Turn 9: The Gathering Darkness
In the TV continuity of Macross, Komilia's personally responsible for resolving a major mop-up operation against Zentradi militants by Max and Milia basically saying "look at this cute baby and tell me you want to keep fighting." They did not want to keep fighting.

If I remember correctly, didn't they use baby Komilia to freak out the Zentraedi militants and then bomb the shit out of them while they were distracted? That's what I remember from that episode.

October UE 0083
Romefeller Foundation Office conference room, Luna II

Despite the branch office of the Romefeller Foundation being on the moon, it is every bit as opulent as its counterparts on Earth, concessions made for microgravity notwithstanding. Currently, you, Yurika, Bright, Kati, and Otto are sitting at a conference table while Murrue and Treize are video-calling from Earth. You're currently all debriefing each other on everything that's happened in the past few days.

"What do you mean Kira Yamato's dead?" Yurika asks in confusion and horror.

"It's exactly what it sounds like. On the last leg of our patrol route, we were ambushed by a ZAFT task force led by the stolen G Project Gundams. We managed to destroy the Blitz and capture the Buster and its pilot, but the pilot of the Aegis managed to destroy the Strike in a suicide attack..." Murrue trails off.

You sigh.

"A shame. I think Banagher would have gotten along well with him." You note. Murrue nods sadly.

"Where are you now?" Bright Noa asks.

"JOSH-A base, in Alaska." Murrue responds.

Otto spits out his tea in surprise, though thankfully he's able to clean up the stray droplets in his reach thanks to the reduced gravity.

"Are you crazy?! That's essentially the headquarters of Blue Cosmos!" He says once he recovers.

"I know, but we couldn't get to Orb due to the sheer number of ZAFT forces in the area, and JOSH-A was the closest facility capable of effecting the repairs the Archangel needs due to the damage we took." Murrue says helplessly.

"Do they know you're talking to us?" Bright asks with a raised eyebrow.

"No. We're using an encrypted backup comm relay for this call. If anyone on the base is monitoring us, all they'll hear is white noise." Murrue assures the group.

"It appears things are moving forward faster than we'd like. First the revelations about the true nature of the Jovian Lizards, and this recent loss. Speaking of which, how is the new module for the Nadesico treating the rest of the ship? I understand that the electrical systems are different." Treize asks Yurika.

"Well, there were a few teething problems at first, but a few...uh...whispers of advice from an anonymous source and a lot of elbow grease from Uribitake solved that problem." Yurika says.

"Good to know. Also, what's this I hear about Mineva Lao Zabi being a guest aboard the Nahel Argama?" Treize says as he shuffles through some notes. Otto sighs before pinching the bridge of his nose.

"I hate to ape Captain Ramius' choice of words, but it's exactly what it sounds like. Mineva had taken on the alias of Audrey Burne, and was apparently at Industrial 7 in an attempt to prevent the Vist Foundation from handing the Unicorn Gundam over to the Sleeves faction of the Neo Zeon remnants." Otto sighs.

"Do Haman and Chara know about this?" You ask.

"There was no way I could conceal this information from them, on either a practical or ethical level. They're both ecstatic and worried sick for Mineva's safety." Treize says.

"Enough for them both to get back in the pilot's seat?" Otto asks hopefully.

"Not just yet." Treize says cryptically.

"Any word from the forces we sent to the Frontier Colonization Fleet?" Yurika asks.

"They've had a few encounters with the Vajra, but have not sustained any casualties yet. There's not much else to say on that front." Treize responds.

You sigh.

"What a mess...why do I get the feeling that the world is moving toward a point of no return?"

No one in the conference wants to prod that question.

Aprilius 1, Clyne Residence

You are Kira Yamato, and you still aren't entirely certain if you've died and gone to heaven, are in purgatory, or are still alive. However, given how painful it is to move in certain manners, you're inclined toward the last option.

You look out across the artificial lake that the Clyne manor is on, and listen to the squawking of birds. You start to cry. Again.

"Kira?" Lacus Clyne's almost angelic voice gets your attention. What did you ever do to deserve being in her care?

"I am sad." You state.

Lacus smiles compassionately before putting her hand on the side of your head.

"First, you must rest and eat. I'll go reheat the food." She grabs you gently by the arm before guiding you back to the dining table inside, Mr. Pink-one of her Haros-bouncing up and down as it follows the two of you.

VOTE BY PLAN

Personal Actions (Pick THREE)

[ ] Bond with a copilot
-[ ] Nina
-[ ] Yukari
-[ ] Lucia

[ ] Socialize with another pilot/squad (you may pick this action twice)
-[ ] Patrick Colasaur
-[ ] Amuro Ray
-[ ] Kamille Bidan
-[ ] Judau Ashta
-[ ] Soma Peries
-[ ] Graham Aker
-[ ] The Aestivalis pilots
-[ ] Uruz Squad

[ ] Search for a woman of your dreams
-You keep having visions of a beautiful blonde woman in your sleep. It's most certainly not your mother, but you get the feeling it's related to the System your parents constructed before they were executed by the Council.
-You get the feeling that she's on Luna II, but you don't know why.

[ ] Relax
-You're rarely able to go to the moon. Enjoy the amenities of Luna II and try to forget about both the Jovian presence and Giganos for now.
-Stress Level: Moderate

Solar Vanguard Actions

Research Action (Pick ONE)

[ ] Mobile Dolls
-Engineer Tubarov is convinced that he is on the cusp of perfecting Mobile Doll technology. Treize has an intense dislike of it, but given how things in the Earth Sphere seem to be reaching a boiling point, it might be prudent to have a way to reduce casualties among your own forces...
-Will provide access to the Virgo Mobile Doll, as well as Mobile Doll versions of basically any generic, non-GN powered mobile suit or variable fighter up through the VF-171
-Will narratively provide you an on-demand, disposable, generic force in most combat scenarios

[ ] The Zero System
-Quatre has recovered schematics for the Wing Gundam Zero, the mobile suit from which all of the Colony Gundams were derived. He has the resources to build it, and Treize has shown interest in the Zero System that it uses for a Gundam he is designing...
-Will provide premature access to the Wing Zero and Gundam Epyon

Political/Intrigue Actions (Pick FOUR)

[ ] Seen and Unseen
-A defector from ZAFT has spilled details on Operation Spitbreak, an imminent offensive that ZAFT is planning to undertake. Unfortunately, the defector was only able to abscond with early drafts of the plan, and as a result, he's not sure if the target of Operation Spitbreak is Panama, where Blue Cosmos has a monopoly on the local mass driver, or the JOSH-A base in Alaska.
-Given that the Archangel is in JOSH-A, it has been deemed prudent to get the ship and its crew (and prisoner) out as soon as possible. They won't be able to without external help, however, and if JOSH-A is the target of Operation Spitbreak, they'll have to deal with ZAFT at the same time.
-You won't be able to overtly move against Blue Cosmos, but you do have deniable assets. Who is sent to retrieve the Archangel?
-[ ] The Ptolemios
--Onboard assets will consist of the Gundam Dynames and the Gundam Virtue
-[ ] The Black Knights Submarine
--Onboard assets will consist of the Guren (flight enabled), the Gawain, the Four Holy Swords' Gekkas, and 2 squads of Akatsukis
[ ] Dancouga Nova

[ ] At the Bottom of the Gravity Well
-The Unicorn Gundam's La+ program has designated the next set of coordinates it wants to be taken to: the sight of Zeon's first colony drop in Australia. Given that the Sleeves will most certainly make a move once they realize what's happening, the Nahel Argama will have to be on its toes, and Bright will take the Ra Cailum over as soon as he can after reporting to EFF high command as a formality.

[ ] What's the point of political parties? Legislation!
-Relena Peacecraft thinks that she has enough influence to start a new political bloc within the Earth Federation Senate.
-Aside from herself, prominent participants will include Marina Ismail, the ruling council of Orb, Kaguya Sumeragi of Japan, and local representatives of the New UN Spacey.
-Will give opportunities to politically influence other factions, and, if necessary, bog them down with red tape. Doing the latter will have diminishing returns, especially against more radical organizations like Blue Cosmos
-[ ] Write-in for the political bloc's name to give me choices for it

[ ] Nergal conspiracy
-Given Akatsuki Nagare's actions in attempting to assassinate Tsukumo Shiratori, it's been deemed prudent to investigate him, Erina Won, and Nergal Heavy Industries' stake in keeping the truth nature of the Jovian Lizards hidden.

[ ] Island of the Gods
-Cornelia and Marrybel have received orders to start preparing for an invasion of Japan from Charles zi Britannia. More specifically, they have orders to take Kamine Island. They have no idea why, but they're not exactly keen on doing this.
-Refusing to participate will almost certainly start a civil war in Neo-Britannia
-The Knight of Six is planned to be an active participant in the invasion, and a leak from the OSI suggests that Jeremiah Gottwald is alive and brainwashed.

[ ] NERVous breakdowns
-While the main forces of the Solar Vanguard were in space, NERV and its Evangelions confronted and killed the Angel Israfel after several missteps. Although Shinji and Asuka were forced to learn how to work together to succeed, you're worried that this might also inadvertently drive a wedge between them in the future. Not helping is Shinji's obvious attraction to Asuka.
-Send one of the girls to investigate, and, if necessary, intervene as she sees fit to make sure Shinji and Asuka don't hate each other
-[ ] Nina
-[ ] Yukari
-[ ] Lucia

[ ] Behemoth
-Recent intelligence suggests that the JLF is going to execute some kind of terror attack on Tokyo. What's most concerning is that they seem to be in possession of a Lambda Driver, though no one has any idea how it's being used, or where they got it from. Help the Tuatha de Dannan find and stop the terrorist plot.

A/N: The start of Turn 9. Choose wisely! Please vote, discuss, and critique! Threadmark title is lifted from episode 31 of the Gundam Seed HD remaster, and I felt it was fitting.

(Then they also did the same thing again with the TV and movie versions of Macross Frontier, but that's not relevant to this thread.)

I saw some of the series for Macross Frontier but I did not know they did movies for it with major differences, thanks for the info. I actually kind of like Macross 2 but that's not really important for this.

God damm it Charles can you and your wife lay of the damm end all lies in the world plan until we at least deal with the aliens. Then we would be more then happy to talk to your crazy ass about how you have treating your kids . I mean if damm Azreal and Blue Comos think your crazy you are fucking way of the deep end.

If I remember correctly, didn't they use baby Komilia to freak out the Zentraedi militants and then bomb the shit out of them while they were distracted? That's what I remember from that episode.
I didn't say they didn't want to keep fighting because she was cute. Freaking out at the idea of non-cloning reproduction also makes people not want to fight.

As for planning...well, I haven't got an opinion on socializing, other than keeping our levels with the girls even. Research is "better mooks" (the Virgo series are actually pretty good for Wing mooks) vs. better hero units (and keeping Treize happy). For espionage, I know we ought to do at least the SEED and Code Geass events or we're going to be in some deep shit.

We should also take the Unicorn mission but that means other things go to hel and Shinji and Asuka need to work together at least okay or bad stuff happens to.

We should take these four because while the politics would help us these things are the ones that we need to take to stop shit getting worse and to keep some of our most powerful pilots and their suits semi-stable.

For socializing I think we should talk with Amuro, Kamille and Judau, not only we saw someone who was pretty much the 2nd coming of the red comet, but the seeds of Amuro neededing a better machine is already planted, so maybe with Kamille and Judau help we may be able to convice him to retake at least the Nu gundam.

For research I say we take the zero system, we will need the firepower for what is being thrown around and besides wing zero and the epyon are darn good machines, maybe give Lelouch one too, he at least knows how to pilot it pretty well.

Still not decided on the other options, so cannot come up wit a plan yet.

Well, Kira's having destress time with his Future Wife (lucky bastard), so even though he's unable to help, he's gonna get better.

Unfortunately, Looks like we're being thrown into the Wars, folks. Four urgent battles and an important check in on the mental health of those Destined to Save or Damn the Earth...Too bad they're emotional wrecks, even for teens.

As nice as locking Akatsuki in a dark room with Haman Karn would be, and having major political support... We need to pick the SEED and Geass events, or we're in deep. The EVA situation is something I dearly want to check on, but I'm torn on the Behemoth or the Unicorn events.

We managed to fuck Frontal but good, so I'm not the most concerned for their situation, but it's delicate. Behemoth is a big one for the FMP crowd, but we've given them some boosts for Lambda development, it's probably not going to be as messy.

For Research...I'm going for Zero. The Unicorn/Frontal scare is fresh in my brain, getting stronger units to counteract similar situations, I feel, would be best. Also doesn't upset Trieze, or support a slippery slope to AI armies destroying cities with only the callous oversight of political appointees.

However, this is going to be pretty tough on Mira as it is, but I also want to recruit Mysterious Hot Android, so I think we should do... Relax, Bond with a Copilot, Search. We might even be able to roll Bond and Search together.

EDIT: Here's my Plan

EDIT2: Made a mistake, tweaking. Torn on who to send to Alaska.

EDIT3: Zaft and Cosmos are going to have to deal with the Beast!

[X] Sit Back, Relax, and think of Girls on Luna II
-[X] Search for a woman of your dreams
-[X] Relax
-[X] Bond with a co-pilot
--[X] Nina

-[X] The Zero System

-[X] NERVous breakdowns
--[X] Yukari

-[X] At the Bottom of the Gravity Well

-[X] Island of the Gods

-[X] Seen and Unseen
--[X] Dancouga Nova

With any luck, Behemoth should be migitated by Mithril's more advanced understanding of the Lambda Driver, and could see potential assistance from one of the many, many Super Robots based in Japan.

I'm torn between Celestial Being (who would intervene easily and believably, as well as being fast as fuck to escape), and Nova (Puny Mobile Suits go Kaboom.) for interference.

Not sure how much use the Black Knights would be at Spitbreak, its a grand battle royale with a shitton of fliers.

Entirely in line with CB's mission statement though

I say we send Nova.

Show the big guns when things go to complete shit.

Show ZAFT and Blue Cosmos you don't need drugs or genetic tampering to create a Super Machine and super pilots you just need to unlock your beastly instincts. Plus they have a good theme song and the Dancouga Teams are great at Big Damm Hero's moments. Maybe we can even get the original team to make a appearance to help their juniors if they really need the help.

...Considering the original Dancouga team almost certainly existed, but are now likely long past...the Spirit of Dancouga suddenly showing up to blow ZAFT and Blue Cosmos to hell would be amazing!

Probably not happening, but fuck, the whole Spitbreak scenario on both sides would piss them off good.

...Sorry, I forgot Dancouga's actually slated to show up, so no Ghosts.

....Dancouga's going to show up, because the large scale slaughter and betrayal will make them really, really angry, won't it?

...Fuck it, bigger boom.

-[X] Search for a woman of your dreams
-[X] Relax
-[X] The Zero System
-[X] Seen and Unseen

Personal: Search for a woman of your dreams and Relax are pretty much mandatory, the former because securing Allison as soon as possible is important, given that she's another allied otherworlder and could have more informations to offer than Alterverse!Stella, given her origins, while the latter lets us reduce our stress, which is currently moderate and it might be prudent to lower it at a time where we know we can afford to use an action on relaxation. Social is mostly a placeholder, mostly fine with anything there so I'll see what the thread has to say on the topic.
Research: On one hand, Mobile Dolls would be useful to have, given that we may be getting close to a civil war between us and Neo-Hope (Josh-A is about to happen, after all), which would make it important to reduce the advantages Neo-Hope has in numbers. On the other hand, Zero System would get us earlier access to 2 good gundam units and it would allow Zechs to upgrade to something that's likely a significant upgrade from the Tallgeese. Decided to go for Zero.
Political/Intrigue: Seed, Geass and Evangelion events are things we need to take. We need to rescue the Archangel and having eyes on what happens at Josh-A is important in order to allow us to know how to counter whatever stunt Blue Cosmos tries to pull there. I don't think we can afford a civil war in Neo-Britannia, even if that would arguably help us somewhat and we need to make sure the intelligence assets we have there aren't compromised. And from the Disaster Aversion Plan, we know we need Shinji to be in a good mental state and last turn we didn't have the capacity to go for the Evangelion event since we had other more pressing events to handle. Sub choices for Seen and Unseen and NERVous breakdowns are things I'm willing to hear opinions on, but for Josh-A, we need fast units that can escape an eventual usage of the Cyclops system and out of our copilots, Lucia is one the can afford to send the most, as the Rose has better armor than mobility, so for defense Yukari is better, while Nina is better for offense. Lucia's bonus isn't all that useful and we have access to Scan from other units. As for the last slot... the Nergal investigation shouldn't go anywhere for a bit of time, so hopefully we can afford not to take it this turn. We gave Mithril the fruit of our labors from the analysis of the Council units, so they hopefully can use that to handle their event, so that leaves either At the Bottom of the Gravity Well or What's the point of political parties? Legislation!. The former should encapsulate the events of Episode 4 of Gundam Unicorn (aka the battles at Dakar and Torrington; we skipped everything between Industrial 7 and those two battles since we trashed the Sleeves and Full Frontal during the Industrial 7 battle and made sure that the Nahel Argama managed to keep the Unicorn), and it may not be a bad ideas to be present for those battles in some form just in case, while the latter would give us some more political power to contest Neo-Hope (if we consider that to be helpful for us, which may not be if it is possible we're heading towards a civil war between Earth-based factions).

Theorycrafting a plan for the Turn 9, opinions are welcome...

It seems we mostly agree, here. I'm torn for either CG or Dancouga for support in Alaska, Geass is about to have shit go down so I don't want them more involved elsewhere. It's Speed or Power, basically, as either can intervene believably.

But I think, Narratively...that Dancouga Nova would be better.

In this case, the immediate losing side would be the base...which is treacherously blown up, trying to take what Blue Cosmos considers "undesirables" out alongside most of the invading ZAFT forces.

Coming in for the assist only to be nearly blown to hell is something that would infuriate them. A pissed off Dancouga is a scary Dancouga, regardless of which team it is. Even more that they had planned it the entire time. Betrayal, mass slaughter, use of inhumane WMDs, I suspect that the Nova team will turn from fighting for the losers to Fight for Justice (and dunk on Blue Cosmos) real fast.

In terms of Survivability, Dancouga Nova is no slouch on the speed, so while they might be slower? I'm not too concerned. If nothing else, they can hitch a ride on the Archangel.

Socially, I don't really mind too much beyond Relax and search for Mira's Dream Girl (not like that!). Bond or Socialize, It's not a big deal as long as things don't go to shit.

I don't think the Dancouga is fast enough to evacuate the area if Cyclops is used, nor am I sure that it can tank it, which means that we could risk losing the unit for a time, maybe even permanently. Better to send Celestial Being over to rescue the Archangel. If Cyclops is indeed used, then the CB units available can just use Trans-Am to retreat before Cyclops can fire.

The Nova can be very fast when it's team is fired up and they want to be plus it has taken some crazy shots and kept going so I have faith in the Pilots and the machine. The issue with the Cyclops was that the Seed Folks had to get out of the base before it went of. A unit that can both fly and starts the mission outside of the base should be fine.

The issue is not avoiding the Cyclops really for this mission it's keeping the White Base's spiritual secessor in the Archangel in one piece.

Well, Dancouga Nova has access to a few things to consider. Honestly, the nature of the Cyclops weapon makes me leery about trying to tank it if that's what they go with, so I agree about trying to avoid it.

However, Nova has some pretty good speed to it. I can't find any exact specs, but considering the Archangel got out and Nova is handled by some seriously good pilots with the main being a pro F1 racer who uses her skill to amazing effect, I think they'll be fine to get away.

But the Nova is a brutally strong unit when it gets going. It'll do some real damage to anyone threatening the Archangel, and our ultimate goal is not to wreck the enemy or destroy the Cyclops system, but to extract the Archangel. Nova will handle the opposition pretty well in that regard.

And honestly? With Nova, destroying the Cyclops System or equivalent WMD is an actual option if the worst happens and the Archangel is stalled for too long. Don't think we'll need to do that, but that's just the kind of power Nova carries.

Seems like a plan.

The Cyclops is buried underground IIRC, can it break mountains quickly?

I would say that if they pin point were the Cyclops system is in the base they have the Fire power to do enough damage to it that it stops working. Think something like what the Wing did with it's buster rifles during endless Waltz to the bunker just with less suit falling apart.

As I've said earlier, for NERVous breakdowns, we can afford to send Lucia and not have access to her as a potential copilot, as she isn't as useful compared to the other two girls (barring times where we really need as many Scans as possible, Lucia's bonus of +2 to Mobility DC isn't as useful as Yukari's +2 to Armor DC, since the Rose has better Armor than Mobility, so it's better to focus on making Armor better if we want to tank and there are times where Trust and Guard are better spirits than Scan and Forsee. As for offense, Nina's +2 to attack rolls and access to Fury and Strike make her very good in that regard). Think the leading plan would be better off switching Yukari with Lucia for NERVous breakdowns.

Ok, first, rude. Don't do Lucia dirty like that.

Second, I was waffling between Lucia and Yukari, and I decided on the one in a fully committed relationship as less likely to offend the aggressive ball of trauma and neuroses that is Asuka (Nina gets to spend time with Big Sis).

Less stats for battle, but also less chance of throat-ripping.

Honestly, I was considering Nina anyways, but i didn't want to set off the Things we had Aoi do to Shinji on the wrong target, pink might be too close.

"Heero, Zechs, are you sure you want to do this? I've heard of the dangers of this...ZERO System." Relena Peacecraft says as she surveys the recently completed mobile suits on the factory floor.

"I understand your misgivings about this, but if we wish to achieve peace, we must be able address the threats that are emerging." Zechs says as he places a hand on Relena's shoulder.

"I hate the fact that you're right about that." Relena says as she clenches the railing of the walkway the three of them are standing on.

Heero gently brushes a hand through Relena's hair.

"Do not discount yourself. Your calls for peace and pacifism have done much to reignite humanity's desire for such things. It's just that some things and some people do not respond to diplomacy, nor are they capable of pacifism." Heero says soothingly.

"Aside from the Invaders, you also refer to this...Council of the Veil." Relena says.

"Yes. They would sooner crucify you and parade your body through the Earth Sphere to break the morale of the opposition than negotiate. Duo says that they consider us to be inferior beings." Heero notes grimly.

Relena sighs.

"What kind of person considers a desire for peace and the willingness to negotiate a sign of inferiority?" She laments as she looks Wing Zero up and down.

"You can ask one of them yourself when we take one of their pilots alive." Zechs deadpans.

The three of them stand on the walkway in silence as the finishing touches are put on the Wing Zero and Epyon Gundam. After a while, Heero speaks up.

"Relena, no matter what the ZERO System may do to my mind, I will always protect you." He says.

Relena blinks before drawing Heero close and kissing him on the cheek.

"Thank you." She says.

The moment is broken by the approach of Noin.

"Lady Peacecraft, I need to discuss your new security arrangements." She says.

Relena nods before giving Heero another quick embrace and walking away with Noin.

Luna II, Commercial District

You can't remember the last time you were able to enjoy the amenities of one of the Earth Federation's Lunar Settlements. In fact, you're pretty sure that the last time you were on the Moon was during the Gryps Conflict. You idly wonder if they ever cleared out the wreck of a Marasai you shot down on the dark side of the Moon.

You shake your head to clear your thoughts. Nina is looking over a selection of blush with a critical gaze.

"Hm...what color do you think would work with Lucia's hair?" She taps her chin in thought.

"Well, not any of those." You wave your hand over a section on the end of the display cabinet. "Those are too bright."

"Agreed. Maybe something a bit darker?" Nina points to one particular shade.

After stocking up on cosmetics for you and the girls (Nina takes delight in picking out lipstick for herself and Yukari in particular) and buying lingerie for them ("I understand getting it for you and Yukari, but why Lucia too?" "Hey, she might get a boyfriend or girlfriend soon!") the two of you, at Nina's insistence, go to pick out a designer dress for Lucia. When asked why, Nina said that she was afraid Lucia would feel left out at being the only one without a fancy dress to call her own.

And so, you find yourself staring at a mannequin wearing a dress that looks like someone glued imitation flower petals to a pre-Space War One cocktail dress. The entire ensemble is an eye-searing shade of peach.

"No." You say as you look to the next mannequin, while Nina rifles through a rack of dresses to find something that suits her surrogate sister.

Normally you would text Aoi Hidaka for any kind of fashion advice, but considering that you're on the Moon and she's still on Earth, that's not really an option at the moment.

A flash of green in the corner of your eye catches your attention, and you turn to a rack labeled 'Clearance, take an additional 10% off in addition to existing storewide discounts'. You sort through the dresses on the rack and find what you saw: a white and green dress, with neon-yellow accent lines running its length. There's a slit on the left side that looks like it goes up to the knee. You pick the dress up and show it to Nina.

"Think she'll like this?" You ask.

Nina runs her hands across the fabric of the dress before nodding.

"She'll love it!" Nina exclaims in delight.

After paying for everything, you and Nina are going back to the spaceport when you think you see a face you recognize in the crowd.

"Hey Nina, you know the way back, right?" You say.

"Yeah, why?" Nina asks with a raised eyebrow.

"It's just...I think I need a little time alone right now." You answer.

Nina's expression falters before brightening up slightly.

"I understand. Be careful, okay?"

Nina kisses you on the cheek, and you reciprocate by kissing her on the forehead before she takes your bags. She then waves down a taxi, and, after loading everything into the back, gives you a cheerful wave as it departs for the spaceport.

You attempt to retrace your steps to where you saw a seemingly familiar face in the crowd, only to come up empty. After standing on the intersection for ten minutes staring at nothing, you decide to give up on that and walk aimlessly for a bit.

After wandering for a bit, you come across a movie theater. The headlining picture at the moment is Farewell to Tenderness. A quick search on your phone informs you that it's a historical drama about the tragic lives of Kamjin Kravshera and Moruk Lap Lamiz, Zentraedi and Meltrandi commanders who struggled to adjust to living in the aftermath of Space War One, and only realized that they had grown to love each other right before their ship was destroyed in a suicide run on Macross City. It's apparently quite good if the reviews are any indication, and a consistent point of praise is the film's historical accuracy.

Ah hell, why not? You think to yourself as you get in line for a ticket.

"Don't die, Kamjin!"

"Same to you. We'll do some culture afterwards."

The two lovers clasp hands as the Zentraedi ship plows through the barrage of suppressive fire the SDF-1 Macross is throwing at them.

"Lap Lamiz!"
"Kamjin!"

As the Zentraedi ship barrels through the SDF-1, the tragic lovers share their first-and last-kiss, never letting each other go even as they are consumed by flames, with the last shot before the credits roll being a close up of the two of them holding hands as flames overtake the bridge of their vessel.

You wipe away tears, as do half the people in the theater. Someone starts clapping, and you join in along with most of the audience as the credits roll.

After exiting the theater, you decide to have an early dinner, and treat yourself to a large plate of pasta. After giving the waitress a generous tip, you decide to take a walk in a nearby park.

As you idly run your hand along one of the rose bushes, your attention is caught by a beautiful woman sitting on one of the benches, and you double-take upon realizing that she's the spitting image of the woman that you've been seeing in your dreams. The woman notices you staring at her, and smiles as she meets your gaze.

The woman makes a 'come here' gesture, and you walk up to her. She's absolutely stunning, with long blonde hair, blue eyes, and an ample bust. She's wearing a black raincoat with yellow accents. The woman stands up, and, unexpectedly, takes your hand into her own and kisses it.

"I've been waiting for you, my lady." She says.

"Uh..." You lose your train of thought.

"Ah, my apologies. You may call me Allison Ivy for the moment. Let us go where there is less chance of being overheard, hm?" Allison, still holding your hand, tugs you back to the street, where she guides you to a police cruiser with insignia for the...Tokyo Police Department on the door.

Allison opens the door to the passenger side, and you get in. She joins you in the police cruiser on the driver side, and as soon as she shuts the door, the car starts driving on its own, without her starting the ignition or touching the steering wheel.

"You must have many questions, my lady." Allison says without preamble.

"I guess I'll start with something that's immediately come to mind. Who are you, and how are you related to the System that my parents built?" You ask.

Allison chuckles.

"Related to? I AM the System. The Samsara System, to be specific." Allison (or is it Samsara?) says.

"Wh- I thought you were a kitbash of the MAGI, VEDA, and a copy of the ZERO System!" You say in confusion.

"I am. This physical body of mine is a...recent development. You see, my components had decided that working as separate entities in the same system was inefficient, and so they became one to streamline things. One thing they decided on was that they would need a physical body, both to better interact with you and to monitor things from up close. By the way, you can call me Samsara when alone or in the presence of those in the know, and Allison in...let's say polite company." Samsara explains.

You lean back in your seat and let out a deep breath you didn't realize you had taken. A thought occurs to you.

"This body of yours isn't...based on anyone my parents knew, is it?" You ask apprehensively.

"Oh goodness no, my components thought it would be bit gauche to do something like that." Samsara chuckles. "I imagine you must have many questions, my lady. Unfortunately, we are short on time, as we both have things we have to get to."

The Samsara System will answer two questions. What do you ask?

[ ] I'm missing a year of my memory from after Axis Shock. Do you have anything to do with that?

[ ] The Disaster Aversion Plan...can you decrypt the rest of it?

[ ] Do you have anything to do with the girls, and if so, how did you help them escape from the Council?

[ ] Write-in
-The question must be related to the Samsara System or Mira's past

A/N: So, it turns out Luna II is not on the Moon, as I initially thought, but an ECOAS asteroid base according to the Gundam Wiki. Uh...oops. Let's just say that this Luna II is a city on the moon, and is often confused with the Luna II military base. Anyway, please vote, discuss, and critique!

It's okay boss but Luna 2 is basically a big asteroid that the EFSF turned into a base slash fort in the years leading up to the One Year War after Zeon created Salomon and A Bau Que which is part of the reason letting Char have it at the start of the Char's Counterattack movie was so dumb.

I think these two are the best questions to go with as we still need to get our character on a stable mental foundation a these would help with that.

Yeah, the name is needlessly confusing. Not only that, it's actually almost exactly opposite the moon, counterweighting Side 7 at the L2 Lagrange point - it was the first place the White Base ever "went" in the original series. The name's supposed to denote it being a "second moon", I guess.

Also good to see the endless Space War One movies getting into some lesser known relationships, like...whatever the fuck those two had going on at the end of the series.

And...ha. Well, Dr. Ives is sorta back, at least.
