You were more than happy to take some time to kick back and simply read. There was a collection of mystery tales you had been looking forward to reading when you had the time, and now you did. The adventures of the stalwart detective and his wish to help others warmed you right through. You penned letters to your friends at the same time, writing to Jackson and inquiring how things were in his investigations, to the reverend about your last encounter and your well wishes for him, and to acquaintances in the upper circles of society that you passed through.
Jackson replies to your letter with the news that he had almost completed his manuscript on your shared experiences with Peru, and hoped you would be amenable to reading through his manuscript. He had of course been quite careful about the true events, as he knew that could be dangerous, but he still felt that it would make a worthwhile book and perhaps save others from stumbling into cults.
The reverend was just as effusive and welcoming in his reply, concerned about the trouble you seemed to continually find yourself attracted towards and his hopes for better. He had found himself working with a small group of like minded reverends who focused on blessings and protections for their congregations. It was perhaps not the larger scale battles against evil you faced, but he rather enjoyed maintaining a sanctuary for those in trouble, and building resources for those who would choose to fight.
The Countess Diana von Reventlow-Criminil had reached out to you, excited to tell you about the seance she would be holding that was hoped to help reveal the truth behind the city Rungholt and its disappearance in the 14th century. Yet another acquaintance wrote of the exciting news that some strange creature was attacking and killing livestock in the farms nearby. Not close enough to bother him, but it was exciting to hear about! Perhaps a hunting party would be formed to bring the beast to justice.
Last was a letter from Elle Flynn. Your hands shook slightly as you looked at the handwritten letter from your lost friend. It was as excited and cheerful as her letters had always been, talking about how she had a starring role in a local play, and she would love for you to come and see it. She even bought you a ticket so you could come!
