Here's what I've found on NC at this time from wiki walks:
However, in that region, poor white cotton farmers were often more fed up with the capitalism of big banks and railroad companies, who charged high freight rates and used laissez-faire economics that worked against the already impoverished South. These farmers aligned with the labor movement, with many joining the People's Party (also known as the Populists). In 1892, as the U.S. plunged into an economic depression, the Populists banded with black Republicans who shared their hardships, forming an interracial coalition with a platform of self-governance, free public education, and equal voting rights for black men, called the Fusion coalition.[22][23] Republicans and Populists agreed jointly to support municipal candidates.[24]
A new mode of production replaced the slave-based large-scale agriculture of the pre-war years. Now it would be small-scale agrarian enterprise that would proliferate and the emergence of the so-called "share system" or "cropping system," in which non-landowners paid rent for the use of the land they farmed in the form of a fixed percentage of the output generated.[14] This system in theory served the needs of landowners and poor farmers alike, as the sharecroppers would have the incentive to produce more and benefit from increased output while landowners would be provided with a labor source to produce upon the land they held without the necessity of paying cash wages.[15]
In practice, however, a system of virtual slavery emerged, in which poor whites and freed blacks became enmeshed in the usury of merchants and landowners providing essential supplies on credit. A crop-lien system emerged in which future crops would be mortgaged to merchants or landowners (often one and the same) in exchange for credit for current purchases.[16] Written contracts made these loans legally enforceable and those so enmeshed frequently found themselves forced to pay inflated prices at high rates of interest.[17] If the value of the credit exceeded the cash value of the crop, the arrangement was automatically rolled over for another year and a never-ending cycle amounting to a condition of perpetual servitude resulted.[16]
After years of growing debt and diminished returns on crops, farmers in North Carolina founded their own chapter of the Farmers' Alliance in 1887. The body lobbied for increased regulation of railroads, uniform interest rates, and additional reforms aimed at ameliorating the agricultural economy.
To summarize to the best of my knowledge, the farmers of North Carolina were the ones especially going through a period of major agrarian unrest, from a combination of bad harvests, growing (and widespread) debt, and railroad companies raking them over the coals with high freight rates. Other parts of the South also had this going on, but it seems that North Carolina was especially getting the most unrest and outrage.

North Carolina is where the Socialist People's Alliance has actually formed at the start though. Not sure if conditions are the same in South Carolina.

...I am thinking of perhaps trying to do a psudo-paper of sorts on will and war, focusing on the Rebellion against the British and the American civil war. Since well, it is kinda interesting how the first one revolved near completely with trying to break the will to fight, with the colonials spending most of their time trying to attack, then running away.
Then there was the Civil war, where once the north punched through and got to the capital, it was over. The former was largely motivated by first, George Washington being Bleepin George Washington, but also the fact that the core supporters had felt the need to stick to it to the end.
While in the Civil war, the South was doing well until it didn't. And then the key supporters mostly went underground, likely in part due to the very real likelihood of having their grand plantations burned to the ground by the Union commanders, whom may have realized that the key supporters were not fighting for the idea of freedom for themselves, but rather fighting to maintain their estates the way they wished. Or perhaps they had the right idea for the wring reasons, but at the end, the war ended as the key members in the south bided their time to then fight the public relations battle, instead of risking all of their estates.
Will and War
While most thinkers around the world, an even the USA often focus on war and the resources to fight it. The Revolutionary war I feel shows one key factor that most may not realize. For one can have all of the guns and men in the world and still lose, if they don't have the will to lose them. After all, that was the core of George Washington's success, keeping morale up among the outmatched army while relying on invested allies to keep supplied enough, until a combination of outside support, and perhaps more importantly, breaking the British morale by ending the slog, that while full of small victories, was still a slog with a loss.
George Washington had an interesting start of his career as an officer, becoming one through the endorsement of Officer Braddocks whom died before he could bring it up to his commander. Of course he fell in love rather soon with Mary Philipse, and was sent to an out of the way post soon after. When pairing the info on her, the posting and slander, alongside the refusal to let him leave his post, there is a very real possibility that he was being kept away from her due to being a colonial. While not confirmed, his retirement led more credence, and that experience may have helped shape him as a leader that was able to hold together the ragtag bunch of whoever the colonies could throw into the army.
Of course, some may point at the civil war, which was effectively won with the surrender of Lee's forces after the fall of Richmond, as a different case. But research into the events that led into the war, such as the fugitive slaves act puts into question the notion that the was was about states rights. The fugitive slaves act could in fact be argued as effectively legalizing slavery throughout the US, even though few if any slave-owners would test such due to how hostile the north was to the practice, even after the act meant that 'any actions aiding the escape of property' shall face fine or prison time. This, when taken alongside the states rights argument of succession, would seem to imply the key members, whom were likely the big plantation owners were rebelling because they feared that their 'ally' would turn on them due to the winning president being from a, anti-slavery party.
This fact puts the end of war an the events of reconstruction in a new perspective, as it is likely that the south gave in due to the key players going underground due to fearing losing their estate more than their slaves. Now that isn't to say there weren't those willing to fight on, as there was a full insurrection for a bit during reconstruction what was taken out by the garrison. But, they realized if they waited, they could choose to try and emulate slavery without having actual slavery by reducing them to second class citizens and making sure they 'know their place'. Of course, they will try their best to pretty things up for the 'oversensitive foreigners', having experienced the power of the federal govt. In a way, it could be argued that the war didn't actually end, only changed it's nature, though recent events may lead to a war between groups in the south, with both sides appealing to the Federal govt to support them, or at least not support their enemy.
Nah, what would be un-American would be not overthrowing rightfully elected officials and instead forcing down other country's throats a psycho dictator that bends to the USA's every whim.
That's just part and parcel of the American hegemony experience.

Current aspirations. Recruit intellectuals. Infiltrate government. Recruit more intellectuals. Obtain weaponry. Train self defense groups. Recruit intellectuals. Obtain "special weapons". Train "special warfare research groups"
So everybody has defense groups right? Anybody ever thought of having them all do like . . . joint training or something?
A bit of competition is always healthy doncha know.
*Looks at the results*
*Sees that the Orange Disciples' effort to educate the populace and ensure they were properly informed about their choices led to spanking the (still very regressive and racist) Democrats losing all over*
Yeah it works, though it'll be a half-hearted single-statement in the news sort of thing where he says he'd prefer the LLRP over the main two parties then hopes everyone forgets about it.

With the depression only slightly improving, every faction has had their income reduced as members find themselves unable to pay as much or at all and businesses find profits to be down. In the chaos of the economy, the United Front would grow to well over half a million members while countless other organizations would form and grow.
Some actions are universal and can be included in any organization's plan, others are just for one. Funds are per turn, they don't stack. Any ?s are for you to write-in a number for that action. New actions as write-ins are encouraged to be suggested at any time.
When voting, put the organization acronym before the name of the plan like this:
[X][WCUA] Plan do stuff
Universal Actions:
[] Require dues
--[] Small
--[] Medium
--[] Large
--[] Based on income
-[] Allow delinquent members
More dues reduces membership but increases income. Allowing delinquent members offsets the membership decrease but you also get less income.
[] Make a newspaper.
-[] Local: 5 funds, -2 per turn.
-[] National: 20 funds, -10 per turn.
-[] Many local across core region: 100 funds, -20 per turn.
Making newspapers can increase recruitment and increase the effectiveness of other actions such as putting candidates up for election. Only use an action for initial creation.
[] Stockpile guns. ? funds.
To complete is members/100. Roll 1d20 per funds. Rolling completion, decays 5% per turn representing use and action never disappears.
[] Train militia. ? cadres.
Uses 1 funds and 10 "stockpile guns" progress per cadre. Get 5d20 trained militia per cadre.
[] Organize protests about ?
Write-in option.
[] Attack organization building of ?
-[] ? times.
-[] Claim credit.
Write-in, can be an OTL organization or one of the other player organizations. Costs 1 wealth per building attacked. Note if it's discovered you did it, or if you claim credit, there will be consequences.
[] Make a public campaign defaming a rival person or group.
-[] Spend ? funds.
[] Send agitators to publicly speak supporting your cause.
-[] On the streets of cities. ? funds.
-[] In the factories of cities. ? funds.
-[] To mining towns. ? funds.

[] Set up a coop credit union in San Fransisco, which is to replace the many bankrupt banks and work to serve its members. 5 funds.
[] Find whoever legally owns the land of shuttered factories in San Fransisco and give funds to members to buy them and run democratically. 15 funds.
[] Approach Governor Waite and invite him into the United Front's political party, taking the Populist Party's state election apparatus with him.
While Governor Waite was able to win re-election last year, it has been by an increasingly small margin. It's clear the populist party is on its way out nationally, yet enjoys popularity in Colorado. Using this popularity could be a huge jumpstart to the United Front's local electoral campaign, especially with his win in earning women's suffrage in Colorado.
[] Adopt a "one big union" strategy across the USA.
-[] Write-in optional name change
With the limited success of the strikes last year, many are advocating for further cooperation between radical unions in opposition to the AFL. This would continue their doctrine of duel-membership, with members able to be both in the WCUA and their local union, with said members being encouraged to have their union associate with the WCUA for national cooperation. It would switch away from their local focus and towards one of managing and representing all the pro-United Front unions across the nation. Removes actions not directly related to unions, adds actions related to unions across the states.
The Land and Labor Reform Party:
32,390 supporters
5 actions, 74 funds
[] Contact various politicians in the main two parties to see if they would be willing to be affiliated with the Land and Labor Reform Party.
[] Put more effort into properly setting up your own campaign group in North Dakota. 2 funds.
[] Try to contact Populist campaigning groups in North Dakota, convincing them that the populist cause has lost and the LLRP's more local focus has sustainability for the progressive cause.
[] Set up a proper campaigning apparatus in South Dakota based on lessons learnt to better campaign in the future. 4 funds, -4 per turn.
[] Give funds to the Sons of the Frontier to expand their operations to more states.
-[] Nebraska, 5 funds
-[] Iowa, 5 funds
-[] Michigan, 10 funds

-[] Philadelphia, 20 funds, -10 per turn
-[] Boston, 14 funds, -7 per turn
-[] Buffalo, 8 funds, -4 per turn
-[] Other New York cities, 20 funds, -10 per turn
-[] Connecticut cities, 16 funds, -8 per turn
-[] New Jersey cities, 20 funds, -10 per turn
You may use one action to do only up to 2 regions at the same time for the above action.
[] Expand credit union offices to more cities, allowing easier access.
-[] Philadelphia, 1 fund
-[] Boston, 1 fund
-[] Other New York cities, 3 funds
-[] Connecticut cities, 2 funds
-[] New Jersey cities, 3 funds
You may do all these at once, if you want.
[] Send organizers into the New York countryside to find former Farmers' Alliance farmers who have been hit hard by the recession and try to convince them to form councils, joining the RFAA.
-[] Also impress that, in addition to the coop stores and mills they already have, they should turn their farms into mutuals or coops, sharing workloads and equipment.
[] Find farms that have gone bankrupt and in danger of being bought out by capitalists and buy them yourselves, combining them into coops that the former residents are welcome to work at. 30 funds.
-[] First talk to the farmers involved for their permission.
-[] Keep them more integrated with the federation like your factories, still democratically run, but profits (after a healthy wage) put towards the federation as a whole.
[] Send agitators to New England unions to try to convince them of the necessity of Anarcho-Collectivism.
[] Call for a general strike among contacted unions.
[] Accuse and defame the most influential and reactionary of the New York police department to try to get them fired, allowing your members to get into a better position. 8 funds.

[] Find whoever legally owns the land of shuttered factories and give funds to members to buy them and run democratically. 15/30 funds.
[] Do a test run of buying houses and other livable buildings in New York and using them as communal living. 10 funds, -2 per turn.
[] Try setting up community gardens all across New York City to supply the soup kitchens and feed the community, buying the space for it. 10 funds, -3 per turn.
[] Set up branch offices, many permanent meeting halls in towns all across the black belt. 40 funds, +1 action.

-[] Georgia
[] Buy out some New Orleans industries in cooperation with the unions there that have failed due to the depression. 25/45 funds.

[] Try to force a confrontation during a standoff with the White League where you have the numerical advantage.

[] Set up charitable aid out of the churches and synagogues in Philadelphia that you're associated with, open to all. 3 funds, -3 per turn.

[] Set up soup kitchens in California cities and associated towns. 4 funds, -4 per turn.
[] Set up mutual aid groups in Portland, Oregon, and other nearby places. 2 funds, -1 per turn.
Portland in particular has a large Japantown, and so it'll be primarily working with them to do the organizing.
[] Set up mutual aid groups in Seattle, Washington, Tacoma, Washington, and other nearby places. 3 funds, -1 per turn.
Seattle and Tacoma have recently been subject to anti-Chinese race riots, and the labor movement there is still heavily racist, making it more difficult to organize there.
[] Look into restructuring the organization.
As the Yellow Scarves, Factory Management Council, and Affiliated Town Coordination Committee all have democratic self-organizing, there have been suggestions to make proposals to have leadership directly chosen by these suborganizations, something that may also keep it from fracturing. Gives more vote options.

-[] Other Illinois cities, 14 funds, -7 per turn
-[] Other Wisconsin cities, 8 funds, -4 per turn
-[] Other Indiana cities, 16 funds, -8 per turn
You may do one action to do up for 2 regions of the above.

[] Leave the United Front.
Votes (free actions):
[] Agree
[] Disagree, and make your own United Front political party. (Write-in name elsewise called United Front).

[] Each constituent organization may choose how much of their income they wish to contribute to the United Front.
[] The United Front will not fund its own endeavors collective but instead simply act as a forum for the constituent organizations to work together.
The electoralists in the United Front are the strongest advocates for an income, as this will make campaigning for elections nationally much more effective. Note: This is of next turns funding, this turn is unaffected.
If each choose funding:
[] Write-in either amount or percentage.
@Physici just to remind myself, the Newspaper and Employment Programs will keep happening, but I'd have to subtract the 20 Funds for those 2 actions from our 68 funds?

While Governor Waite was able to win re-election last year, it has been by an increasingly small margin. It's clear the populist party is on its way out nationally, yet enjoys popularity in Colorado. Using this popularity could be a huge jumpstart to the United Front's local electoral campaign, especially with his win in earning women's suffrage in Colorado.

The goal of this plan is to expand mutual efforts as quickly as possible. They all give us recruitment bonuses, too, so the earlier we grab them the better. The credit unions are important if we're going to continue our parallel society project and start purchasing more factories or communal housing and garden space, and dockworker action is because we really need to work towards finishing that.
WCUA thoughts so far. Plan (particularly the proposed name change - the plan name is a reference to the first IWW congress, but I didn't want to just appropriate the name, seemed a bit on the nose) subject to revision based on further discussion and confirmation as to how much money UF is givingturns out 15 funds, for a total of 76.

-[x][UF] Each constituent organization must pay 10% of their income to the United Front.
Moving to eclipse the thrice-damned AFofL is an obvious strategic priority, and both getting the extra action and finishing our existing big campaign are both tactical successes. Other than that, grow the strike fund and give UF's electoral wing a boost on the last turn it's available assuming the one big union strategy is taken.
SLP was the American section of the First International and are committed Marxists (the latter something the only semi-marxist player org prior to the SPA should probably care about). And if they're offering to join UF as an affiliate the euphoria of the times must have overwhelmed their sectarianism - something further participation should wean them off of.
UF centralizing financially is all to the good of the movement as a whole, and the arrangement helps funds-poor organizations even if it also does help electoralists. But also, electoralists are fine if they're not possibilists.
@Physici just to remind myself, the Newspaper and Employment Programs will keep happening, but I'd have to subtract the 20 Funds for those 2 actions from our 68 funds?
[][TFAM] Plan Attack the Racists
-[] Make a newspaper.
--[] Create more Local Newspapers in the Black Belt: 20 funds, -? per turn. (I'll leave determining the per turn cost to the QM)
--[] National: 20 funds, -10 per turn.
---[] Have our newspapers print articles attacking the White League.
-[] Organize protests about (the White League, its anti-American beliefs and its illegal conduct against law-abiding American citizens)
-[] Make a public campaign defaming a rival person or group. (the White League)
--[] Spend 15 funds.
-[] Send agitators to publicly speak supporting your cause.
--[] On the streets of cities. 11 funds.
---[] Also use the opportunity to further attack the White League, painting them as violent criminals and thugs.
-[] Make a fund dedicated to buying out farms that members work on and giving them to the sharecroppers who work them when possible, as well as buying equipment for them. 15 funds. 423/(20150) progress, 1d20 per fund.
-[] Find members best at bartering and have them train others to have a solid cadre that can cheaply buy farms and equipment for your members. 2 funds, -1 funds per turn, +2 per die in the above action.
-[][Defense Group] Try to force a confrontation during a standoff with the White League where you have the numerical advantage.
--[] Arrange it so that we can paint the White League as the clear agressors once violence breaks out, and ourselves as the innocent defenders.

RE: the WCUA, we should definitely invest in an additional action this turn, and earmark 15ish funds to have a solid chance of finishing up the farmworkers union, which would put us at 6 remaining funds, unless the UF wants to fund our expansion.

@Zimmerwald1915 , @Random Member are the WCUA or FAM interested in grabbing the branch offices action? We can spare 40 funds for other orgs, so if one or both of you want to grab it this turn we can help you pay for it
