GALACTIC WAR
Victory Points: 5
RESOURCES
TERRAN DOMINION [Background] (1)
The men and material of the Dominion - limited, but they're mustering as we speak.
ALLIANCE EXPEDITIONARY FORCES [Mastery] (1)
While you have access to several ACUs of every faction, they lack economic and technological support to be fully effective.
ZERG HIVE [Mastery] (1)
The scant few Zerg you control that are free of Amon's influence. Mostly Zerglings.
AEON FLEET [Background] (1)
While half a dozen CZARs seem impressive, they're not actually well made for ship to ship combat.
ALLIED COHESION [Motivation] (1)
The alliance is fragile and weak.

[X] Ask if you can kill Duran, please (diff 2 Charm check.)

Both because he has it coming and because it has a decent chance of showing Sarah he's not who he claims to be.

"...I gotta ask Sarah about that," you muttered. If you were getting psychic powers, you wanted to have her tell you how to avoid melting your fucking brain. You might not trust Sarah, but you had at least decided to put the past behind you. For now. After all, the Swarm might need liberation itself someday. You weren't sure if you'd end up needing to free the Zerg from Sarah or from Daggoth or from both - but from Cr and the Overlord and what you'd heard from Zagara, you were fairly sure that Daggoth was the bigger threat for now.
Clarke has learned about revolution for one day, and is already considering splitting. Progress.

I doubt Dostya can undo the effects of infestation with a single fucking conversation
[:V] Announce you have become a Cybran, and declare the left forward rib of the Leviathan an independent commune.

[X] Try and talk her into being more open. You can be diplomatic as fuck if you need to be. (Diff 5 Charm check, 1 heat)

Wake up and choose violence

Do we have an in-character reason to want Duran dead that doesn't also apply to Sarah? I don't know of one.

Let's do a proper plan:

[X] Plan Fuck Duran
-[X] Try and talk her into being more open. You can be diplomatic as fuck if you need to be. (Diff 5 Charm check, 1 heat)
-[X] Ask if you can kill Duran, please (diff 2 Charm check.)
-[X] Tease Sarah by announcing you have become a Cybran, and declare the left forward rib of the Leviathan an independent commune.

[X] Plan Fuck Duran

I'm pretty sure a difficulty 2 charm check is not going to get Sarah to agree with us killing Duran. At a guess I'd say it's for how she reacts to us asking.

[X] Plan Fuck Duran
*not literally, ew

[X] Plan to agree to the stealth mission - but betray her when you arrive. (Diff 10 lying check - 10 heat, heavily overheats you.)

But as far as we know, Duran is Sarah's subordinate. His actions on the E1 and his hostility to us are Sarah's responsibility.

If we ask to kill Duran then IMO we're telling Sarah that we think she is not competent to control her subordinates or that she should be killed for making the choices she made.

Here's the info we have about Duran and the E1:

"And the E1?"

"Duran handled that," Sarah said. "He killed Stukov and two other officers. One, he just crippled. Which, I think means that they're fine - Scourge hit the ship. Damaged the engines and hull, but nothing seemed to penetrate as far as Duran could tell, and the medbay wasn't even fully stocked before they got yanked out by the Arbiters. Past that...I don't know."

You frowned. You laid back, letting your elbows prop you up.

Lots to think about. Lots to be angry about. Lots to be thankful for. Lots to...

Lots to not trust.

You didn't like Duran's smell. His name stunk every time it came up. But Sarah seemed to take his words as read.

You didn't like that.

Isn't it hypocritical to try and get someone to open up after we voted to have Sam be more closed off?

In my current Quest, one turn people voted to call a character for help, and in the next voted just to hang up after finding out what that character's terms were, so it's not unheard of.

[X] Plan Fuck Duran

If you are thinking of the "Try and talk her into being more open" part of the list it isn't about being more emotionally open in a relationship. Rather it is more about saying "Hey, I get that this is the way you have done things in the past but I am not about to lie to and then betray the Protoss. Stop being a sneaky thief and let me just talk with them."

If anything, it is Sam expressing more of her backbone which would follow with her resolve.

Also, ya'll voted on her being angry at the UEF, not at herself exactly. So, she's gonna be against lying and deception since she now associates that with the UEF.

I want to keep Duran around long enough for the betrayal mosh pit

That's more or less why I'm not voting for it. I hope that that choice is more joking than anything else, but I don't think Sam would do that after what Duran did to the E1 (and especially not after what DC just clarified).

If we want to start building bridges for a future of coexistence, now seems an excellent time to start, with our past actions for rather than against us for these protoss and a common enemy to work against.

Besides, uh.
"Hi! I know you probably thought I was dead, but I escaped! Somehow! And got allll the way over here, somehow, and for some reason! And I would really like your help fighting the main rival of the Queen of Blades, for reasons that definitely do not involve me working for the Queen of Blades!"

[X] Write In: Ask about what exactly is going on with Duran... and how much we can actually trust him.

...Actually but also:
[X] Plan Fuck Duran
:D
