It is the year 1535 Post Exodus and humanity has reached the stars, colonizing hundreds of new worlds. Grav gates, giant rings that create wormholes across the galaxy, have created a thriving interstellar civilisation. But the dream of a fresh, peaceful start for humanity, the hope that old grievances would fade into the endless expanse of the void, was shattered by the reality of human nature. Conflicts and wars erupt among humanity once more as new grievances are born, people fighting for their own interests and ideals.
The ultimate weapon of this era is the Aerospace Mech, a twelve meter tall humanoid war machine that can fly and fight in any environment. The pilots of these mechs are the new knights, the heroes and villains of this age, who risk their lives in the battlefield for glory, honor, duty, or money.
One of the hotspots of this age of conflict is the Segara Tentrem system, a remote region ruled by the Segaran Monarchy from the crown world of Muara Raja, the sole life-bearing planet orbiting its star. The system was divided by the unfair policies of the Segaran Monarchy, who favored the inner planets over the Rembulan Realms sorrounding the system's two gas giants. The tension reached a boiling point in 1530 when the royal family was assassinated in a coup, with only the Raden Ajeng, the crown princess, surviving to ascend to the throne. In the same breath, the Rembulan Realms declared their independence, led by the rebel leader Waji Raihan Simanjuntak, second cousin of the heir to the throne, who was captured and imprisoned by the loyalists in the following years.
The war raged on for three years, with both sides fighting for control of the system, and attracting the attention of mercenaries, corporations, and other powers from the core systems drawn in by blood and the bank accounts of the noble houses, ready to sell their deadly services. In 1533, the Central Systems Treaty Alliance, a coalition of the oldest and most influential systems in human space, intervened with their military force, the Central Systems Treaty Alliance Fleet, to stop the bloodshed and enforce a ceasefire by passing resolution 875-C. They established the three-point line, a boundary at the asteroid belt that no military force could cross, before they returned home, leaving only a small peacekeeping contingent behind.
But the peace was fragile and temporary. The grievances and resentment still simmered, and the core corporations that had come with the CSTAF found a situation ripe for exploitation, building up assets and selling weapons to both sides, under the pretext of fighting piracy. CSTAF watched from afar, ready to intervene again if necessary.
The Segara Tentrem system is a powder keg waiting to explode, and all it takes is a single spark. You are a Mech pilot at the dawn of the new conflict, and your choices will shape the fate of the system. Who will you fight for? What ideals will you fight for?
Which faction are you a pilot for? (Vote for one. As the story progresses, depending on how it goes, there will be chances to switch allegiances or even ally your starting faction with one of the others)
[]The Central Systems Treaty Alliance Fleet
CSTAF stands as the formidable military arm of the Central Systems Treaty Alliance. Renowned as the premier force of the core systems, CSTAF is the enforcer of core interests throughout civilized space. While only a modest peacekeeping force remains in the Segaran System to uphold the three-point line, their cutting-edge equipment and unparalleled training make them a force to be reckoned with.
[]The Segaran Royal Army
The Segaran Royal Army is the martial backbone of the Segaran Monarchy, standing ready to defend the crown world and the new Raja's dominion. Fueled by loyalty to the monarchy, they strive to bring the rebels to heel and expunge all foreign influence. Their heritage is steeped in tradition, and their domestically produced mechs and warships serve as a symbol of the monarchy's strength.
[]The Rembulan Rebels
The Rembulan Rebels emerged from the outer moon realms of the Segaran System, rallying against the perceived injustices and vassal contracts favoring the inner system. Fueled by a desire for independence and loyalty to their imprisoned liege, they resist the royal establishment.
[]Independent Mercenaries
Independent Mercenaries are freelancers, drawn by the allure of profit and adventure. Operating outside the confines of allegiance to nations or corporations, these pilots and their mechs are for hire to the highest bidder. Whether driven by personal gain, ideals, or simply the thrill of battle, independent mercenaries are a unpredictable wildcats in the threatre of war.
[]Pirates
Pirates, the lawless marauders of space, thrive on chaos and anarchy. Operating outside the bounds of civilization, they raid trade routes, engage in piracy, and disrupt interstellar commerce. Possessing modified civilian equipment and a cunning edge, pirates are opportunists seeking fortune and freedom in the lawless expanses.
New Botquest, yay. A bit of Armored Core 6, a bit of Muv-Luv, a bit of Project Wingman and a bit of Gundam I absorbed from second hand exposure. I have a habit of starting new quests because of brainworms and abandoning them soon after. I can't promise this will survive for long, but hey, maybe it too will become a multi-thousand word epic. Let's just all have fun. Comments and feedback sustain my soul.
