means that even one of Talingarde's most worthy scions saw fit to turn against the crown.
Whatever we did would be especially vile. High Treason, Consorting with the Dark Powers (Witchcraft), Desecration, Heresy, or Grave Robbing.
Those humans sent to Branderscar are almost invariably guilty of transgressing against this dominant faith in some ways, and such flagrant heresy carries the death penalty.
This is clearly religion related. Which is mostly the same list as elf. Consorting with the Dark Powers (Witchcraft), Desecration, Heresy, or Grave Robbing.
For one of them to commit a crime dire enough to be sent to Branderscar is all but unprecedented.
This is the most vague but as an outsider to their society I'm leaning towards the more overt stuff. Arson, Murder and Kidnapping.
To be sent to Branderscar, you did more than simply break the Talirean's rules - you made them afraid.
Now this one interests me. Is this a subjugated second class citizen rising up, or someone from the unconquered tribes coming out and reminding the world there is a reason they will never win? That really changes what crimes would be most fitting.
[X] An Orc
[X] A Human
Human because I want to knock this Shining Lord off their pedestal. Orc because I'm hoping we are from the unconquered tribes and are out to burn the world to ash.
