This plan strikes me as not very interesting and kind of a waste of an update. I'd hope we can come up with something that either would be more fun to read or makes progress on our goals. @Velorien any comment on how much you would enjoy writing this plan?

Inviting Manjiro also seems like possibly a faux pax, I'd want to check with Mari about that.

This only works if regular granite doesn't conduct chakra to an appreciable degree. But it seems to me that you could create directional pathways from a single infusion point. Let me explain.

Construct a three dimensional object composed of granite wrapped around and over smoothed, densified, purified, stone (SDPS). The SDPS forms channels in the stone that chakra can conduct through.

Since the chakra expands regularly in all directions the "seal" has a single point that the infusion must be begun from, but then since the chakra conducts out regularly from that point, the granite insulator confines the infusing chakra to the SDPS, so it can run uninterrupted through the channels. Which have a direction, they run from the infusing point out to the end of the SDPS

Does that make sense? What does Hazou think of the idea?

@Paperclipped @Velorien @eaglejarl just checking that this is on the QINOA somewhere.

Also, I wanted to ask, in the past, enemy FP have been generated by rolling a d8 and using that result, is that the current practice? Is that something the players are allowed to know?

It's helpful to estimate the probability of Hazou and Co. having FP superiority going into a fight.

I'll keep my vote for your plan but I would be interested in seeing a plan that DOES make a political statement. Invite ALL the clan heads our age (and their former teammates like Choji or Sakura who aren't clan heads themselves) and friendly wager on who makes jonin next or something.

        • This is informal: you're going around to clan compounds/sending messengers asking if people want to celebrate with you, not organizing an event.
    • Carouse on the order of magnitude of getting your Bachelor's: don't go crazy, but take an evening to eat, drink, dance, play games, that sort of stuff.
    • Tone: we're excited we did something cool and we want to share that.
    • Don't gloat: don't want to ruffle any feathers.
    • Goal: genuinely celebrate, but try to build and solidify relationships, too.
  • Have a separate celebration with Harumitsu and Kagome later.
    • If Mari approves, invite Manjiro, too.
  • Seal research:
    • The next Minato seals. Let HazoPilot determine the appropriate degree of caution.

Some comments/questions:
  • It might be better to have a generalized sanity-check instead of asking Mari for approval on two separate things. Just my IMO.
  • Is there a particular reason why we're inviting Ruri but not Aika?
  • I'm not certain why we are having two separate celebrations instead of just one.

I agree this could be cool but I'm not sure that inviting a bunch of people we're not that close with and then throwing the gauntlet is going to be useful. Can you outline why you think that's a good idea?

  • I don't see Harumitsu, Kagome, and/or Manjiro having a good time barhopping with us, and I don't see our peers having a good time soberly discussing sealing theory.

I've specifically left it up to Pilot, but I figure the tame/average case is going to be showing up at a restaurant and being reasonably loud. Alcohol will probably be consumed in some volume.

Can you talk me through some activities that you think Kagome and Harumitsu would enjoy as much as (the list of people I've written out) which they could all do together, which you'd also feel comfortable inviting Manjiro to?

Two separate celebrations makes sense.

I honestly had imagined the whole thing to be like a game night the way our clan's been doing it, with several areas for board games + a more private area for our group to hang and discuss Sealing theory. Maybe invite some of Leaf's other sealmasters like Fumi.

I bet Shino would start trying to invent microscopes for/with us based on nothing but our say-so.

Advancing medical science, moving the EN towards learning Germ Theory, and wining mad points with Tsunadae(and Orochimaru?), all for the low "cost" of helping our friend identify a fruitful direction for R&D.

And this could be done as a single offscreenable message to Shino.

Orochimaru: Calm down, Princess. Mine will care about borders, and if I spend a couple months on it I am even reasonably sure I can make them avoid anyone born within Fire. In a year we will have eradicated all enemies and chakra beasts beyond Fire, then I can simply shut them down, or turn them to chakra beasts only indefinitely.
Tsunade: Hmm. Okay yeah let's do your thing.

I do consider giving Orochimaru more research avenues a negative, but between the 3D-sealing and Dragon specimens(oops), but I don't think "insufficeiant research avenues" is going to be much of a bottleneck on the relevant timescales.

Hazou needs more friends his age but more importantly he needs worthy rivals to push himself 😎 I definitely think there is a right and wrong way to do something like this (and what I suggested was more of an example than specifically what I want to see.) A cheeky but playful "let's see what you got" is the goal rather than a snooty Neji superiority complex type thing.

But really what it boils down to for me is making things more interesting and potentially gives interesting avenues to interact with these characters in the future compared to doing a straightforward celebration and everyone going home

I feel like Youngest Sealing Jounin is a much better aspect than Out touched Genius in like, every way. It will be usable in almost all social situations (because that's how the elemental nations be), invokable for Sealing, and usable in combat sometimes. As opposed to Sealing, and freaking people out in social situations.

Also... I don't really like how being Out touched makes Hazou? Like, the benefits are great and all, but I don't want to lean into him seeing people not as people but as objects to be moved to achieve goals.
