I assume the Diadem is reusable? As in: once reviewed, the captured memories are cleared and another one can be captured?
And how conspicuous is it? Would it be very obvious to everybody else when we wear it what it is and how it works?

The flying dagger is very cool, but I urge people to reconsider.

The hawk is useful in a specific kind of combat that we should generally be aiming to avoid anyway (we are a sorceress, not a duellist) and that's about it.

Information, on the other hand, is always useful, and can be applied to a wide variety of purposes, offensively, and defensively. I prefer the Diadem, but both it and the mirror provide the ability to do far greater damage to our enemies on the whole (Imagine the devastation you can wreak when you can find out what someone fears most, for example), increased ability to defend ourselves against schemes (Which are both guaranteed to happen and far more likely than melee assaults against us), the ability to avoid many dangers before they strike altogether, and a far wider range of general utility.

Please, do not take the shiniest toy over the ones that are more useful.

The dagger is a part of the survival kit.
We as a Sorceress with no great melee-skills can always use a surprise for those who think closing the distance and bringing a knife to our back is a good idea.
So the dagger fills a part of anti-assassination needs.

It also acts as a passive defense via offense. When we are engaging in a battle of wills and don't concentrate on the Hunting Hawk it will still continue to attack any foes within eight paces, meaning in a fight it can become effectively an extra hand.

In tabletop terms, the Hunting Hawk adds at least a +1 Attacks in melee, and likely comes with its own damage line on the equipment list.

Not nearly as convenient though. If we're using it, we trade off any opportunity to bring bodyguards with us, both living and not.

No, I quite disagree. I don't want to see the diadem in the story because it will either remove the challenge from things that are interesting to actually do, or it'll end sidelined (because the high end is so dominating).

Just look at your argument - you're making the argument that the Diadem will let her no-sell large chunks of the social game and the conspiracies of the Covents (and of Dark Elf society in general). You're either wrong, or you're right - and if you're right yeah nah I don't want her to have that. I want those conspiracies, I want her to have to work for the things you want her to just get handed to her.

(And here's another question you should be asking - why is her abusive mentor giving her it? That's a question you should answer for all the tools. In the case of the Hunting Hawk, the answer is very simple - it's for self-defence, and a bodyguard who can follow her everywhere.)
