Primarch sized autopistol, aka four autopistols strapped together by magic craftsman, + sword or autocannon battlerifle.

I'm gonna be fine with both :)
 
My argument for a sword and pistol is that it makes easier to get a Force Weapon later on for enhanced slaying ability, especially since we went for the psker build.

Ditto, punch wizard is punch wizard. Having more muscles than Magnus is a must so we can poke him with our super duper pointy stick real good.

As if I would restrict my dear questers and their master warpsmith/psycrafter/witch artisan MC from making himself an appropriate force weapon if you decide to go ranged. The era of force las-/volkite-/plasma-/grav-/melta-weapons is upon us (with restrictions).

If its time to break the seting conventions on force weapons its with this character.
