Well, this probably went as well as it could while still being a failure at the things we actually set out to accomplish. Success at competency based roll while failing at the rolls that represent more chance based happenings is really shaping up to be the Yuuki experience.
As they say, always look on the bright side of life, which more often than not means Mitsu. At least she found a neat convention to check out. I wonder if we can accompany her there as part of The Way, or something. I wouldn't want to miss a giddy Mitsu for the world.
Anyway, no reason not to make a potentially useful contact.

Perhaps in a gentler world, bringing a gun on causal outings would have been concerned overkill, but this was the 2080s. Not having a piece on you in case things went down was asking to be flatlined on the streets of Kagoshima.
This was incredibly evident when Mitsu gasped and tugged at your arm, pointing eagerly at an advertisement billboard. "Kami above, they're hosting a blade convention in a few week's time! I surely must mark the fated day down so that I may be in attendance!"
And now many were watching you with hawkish glares when you stepped to the counter top. You sauntered up to the bartender and plainly ordered a drink, which they provided after a moment's thought. A strange clear liquid was poured out into cups and pushed at you, an unknown spirit that was perhaps a test or trial for those watching.
The scarred woman laughed at the sight and smooched her lips together mockingly. "Little guard dog, huh? How adorable," She teased, getting a heated stare from your partner in return.
I can't think of a single reason why we, a fixer. Would say no to mercenary contacts, like, this just seems a really good idea? She's even got a ship as a plothook for future shenanigans somehow! If we took a job that kept away from the criminal underground I would be more hesitant, but as fixer we are going to be in deep no matter what. Might as well make it as comfy as possible for us!

[X] [Shuiwei] Share your call number for not just word on the media opportunity, but others in the future.
Your eyes flashed with the personal connection request and Shuiwei's did as well when she accepted it to receive your contact details. "Let's keep in touch then," You smoothly suggested with a nod. "I think we can do some good business together not just this time, but for the future. I may very well need some mercenaries some day or another."
"Don't we all? Good thing there's so many Edgerunners willing to do anything for the right price." The one eyed woman flashed a grin and turned to the bartender. "A special occasion cause for our specialty, don't you think?"
That got not just you to perk up, but many others around the establishment. The bartender sighed, then reached down to pull out a crate of mismatched glass bottles of different makes, all of them corked with some sort of drink within. Even Mitsu couldn't help but pay attention now. "What poison is this?"
"Only the finest my folk can make on their boats!" Shuisei laughed and picked one up to pull the cork off with her teeth. She spat it out and then paused, looking at you first. "Go on, grab one. Let's see if you can handle a real drink now! First one to chicken out has to pay for a round!"
There was a round of cheers before you could say anything and you sighed, mentally checking your bank account. You glanced at Mitsu who took a bottle herself and sniffed at it before giving a slight nod, perhaps assured it wasn't going to just kill you in one go. As it was, when you uncorked the bottle, your nose scrunched up from how potent it was and you sucked in a deep breath, ignoring the conventional wisdom of avoiding alcohol with your rather frail body.
Hopefully, Mitsu could just drag you home if it really was that bad. You said your prayers, then downed the dirnk.
Your mouth was swiftly filled with the vilest of brews yet and you nearly choked, barely swallowing it down and slamming the bottle back on the bar, nearly cracking it in the process. Almost instantly already, your vision began to swam and you coughed, feeling dizzy and nauseated. But it wasn't just you.
"Holy shit!" Shuiwei, of all people, slammed her bottle down onto the counter as well with a near-identical expression of deep regret written in her face. "Fuck, I thought I- urk- told to toss this bad one...out. Oh. Oh kami."
Suddenly the enthusiasm around the bar died down quite quickly and many were slowly backing away, returning back to their regular drinks. Meanwhile, the niece of the bar owner let out another storm of curses before meeting your eyes with an apologetic look. Or the closest thing she could muster to it while looking very green. "I...gah...hope you'll forgive this mistake. Shit, I swear, it's normally better than this-!"
"It's rather mundane, don't you think?" Both you and Shuiwei turned slowly with wide eyes to see Mitsu sipping from the bottle nonchalantly, like it was just some common fizzy drink. "I do rather enjoy the tang of sea salt, but maybe a little less on the yeast, perhaps. Unless such bitterness was your intent." She sipped at it again and hummed thoughtfully, as if she were a sommelier.
The formerly cocky mercenary dealer stared disbelievingly and opened her mouth to likely protest, only for suddenly clam them shut and her cheeks to suddenly bulge out. Shuiwei all but leapt off her seat then and headed to the back, disappearing through a door and staying there for the rest of the night. The sounds of clear upheaval made the collected mercenaries in the bar wince, clearly counting their blessings in that somebody else drew the joker first.
For your part, you just stared in Mitsu, then was reminded that she was a young woman who regularly ate the greasiest foods from an English pub a few blocks down...for breakfast. She even called it a 'light snack.' Her stomach must be made of iron at this point, perhaps even more superior to a cyberware one at that. Yet her lean figure showed no signs of any of it, perhaps a little bonus from burning up so much energy when using her Sandevistan?
You wondered how much she just burned when she became a blur to catch you just right before you fell off, then realized the world was getting blurry around you. "Think it's time we go home," You managed to mumble out and Mitsu sighed.
"Indeed. Come, try to stay awake. Tell me what you wish to do next week.'

--[ ] Red Spider Lily: The Lycoris flower, the undeniable flower closest to symbolizing who you are before, now, and forever more. Its presence is enough to invigorate you like never before, and you find yourself giving it your very best. Action Effect: Yuuki gains one (1) rerolls for this action. This is doubled if Excellent quality. ---[ ] Normal: 0 (Value: 1,000eb)
---[ ] Good: 0 (Value: 1,500eb)
---[ ] Excellent: 0 (Value: 2,000eb)
- Yuuki is a very frail flower. Just a strong gust of wind, and she'll be knocked over. Good thing then that you've got Mitsu to keep you rooted.
- Note that at this stage, repairing it is just getting the van mobile with a working engine. It does not include any sort of renovations or interior retrofitting, so it'll be able to get you somewhere (very noisily and slowly), but aside from raw storage space, not much else for the moment. Going further is going to require somebody with a lot more tech know-how regarding vehicle modification.
Six hour moratorium to make a weekly plan after a hangover.
Well lets finish getting the dang van mobile at least, maybe the vendetta's know a vehicle man? we should ask Erika next turn maybe. Get international standard for coffee+. Then get started on the lycoris sighting and then continue the media questline.
Yuuki carrying hard the first half, only to need Mitsu to close it out is honestly kind off adorable? I wasn't sold on the pair at the beginning, beginning an entirely new life with no contacts would have been fascinating. But this is becoming very cute and natural now. It's been developing nicely! Also the atmosphere in the bar was funny. Wonder what they're thinking about the cute girls being badass?

-[X] [Kagoshima Fragrance] International Standard
-[X] [Flower Cultivation] Ocha Plantation
Lets finish fixing the van so that it will at least be functional, and actually work at our cafe to make some money to cover the expenses, as well as get new seeds and actual good coffee for our cafe.
I'll take a hard drink, if it means Mitsu gets to show off. Legends shall be told about her mighty tummy!
As for the van, honestly, while I kinda want to get it over with, I find it hard to get myself to put another action into it immediately. Especially seeing how it could turn out to be a failed roll anyway and getting it ready one turn earlier or later won't really make a difference. Meanwhile, every passing turn is one flowers could be growing and Yuuki could have her nose in a skill book. It's about time we stock up on those.

Pretty much what I want.
Not a fan of the van but with only 1 action left, better put that rustbucket in motion, be only to focus on something else later.
Well, given the occasion an idea popped into my head and I figured I could make a little bit out of it. It's not much, but maybe it can be a nice little get well gift.
Yuuki had honed her blade for this day. She followed Mitsu down to the dojo. With how excited her partner had gotten the moment she was asked to join her for morning practice, it was hard for Yuuki to maintain her own composure. She felt guilty for the pretense, but she had put too much preparation into today to back out now.
Her chance to strike arrived soon. Just as they entered the arena and Mitsu skipped towards one of her bokken, Yuuki went to grab one of the tempered blades she had stashed away the night before. With a yell to draw Mitsu's attention, she swung the sword right at the other woman's head.
Mitsu whirled around, initially more confused than anything. Once she noticed the attack about to strike her face, her cyberware activated by pure instinct. With her accelerated perception giving her the time to properly assess the situation, Mitsu leaned forward and caught the blade with her mouth.
The chocolate blade shattered between her teeth. She happily began chewing on its broken remains.
"Happy Valentine's Day, Mitsu!" Yuuki said and picked up a bag holding another sword. The first one had been little more than a proof of concept. Now she kneeled in front of her partner and revealed her final product.
Words failed the samurai, so it was with a pleased moan that she gingerly picked up the chocolate katana presented to her. One hand grabbed the red painted handle, with a thumb gently running over the heart shaped tsuba. The other lovingly ran along the shiny black blade.
She started swinging the sword, at first tentatively out of fear that it would snap. With each strike, her confidence in its durability increased and her movements became more vigorous. Mitsu ended her practice by lunging at Yuuki. Instead of returning the earlier strike, she scooped up her partner in a hug. "Thank you! It might not be a true warrior's instrument, but it's a beautiful piece of art nonetheless. In fact, I fear your craftsmanship might be too fine. Food it may be, but my heart aches at the thought of biting into this blade as well."
Yuuki returned the hug with a chuckle. "We can worry about that another time. For now I'm just happy you like it. Let's hope it's a good sign for today's service."
"I'm sure your efforts will bear fruit today. Tis a day of love after all and none could deny the passion with which you've built your establishment."
"I'll take your word for it. Actually, I'm sorry to have gotten your hopes up for practice, but how about I make you a cup of hot chocolate?"
"Fear not, the way is as patient as it is long. Warm up your skills for today's battle. We shall resume your training in due time. Lead the way!"
Shortly afterwards they were back in the cafe, with Yuuki behind the counter preparing cups of hot cocoa and whipping cream and Mitsu seated at one of the tables. Given the occasion, the shop had been decorated to accommodate couples, but seeing her partner surrounded by roses and candlelight made Yuuki wonder. How much money was there in a cute maid handing out valentine's chocolate?
The idea was banished by the time she set the cup down in front of Mitsu and sat down across from her. The customers aside, Mitsu was too innocent to make some quick eddies that way.
"Thank you very much for the beverage." Mitsu took a deep swig of the hot chocolate.
"You know, I really am grateful for all your help, Mitsu," Yuuki said, chin resting on one of her hands and fondly watching her partner. "I couldn't imagine someone I'd rather have at my side. So thank you. Thank you for having stepped on the train to Kagoshima with me, thank you for having stayed with me since and thank you for always having my back. Oh, and of course, thank you for being so cute in a maid outfit. It really helps around the cafe." She finished with a wink.
Mitsu threw her head back. Ostensibly to finish her drink in one go, but it also hid her face behind her cup. It might even have hidden her blush, if it didn't spread all the way across her ears. Eventually she lowered her cup again. "I consider myself quite blessed by our partnership as well."
"That's good to know." Yuuki ran her thumb over Mitsu's upper lip to wipe away the streak of cream and chocolate that had formed. Then she licked her thumb clean.
"Ah! Please excuse me. I just remembered that I've forgotten to present my own offerings." Mitsu fled up the stairs without waiting for a response.
Yuuki watched her go with satisfaction carrying just a hint of concern that she might have teased Mitsu a bit too much. She could never resist the urge when it came to her partner.
It was a relief when Mitsu returned shortly afterwards. She came rushing back down with the same breakneck speed and just barely managed to skid to a halt in front of Yuuki. She thrust a small package hand wrapped in paper with a flower motive towards the other woman. "My artistic skills may pale in comparison to yours, but I hope these sweets are sufficient as a token of thanks for all you have done for this humble warrior."
"Consider your feelings received." Yuuki took the package and cradled it against her chest with one hand. The other hand she held out to Mitsu.
Their fingers intertwined. Their eyes meet. Their cheeks redden.
"There's still some time until the cafe opens," Yuuki said.
"Then mayhaps we can stay like this for a while longer."
"I'd like that. Say, today aside, you're going to stay with me, right? Or are you feeling your wanderlust acting up?"
"Consider my blade yours for as long as you desire it."
"Great." Yuuki gave Mitsu's hand a squeeze. "In that case, you're stuck with me."
"A most pleasant arrangement. Though, mayhaps it would be nice for the two of us to go on a pilgrimage to broaden our horizons."
"A vacation with just the two of us, eh? That sounds lovely."
Yuuki spent a long time with Mitsu. -For those wondering, the initial idea was the chocolate sword that turned to the teeth blade catch and then I kept going from there.
-Right until I ended things out on a Persona social link style line. I guess it was on my mind after Persona 3 Reload added a higabana to its opening and I remembered that one of the MC's names is Yuki.
-On which note, I guess Mitsu's arcana would be Chariot?
Well, given the occasion an idea popped into my head and I figured I could make a little bit out of it. It's not much, but maybe it can be a nice little get well gift.
Oh, this is wonderful! Thank you, it definitely helps perk up my mood in these stressful times. It really has the same vibes as the wedding dress drama cd between Chisato and Takina.
