Compared to Harangue and the Exaggerator it's an actual news network as compared to a glorified tabloid or special interest rag.
Besides, isn't most of the world a smoking ruin? World news is mostly American news for now.

The big three American News Networks; Fox, CNN, and MSNBC, are world (multinational) news networks. Another example is the BBC, which I'm sure Black Hat is having a field day with. You don't need to focus purely on America to be the defacto American News Network, just be from an American perspective.
Purely American localized News Networks are stuff like WGN, which are for specific cities and states. We aren't operating on those sorts of restrictions.
While I'd prefer WWN to have competent reporters, Lightning News seems to be the more American, but national, News Network.
