In Fine, Solum Est Tibi (A Quest in Rome, During The Fall of the Republic)

I wonder how future roman historians will write of this. Because on one hand, we are not full blooded Roman and they will hate being reminded of this being a reason for our success.

On the other, we just recruited 25k warriors and maybe got Rome a permanent ally in the Black Sea. They are sure to have mixed feelings about it.

Or they'll just say it was our Roman spirit that caused the scythians to follow us.

What the fuck!? 5 times it exploded…the dice gods do smile upon us comrades!
Magoose dice, not even once.

WEll a lot of roman emperors, especially late ones, weren't full-blooded romans.

So maybe they will look to us with what a good roman citizen, a member of the nation, will do.

Well most likely not a permanent ally.

The Steppes are about to get wild with mass migrations in a century.

And shit will get real.
Or they'll just say it was our Roman spirit that caused the scythians to follow us.
That too.
You mean the Greco-Roman gods comrade! Let's hope they wouldn't be fickle but that's a fool's hope
Well, at least Mars smiles upon us.
I think Papa Sulla will be very proud of us for this!
Sulla will be more then proud of us.

He'll be wanting reinforcements.

[x]Stay with the Legate: You will stay with the Legate, and see how he commands this battle.

The equitae are not going to meaningfully effect this battle outnumbered as they are by better-quality allies. And we are thick-striped. Best stick with command and control.

[X]Gather Volunteers to Storm the Wall: You are going to gather a group of madmen who want glory and honor who wish to take the city. All you need to do is to figure out a way onto the walls without requiring a great deal of resources.

GLORY TO THE FIRST MAN TO DIE! FOR ROME!
Thought for real we are a beast in melee and being first to scale the 🧱 will always be rewarded (should you survive) and we're definitely smart enough to get up on them without needing a exorbitant amount of time and resources.

You know have a good Granddad when you give your Granddaughter an army.

You know have a good Granddaughter when you give your Grandpa back a bigger army then you started with.

You've got my cote!

Come one you dumb apes, you wanna live forever!?

Or something like that.

Actually, You will have an option to say a speech now.
I will admit you kind of stole my first choice for 'storming the wall speeches' now I need to give it some thought.

Come on, let´s get our first Corona Muralis

And really, seeing our skill level in both Swordsmanship and Athletics, and how respected we are by the rank and file we are kind of made for this...

I prefer the Stannis approach here... Admit that is dangerous as fuck and be the first one going up the ladder.

[X]Command the Roman Cavalry: You will take command of the small group of Roman Cavalry and then use them to whatever effect that is needed

And then the Winged Hussars Equites arrived. Any other option is basically micromanaging our men, when we're basically it for the Calvary...our one chance to lead the largest Calvary amassed to date.

Aha, so people look to be aiming at the mural crown.
Hey, it's good money for us if we manage to get that, and we will need it due to the villa... not really existing anymore.

Also, damn, those rolls.

A few things...
  • We are only commanding our equites, not the cavalry of our allies (300-600 riders), so no we are not "leading the largest Calvary amassed to date" we are at best a small part of it.
  • Roman cavalry was really mediocre compared with, well, basically everyone else
  • We are at the point in time in which the Equites have lost most of their previous prestige, and we are only a few decades away until all the Romal calvary will be composed of auxiliaries
So if we really want glory (and given our political situation we need it) storming the walls is the way to go.

Pretty much.

Sulla expected us to be a badass. Not also be a diplomatic badass as well, using the knowledge and information from our uncle to do impossible.

Well here is the thing.

I am fully willing to wound and possibly kill you if you don't succed.

Hey its a damn good crown to have.

Well, if we manage to kill the Enemy commander, we can claim a majority of the loot.

But our Cav are also shit compared to our allies.

Really mediocre.

Like everyone is better then roman cav
We are at the point in time in which the Equites have lost most of their previous prestige, and we are only a few decades away until all the Romal calvary will be composed of auxiliaries
That too.

But having roman born cavalry would really help.
Our personal skills are best suited to leading cavalry though. We are very good at it.
We're very good at killing men to. remember that.
