A riot quest where you decide the path of a fictional tribe of cavemen.

Welcome to the Neolithic! Your tribe roams an area of what would one day be known as Europe, hunting and foraging. Now, however, things are going to start changing, and it's up to you to decide what to do.

Now, where in Europe do you roam?

[]Around a large lake: Fishing, fresh water
[]In a forest: Plentiful game, less access to potential farmland
[]The mountains: Easy to defend but sparse food
[]The coast: Good fishing, at the mercy of the weather
[]The plains: Good potential for farming and ranching, less access to mineral resources

Your tribe has about a hundred members, and your labor force consists of roughly 60 adults and teenagers, the rest being elderly or too young to work.

Should this game be historical or fantastical?

[]Historical
[]Fantastical

This is a riot quest. That means you can propose any action. The more people who vote for it, the more labor will be dedicated to it. I would prefer to have a quick turnaround, so voting will typically be open for 24 hours.

[X]Fantastical
[X]The mountains: Easy to defend but sparse food

Hope we'll be able to get a bit easier access to copper and the like.

Plus I hope it's Low Fantasy over High. Don't wanna get too crazy.

dwarf fortress got my attention...sparse food is okay, we can just cultivate animals and food, as well as build our fortresses and labyrinth's of tunnels only our people shall know.

let us make the silly elves fear the might of dwarven axes!

Seems interesting, I'll give it a go.

Why yes, I do want healing magic to keep our people from dying to infection at the very least. Also it opens up a whole new host of options depending on how the magic system works. It does also present the problems of hostile supernatural beings, but it does also present the opportunity of supernatural beings.

[X]Around a large lake: Fishing, fresh water

This one gives us a renewable source of food, potentially some knowledge on shipbuilding in a controlled environment that isn't as mercurial as the ocean (we probably won't get bigger vessels than canoes without dedicated effort, and even if we did build some they might not be able to make their journey through whatever rivers the lake might be connected to, but I'll take it if it means staying out of developing mercurial pseudo-deities based on the sea, those tend to be... difficult).
The lake is also a noticeable landmark that is probably going to attract other human tribes (everyone needs water after all) so diplomacy and exchange of goods and knowledge is possible.
Through that we can become a hub for the many travelling bands of other people to meet, and even to a degree shape the customs of our geographical area (also our culture, magical and otherwise can benefit from different points of view).
Lastly, choosing fantastical makes me want to possibly 'awaken' the lake itself, we could saturate it in magic and/or worship so it becomes a god-like entity friendly to us, and/or find whatever spirit/magical creature makes its home there and get a powerful ally that way too.

Unga bunga kunga beduk zug zug

Translation: "Mmmm... yes, today is a victorious occasion for the prehistoric fantasy genre, and all lovers of piscine meals, huzzah to ferally throwing fish at rival village shamans"

crap...well time to make a giant island in the lake and then use it as our fortress!

if we cant get a moutain, we shall enlarge the lake and make it deep enough to be a small sea! then pile enough rocks to make small forts around our initial island!

we shall be all but insailible! of course, the mines will provide rocks to throw at enemy boats.

Year Zero
Your tribe has no name, the word you call yourself is the same as your word for "fisherman." You live in tents around a large lake somewhere in what would one day be known as Europe. You fish, hunt, and forage and generally make a living in such a way as to be comfortable by the standards of prehistory. But times and things are changing, and soon the torrent of history will catch you in its grasp.

A/N: The mechanics for this quest are simple. For every vote for a course of action, I will flip a coin. A heads means success. The more heads you get, the greater success. Anyone may propose an action. !You may only vote for one action! Omakes are welcomed, and may allow for special heroes or characters to emerge. As it stands, your tribe is a generic hunter-gatherer group with a shaman and decisions are made by consensus. Government, art, and things of such a nature may be developed along with more physical things. You have yet to invent the bow and arrow and rely on spears. You will automatically gather enough food to live.

Hmm, alright. So, something like this?

[X] Explore the area around the lake.

Well, we gotta know what's around us to plan ahead.

[X] Make Lake Bigger

bigger lake means more fish to hunt and eat! also the dirt can make basic foundation of a wall around village, sur its not going to stop a determined attacker, but good wall and ditch can solve allot of problems, along with sharp sticks!

[X] Test out communion with the spirits by placing stuff on makeshift altars and seeing what they like

"Child, get on the altar"
"But why?"
"Wanna know if I can trade you guys for more fishes in the water"
