A good weaver does not only work on the fabric, but the narrative threads as well. This is a disguise that proposes a past of bloodshed under a vibrant and resilient present. This is a disguise that disarms - its implied weakness and its life, intentionally exposed, luring observers to a sense of security - while simultaneously possessing a hardness and edge that can ward off those who would otherwise underestimate us - the common crook or the lowly criminal preying on the weak and frail.

As for non-Material material spending: Kjeragians currently don't look upon outsiders well, so it's better to blur into the crowd; if Kjeragandr isn't opposed to us, she shan't be opposed to this. The Kit of Sewing Supplies is one lacking in quality - since our next location (or our location very soon, anyway) will be a populated city, we can probably buy something more worthy for our craft there. Full of life is just to add spice and zeal to our disguise (more is always better), and 1 point(?) of Wounds won't be very hard to heal from, given time.

[X] Visit Mr Apples

Though I am admittedly very curious about Mr Cards - after all, this will be the second FLPC we (as in we the audience, not Veils) get to meet, and definitely the first we meet in person rather through memories, I am more curious as to what effect dear Mr. Happles will have. After all, the latter 3 are very obvious Ambition tie-ins: BaL (and possibly LF), Nem, and HD, respectively. What will this two-faced former coleqgue of ours bring to the proverbial table, and the literal dining table?

Plan's been given a slight edit prior to your post (Cheerfulness replaced with A visible expression) to use up the three materials.
Also, the Master to visit is separate from the plan/you didn't add a Master vote.

[X] Visit Mr Apples

I like the plan and am always down to hear more about how Mr. Apples is doing.

[X] The Shadow of Once Was Great.
-[X] Male
-[X] An eyepatch.

Basically, I want to create the illusion of a retired military affiliated man, who left the battlefield after the war taking a toll on him, leaving an eye to that hell on earth.
Over the years, he became the shadow of his former self, but he still have a little bit of a kick in him.
We are the Schemer after all. Doesn't it make sense for us to look like one and not a brute?

[X] Visit Mr Apples

I like the sound of that name.

@thenew, now that we're on the whole disguise business, are we gonna be able to pitch our voice to fit it? Or is Veils still gonna keep his (presumably) squeaky voice common to all Curators?

Oh, you can pitch your voice to fit in, yes, you don't have just the squeaky voice at your disposal. That's canon!
Talk like Mr Veils - Bag a Legend said:
Its voice cannot be mistaken, deep and grating and terribly loud. Could your throat possibly emit such a noise?

Your throat rasps, and your vocal cords are... is it possible for them to be engorged? Every syllable hurts to produce; every sentence makes you angry at the imbeciles who invented speech. Even swallowing is pain. Why should people want to talk to one another anyway? SILENCE. SILENCE BETTER.
The voice of the Vake - Bag a Legend said:
A voice, squeaky and gritty and incredibly loud, slices through the dark.
Veils can sound deep, if it wants to! Voice is an essential part of those identity things, no? And isn't that just a veil, of sorts?

One might note that Veils doesn't exactly find human language (or perhaps spoken language in general) pleasant to use, as the quote above shows. There's a reason it's very monossylabic when it is in a more comfortable state. You retain a bit of that, but your added humanity as the Intriguer made words easier to grasp. Way less painful.

[X] Visit Mr Apples

Gains:
  • 7 Committed Impersonator
  • Slightly reduced Wound build-up
Consumables Used and Consequences:
  • 3 Materials
  • 1 Mystery of the Snow
  • 1 Kit of Sewing Supplies
  • Slight Wounds
Initially, I had the idea of impersonating our Hunter for the comedy of it, but I couldn't recall any hard descriptions of her so I made this instead.

While this does use up a lot of our resources, I think it's worth it for when Veils inevitably finds itself with civilization again. We shouldn't hoard items when we want to make as good of a first impression as possible, especially when those items can be replenished and aren't unique.

7 CI is 2 above the minimum required, and this disguise has a very good excuse as to why they can't seemingly remember basic facts about the country they're in and neatly explains why she woke up in the snow. Let people connect the dots, and they'll decieve themselves by thinking of the obvious conclusion.

Kjera's mountains are dangerous, and be it from a fight or a accident, someone who fell could suffer from amnesia thanks to a head injury. We even have the scars to prove it! A frail looking body also plays into that, and when combined with being cheerful and expressive despite the hardship, will hopefully make people more patient with Veils and want to help it out by appealing to their protective instincts.

Information is vital for our survival, and this allows us to gather it without arousing suspicion even when we ask basic facts that everyone should know already.

Lastly, while there is a drawback of some minor wounds, resilient means that we'll have a lot of time to address that, it further helps sell the lie of post-traumatic amnesia, and also potentially further appeals to people's protective instincts.
