[X] Thorns of the Rose: Play along for long enough to get into his heart. And into stabbing range. And go for his soul. [Hidden Talons Methodology] [Disturbed Snake Stance]

It occurs to me that Blue may be most dissapointed he missed out on all this.
Then again…
A part of me wonders if this really was a chance to swap out fae partners, and we chose to stay with a Beatstick option.

Torn between these 2

Now that they've taken Inaan I don't want to leave silk and eye free to go about there business after we leave and I think making a deal wouldn't cripple them as much as I'd like. Either steal his soul or tear down everything they've built and kill them. That way they wont be able to try to do try to take advantage of Renna again.

Going with this one for now

Silk-and-Eye made us spill things that actually hurt, and has put his move on someone we actually care about. That could be forgiven, but worst of all, he has gone so hard on the "pleasant fantasy" thing that it's wrapped all the way back around to blandness.

This place isn't fun any more. So we'll make our own fun.

(I don't think this is particularly wise or the most Rena-like choice, but i just wanna see us stab some people)

I am a sorcereress with a very particular set of skills. Skills I have acquired over a very long career. Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you. If you let my minion go now that'll be the end of it. I will not look for you, I will not pursue you, but if you don't, I will look for you, I will find you and I will kill you.

I am an absolute sucker for "guy who was in total control five minutes ago realizes that the story just shifted genres," but I can't resist the pull of Rena being forced to enter a game where she has to wager (and therefore reveal to us, the audience) pieces of her interiority and her past that her unreliable internal narration would elide or refuse to acknowledge.

He thinks he knows the story we are in. But he doesn't know that we know the story we are in.

Dreams of wine and the company of handsome men are what they'll take, but there is nothing of the piquency of real feelings for them to feed on.
Piquancy.

Shallow, superficial wants save you from getting hurt.
Aww, Rena. </3

Thorns uses Viper Style and Peacock Style, which are at Adept level.
Wager uses Smiling Siaka Style and Petal-Wreathed Diva Style, which are at Master level.
Viper uses Viper Style (shock!) and Fleeting Breeze, which are at Adept and Disciple respectively.

I am leaning toward Thorns; we're pretty committed to taking down Silk-and-Eye, and Wager doesn't seem to do that very satisfactorily. I would opt for Viper if Rena were a bit more combat-focused.

High-stakes gambling is too risky for Rena's liking, and while a vengeance story would be fun, that would require her to fight her way all the way through to Silk-and-Eye, which sounds too much like effort. No, she's going to do what she did to that little fox. Play along, pretend they have her... and then stab them right in their smug faces. Because she's got the advantage of surprise here. Rena is used to dealing with chaos lords. But these idiots aren't used to dealing with Dragonblooded or wyldworkers, and especially aren't used to dealing with Dragonblooded wyldworkers like Rena who know all their tricks.

Plus, I really want to see the moment Silk-and-Eye realises how badly he fucked up. And this is the option that gets us that.
Someone get silver, Aleph has been replaced by the Fae; the real Aleph would never give up an opportunity to stab.

Hey, we specifically picked the fox who wasn't a combat threat, so that is what we should use to take him down.

I love how completely terrifying Sei is.

I think I'm more of a fan of the setup here. This is playing pretty heavily to our strengths. The only X factor is how the confrontation between our ghostly compatriot and Redtailed Dae goes.

I know that Thorns of the Rose is probably more in theme for us. But this does play along nicely with the setup we just put an effort into with that False-Zia he sent. It might even carry the possibility that, once freed, our Cahzori friends remember us as a valiant savior they already knew as a puissant duelist and diligent sensei. It would avoid pointing out we are also a cunning trickster and potential assassin.

And? They Took Our Apprentice. RIP AND TEAR UNTIL DONE.

I'm literally voting for one of the stabbing options, I'm just voting to get the guy we actually want to stab within stabbing range before starting with the knives and the blood and the razor-edged cocktail umbrellas.

But then the emissary might escape and we don't get stab her!
