Not Quite Lovecraft

"Nemo, back!" you shouted. You pulled out your gun and aimed it at the intruder. Nemo fell back obediently, but kept up a low thrumming sound of warning in their throat. They did not care for someone intruding on their territory. You patted their head and watched warily as the man who'd broken in sat up, a knife in his hand. He looked at you and Nemo in pure terror. "You summon abominations!" he accused.

"What?"

"Unclean horrors from the depths! You witch!"

Well, that was insulting.

Huh. Get far enough and they start mistaking you for the villain.

We should figure out why he is here and who he is associated with however.

Well, he's actually wrong, since we don't summon things and Nemo is native to this Earth. However, why he believes his claims is likely quite the story.

[X] Ask him why was he in my house and attacking my dog.
-[X] Blatantly refuse to acknowledge anything Eldritch and insist he is demented or drug-addled.
-[X] Make arrangements to arrest him for tresspass and signal Nemo to go hide in the red realm while the constables arrive.

This would be incredibly hilarious.

"No sir, don't mind the Eldritch Witchcraft behind the curtain!"

I think we should first hear him out. If we can't get anything useful then we call the constables.

"What are you talking about? Why have you broken into my home?" you demand sharply.

The man took a deep breath. His gaze remained fixed on Nemo despite the gun that you held on him. He was aware of it, but his mind was too overwhelmed by Nemo's impossibility to watch it. "You are Oliver Heartwork, correct? The painter?"

"I am," you said slowly.

"Your paintings are cursed."

So what are our plans for this guy? If we don't manage to convince him we're friendly, how do you want to contain him?

Looks like he has a vendetta. My guess is some of the magical paintings we did like the Isis one that we sold might have awakened someone. And led them to gain second sight to see the underpannings of the mundane. And the abyss started back, something went after him in some capacity.

We could send him to the cops, but that he'd eventually get released and then crack in an asylum or return with a pitchfork and mob.
We have magical options like memory sealing.. but that's a bit unsavory. And we're obviously not killing him.

"How dare you call my art cursed, I made sure to keep all the cursed stuff private"
It's much funnier if you ask me
