On the Dead Seas

Nope. Too many people in the room for my comfort.

It looks like the only choices are tell people now or tell nobody for at least several years. The latter sounds worse and worse the more I think about it.

this isn't just from a five year old though

but the voice from the void that helped us from burning up. This is made more apparent when you read back and realize the amulet thing that supposedly stops Wordsmithing caused the void voice to disappear, but made the whispers come back albeit quieter.

The voice also told us we're a predator and everyone else is sheep. That's super not someone I think we should trust when talking about, y'know, people or morality.

He calls us wild blood not predator, but ok even if that is close enough, the intent of that was to hide from "Hunters" of some sort,
"Ah, young wild-blood so lost and fragile,
Take heed. Run, hide and grow.
Take shelter with the sheep and wear their skin.

Hunters stalk the Wild, not the pen."
and that the best way to do it is by sheltering with the sheep, which changes that line because sheep are "in the pen" rather than the Wild where the Hunters stalk.

Especially since what it wants us to hide is heresy of some sort.
"Hold fast to your words.
Each a testament of sin.
Close thy gates,

conceal the heresy within."

There is also mention of others like us existing, which might be located easier with revealing the detail, but again we're told to not attract the Hunters' attention in the pen.

Obviously the void voice could still be not good, but I just don't think the help would be worth the loss of potential time we'd gain from at least partial anonimity.

Honestly, our MC growing up setup looks like a recipe for future psychological issues. I get why it was done, but still.

Eh, we're an MC with 2 alive parents who are well off, well connected, well liked, fairly powerful in their own rights, and love us genuinely. Can't ask for more than that really, when War (or whatever military action it is ordered by the ruling king) is a thing beyond their control.

If you're talking about the damage we're suffering, that seems to 'merely' be the cost of having the highest talent for wordsmithing.

[x] No, he trusted his gut and the warnings given. He passed out, nothing more.

I think hastiness is certainly the wrong urge to follow. We can always reveal it later once we've had a chance to further research the matter. But once the secrets out, it's out.

Awesome update QM! Looking forward to companion time!

[X] But Felix pushed through the pain and told them of everything he had experienced.

That voice is sus af

I feel like this will be more interesting

Fuckin... Tzeentch!

But wait, you ask, who is Tzeentch in this scenario?

ALL OF THEM! INCLUDING US!

Our Aunt is already a little restriction heavy, telling her more could end up with more restrictions.

Ferron was excited and eager to investigate the limits of what Felix could do, while Tabitha was more interested as to why she hadn't heard of anything like it before.
Yeeeeah, they've already moved from classing the MC from "family" to "useful pawn".
They were quick to comfort him and Felix tried to tell if their words were true. To separate their words from the truth within. To let him know if this was all he had to look forward to. The pendant on his chest grew hot underneath his shirt, but he heard it. He heard the concern in their voices. He heard the greed and the thirst for power tinged by uneasiness and fear. He heard their doubt. He heard their lies.
I mean, listening uncritically to the voice in your head that calls people sheep also seems like a great way to get turned into a tool and weapon, and by someone potentially a lot more suspect than the Queen is here (given that she's our aunt and all).
Note the bolded sections above. This wasn't just him hearing some sparks or something like in the void. This was hearing the lies his family was spinning. The greed and anticipation. They're already turning him into a weapon in their minds, at least some of them. As of now our mother is the only person that I trust to still have our best interests in mind. Everyone else is merely contemplating how much we can do for them once properly trained.

I'm not disputing that. I'm saying that, firstly, that's gonna happen either way (those thoughts are before we tell them anything, after all), and secondly I'd rather deal with being used as a non-disposable political pawn than be beholden to something completely inhuman that may well not have our best interests or those of humanity as a whole at heart.

The queen will use us to advance her political agenda, but will likely be reluctant to sacrifice us for both personal and political reasons. The Voice might easily have a much less pleasant agenda and might well be much more willing to sacrifice us for it. It could also be completely benevolent, of course, but that's not where I'd put my money.

Edit:
Sure they are royalty, but they are family.
And Felix's mom will do everything to keep the others away with their greedy little hands.

Bold of you to assume she can stop the Queen from doing what she wants with us.

On the other hand:
So far the Queen seems reasonable.
So maybe her doing what she wants wouldn't be that big of a problem.

Well if by reasonable you mean she nearly had us killed with an amulet, has ordered us to eschew all friends, and called out by our own magical senses (not the scary voice) as emanating greed-
then yeah, I guess she is pretty reasonable.

Or we could take our safety & destiny into our own hands.
