@Azel

1. Are there ways to increase these skills?
2. How do we get more Luck points?
3. Are these the only traits we'll have or will we be getting more as we succeed and fail over the course of the quest?

1. Yes. Training can get you the first two levels and after that, only experience will do. Use it and it will go up with time.
2. Have a major win or loss, or gain a major negative trait.
3. Those will change as time goes on.

[X] Prepare an ambush in the temple. Low visibility will impede both sides equally, but you have the element of surprise.

Nice, Connections is truly g8t. We can learn stuff, but you can't learn being born a son of a Senator :p.

Did some looking around and I thing we can fit these through the gate and justify the budget line as "security for isolated facilities"

Staff weapons are low pentration so things will be small arms proof but might be weak to Staff cannons.
Yeah, that would fit through the gate with room to spare. Though you will need to do some remodeling, since neither the gate room, nor the way there had been designed with MRAPs in mind. You shouldn't expect it to withstand sustained fire though. Staff weapons have a low penetration, but they degrade armor quite well.

We should remodel anyway to put better security around the gate. Have a pair of bunkers and raised firing positions covering the area in front of the gate. Adding on a motor pool and cargo area to the project would be cheap.

Also thr canon gate room is at the bottom of an old missle silo so an elevator is also an option.

- maybe we should tell the people in camp to hide and cover?

So what would be a good name for trading post/military base on Abydos? My thinking is that we turn the gate temple into a base so we can trade for Nadaquah with the people here while, by pure coincidence I assure you, ensure the safety of the only people off earth who like us at the moment.

Permanent installations are a fools errand given we have zero ability to contest an assault from the orbitals. Our best case scenario would be to find an unknown/forgotten world (or Earth if none available) and offer to help the Abydonians evacuate when the Gouald come knocking. It would be unlikely we could get all of them out but better to save some than none.

It's currently the only known location we can get Nadqauh from at this time that means we may well not have a choice if we want to get a stock pile of a a strategic resource going asap.

Sure, we should get what we can while we can but investing more than absolutely required makes no sense because we are just going to lose it, probably sooner rather than later.

I'm not even sure what we're using Nadquah for. I... Admittedly don't know a lot of the lore, just the silly bits.

Pretty much this stargate comand really struggled in the early seasons to secure enough of the material. As it is a rare material that you need for pretty much all really advanced technology in setting in some form or another. You especially need a lot of it if you're going to build any decent space warships.

I'd rather not have Jackson's love interests keep getting kidnapped by aliens.

I'm trying to keep things so that people who don't have prior knowledge of Stargate learn the important things. So there will be an explanation why this stuff matters once you got your hands on it and spent some research time to learn more about it.

@Azel, can a Little Bird fit through the gate? Having any Air asset would help a lot in exploration. Plus Miniguns and Hellfire Missiles to play with. 1 should be enough, I think the Army has several in their inventory for Special Forces. The rotors would have to be taken off first and then reattached on the other side but it should fit.

Could an Apache also fit? Its also mainly used by the Army not the Air Force so they can't do anything about it. If we ask the army to buy their old Helos in exchange for information on Apophis or alien tech so they could better prepare (the new M5 rifle would be a great help against Jaffa) just in case we couldn't stop them. It could be a major boost for our attack power in case shot hits the fan. Of course it wouldn't fit if the gate on the other side is in a building or underground but if the gate is outside, having air support is better than not having it.

Also what year is this? HK417 is a fairly new rifle, do we have man portable drones now that we can use to provide birds eye views or kamikaze into Jaffa bases for a distraction?

Final question, we have a nearly blank check right cause we Space Force, could we buy our own Heavy Equipment from companies like Barrett for their M82 AM Rifle, Milkor for their M32 MGL, FN for their P90, and etc? NVGs would also be nice to have since are human and humans can't see in the dark very well.

keep in mind we might need to launder our gear through the other branches somehow because people are going to notice when the branch that's supposed to be a bunch of desk jockies is buying enough gear to stage a new invasion of Iraq.
