I don't want to do classic Batman for one reason in particular. The Jason Todd issue was primarily caused by that thought process.
 
Honestly it was a painful pick between magic and forensic accounting, purely because the latter has Edward Nashton in it. Setting up that history early would be amazing, especially if he actually teaches Bruce a few things.

Alright, can someone please explain why they want the Joker to get away with his crimes? As well as go the boring non-magical route?

I like the idea of Disaster Bisexual Batman, and (on a more serious note) of a Batman who is willing to kill but only as a last resort, as opposed to the sort of bifurcated takes we see where he either fastidiously refuses to ever take a life or kills wantonly without any regard for what he's doing. But I'm conflicted on what sort of training to go for from here. My impulse is to continue the detective path with Forensic Accounting, but a Batman without martial arts feels incomplete, and magic is fascinating too…

To be clear, the guy got turned into pink mist by a vigilante, not charged guilty by a court of law, that's not the law, that was pure and simply vengeance

The QM has said that won't be an issue in the quest. Which makes sense; the Joker issue isn't a problem with Batman not killing, it's a Doylist artifact caused by the soap opera format of comics publishing. If Batman killed the Joker, the Joker would just come back, because the format is the issue. And this is a generational quest.

I have little interest in playing a Punisher Batman who goes around killing people.
