Worm quest set in Great Britain shortly before the start of canon.
Character Creation
Location
Southampton, Great Britain
Pronouns
He/Him
It is the start of 2011 and it has been almost thirty years since Scion's first public appearance. Since then, parahumans have risen and society has fallen. Africa and South America are in chaos and the rest of the world is in little better shape. Endbringers roam the planet, periodically attacking with devastating results each time.

The United States of America events will soon be set in motion, other stories play out on Earth-Bet. This particular story takes place on the other side of the pond as the British Isles gain a new budding superhero.
***

You are a secondary school student in their final year of school as they prepare for their final exams and you prepare to go to college next September.

What is your name?
[] Write-in.

And against all odds, you have gained superpowers over the Christmas holidays. While some ignorant fools might consider that to be a good thing, for you, it was the worst day of life and your newfound powers are a silver lining if that.

So what exactly happened to you?

What is your trigger event?
[] Write-in.

No plan voting. Both write-ins are subject to QM veto if I feel they are too silly or I don't feel comfortable writing them. The choice of name and trigger event here will determine the rest of your character such as background and powers.

If you want some advice on coming up with a trigger event, here are some sources from Weaverdice: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Uwibph29yyTtWmCP8QFv5YGMOvbm54QLw9g6qJPVsnw/edit#heading=h.oakolew1fimn & https://docs.google.com/document/d/12tImipAt6tMhokKB0bwW9h7lWdvA1pgvnUMXw2FP7JQ/edit

This is a Worm quest set in Great Britain. I was originally going to do it in a random USA city or possibly a generic made up one to give me some freedom from Brockton Bay and canon, but then I realised I don't know much about American culture. Then I realised I do know a lot about British culture as a Brit so I figured why not set the quest in Britain? Sure, it means working with limited canon info, but I can make it authentic.

Anyway, you will be playing as a newly triggered parahuman in the British Isles. You will be a hero because that's what I want to write. Your character will be in their final year of secondary school and approaching college, which will put you at the age of 16.

This initial post isn't the biggest of updates, but that is mostly because there isn't much to write yet. I don't feel like re-hashing the setting and the character will be built around the choices made in this update.

Please point out any spelling or grammar mistakes that you spot. Please quote them in the thread and explain what you think is wrong so I know what you are referring to.

Name: [x] Fioanna Mac (insert relevant clan name here)
I think being Irish and or Scottish could be fun. Annoy those English tossers and their posh fools.
Trigger Event: [x] long slow family collapse. Depending on how grim dark and what powers we want, this should be the most flexible and allow for the most varied effects to make sense. For example if we wanted tinker powers having to watch our family slowly collapse along with the shipping industry that we owned/ran/built might give us infrastructure powers.
Also this style of trigger lets us talk around issues we might not to add? Idk

[X] Henry Matthews
-[X] Henry Was was beaten and taken on the streets while on his way home from his friends house. He was to be be butchered and have his organs stolen. While strapped to a table he was not given any type of Anastashia or painkillers. So he watched and felt everything that happened to him. He prayed for a hero to come and save him but Noone did. As he watch them take something from inside him broke and he Triggered.

Is this a good write in or are more details needed.

[X] Overbearing expectations. You got into a good school based on your grades, which let you move up in the world from your lower class origins. Everyone in the family always said you were "gifted"; that you would go on to do great things, be the Blaney to strike it rich. This drove you ever harder to take on more and more work, excel further and further, even taking on excess course work over break to get ahead. But you reached too far and hit a wall; no matter what you did, how much you studied, the material refused to make sense. You agonized; this was your future, everyone depended on you to get this why can't you get this-

You triggered.

The votes needs to be on their own lines otherwise the tally doesn't detect them. And while the trigger vote is technically acceptable, it is pretty bare bones and some more details to flesh it out would be appreciated.
[X] Plan A hero was needed
[X] Plan Gifted Child
No plan voting.
( If this is also a power vote. He wakes up on his friends house just before he left. Time based powers.)
It isn't a power vote. Your powers will be determined by the QM (aka me) based on the chosen trigger event once this vote is over.

The write-in is acceptable.

Yeeesssss, I'm all for being a Celtic parahuman.

[x] You are a professional runner, and have an athletic rivalry with another runner who you often end up in events with. He's very friendly to you, but no matter how hard you train, you always fail to surpass him, and it's really starting to get to you. Another cross-country event comes up one day, and you're really feeling confident about this one- your training has been going great, and you're very familiar with the route you're running. You trash talk your rival, while he's as nice to you as always. But the race comes and goes, and you fail utterly- you're near the bottom of the rankings, and he manages to do better than he's ever done before and rank near the top. You're completely crushed. If you can't beat him here, you feel, you'll never be able to beat him ever. Your rival comes over to you, and he doesn't even have the decency to gloat- he congratulates you on your hard work. Trigger.

This is well written. It has my support.

A well written background for a trigger, dunno what kind of power that'd result from it, some flavor of Thinker for sure, but not the specifics

I was originally going to attempt to write a Tinker trigger with a sub-rating of Master, but this one speaks to me. Do bear with me, as I am one of the uncultured swine who live in America and will likely need an explanation of Britishisms.
