Urgh a guy in Touhou, that's disappointing considering nice first chapter, at least there's a silver lining that he's beyond worldy desires.

There's no harm to it in my experience writing it, as long as that isn't the point of the story in and of itself. Which it isn't in this case, or my other stories. I add as many males as females, they do exist in setting after all.

[X] [Educate Cirno]

Probably will not work since its Cirno but sure to be hilarious.

Because influencing Cirno of all people as bodhisattva and seeing the final result of it would be even more hilarious than a moment pleasure of ignoring her.

Also, that was a very brute-force way of entering as a guest.

From one side of the border, the shrine seems ramshackle, in a state of total disrepair. From the other side, it looks worse - outright condemned and abandoned.
You had us in the first half, not gonna lie.
The gut feeling tells me we might be having a lot of unintentional snark due to MC's way of thinking, and if it turns out to be true - I'll be enjoying every bit of it.
For those from AFiP, miss me?
Very much yes.
Glad to see you back in the Illusion, Erien.

Ah yeah, new Touhou quest!

Hmm, I wonder is us sharing a name with Byakuren coincidence? Or is something else going on with that.

Also I must agree, objectively hilarious.

For a student to receive lessons they must first be willing to listen.

We're gonna be the coolest Buddha around.

That's Myouren, I presume? Can't wait to see what shenanigans are in store Erien!

I choose to

Because ignoring her will probably make her cry and feel awful and I don't think educating will be as... Amusing? I suppose.

Ah yeah - finally time for the Buddhist faction shenanigans. I've been looking forward to this.

[X] [Ignore Cirno]

Because this just sounds hilarious.

Why not. And considering past experience this promises to be a good Touhou story. AFiP was great and seeing the same author back with a new quest is excellent.

In case you or anyone else is unaware, there was a real person named Hijiri who was a famous Buddhist monk. In Touhou lore he had a younger sister, Hijiri Byakuren. He went through his life normally, as did she following in his footsteps, until finally he reached the end of his lifespan and died. This scared the crap out of Byakuren, and so she turned to youkai magics to preserve your youth and live for a very long time/forever. However the youkai magics require youkai to work, leading to her gathering youkai followers and preaching tolerance and acceptance of youkai.

From here if she secretly was just using the youkai to preserve her youth, or if she came to truly believe in teaching them Buddhism and really is as nice as she tries to portray herself is a matter of fan opinion/interpretation. As is how good of a Buddhist she/her followers were and are in present day.

Back to the original point, it is entirely possible that we are playing as the soul/spirit of said older brother.
