[X] Plan Soulsborne
[X] Plan Dracotech
[X] Anti-Magic Swordsman

In the case of the last, a sufficiently powerful freeform mage should be able to unbind Nemo's soul from the sword and rebind the original owner's, assuming they are as honorable as the description implies.

Also I bet the existence of the fateless has something to do with fate being broken as such Nemo would be the most encouraged to fix fate and save the fateless
Edit: weird according to the vote tally hastur's vote is not counting as a part of my plan any reason for this

I like plan dracotech. Fuck magic lets live a bunch of lives and obtain power through SCIENCE while dying a lot!

Well we have to spend our Fate Coins on each and every use of One More Chance so I feel like Nemo is better served through use of the sword although I bet that the same entities that can detect time resetting can also see/find Nemo

Current dwarf tech level is late 1800s, per Discord. I envision, perhaps, a dragon with a gatling gun attached to their saddle, being aimed and fired by a dwarf. And of course steam power! Combine harvesters! Electricity! There's also our proximity to the Forest of the Void/Empty Woods, which the Moth spoke of.

Dracotech has 2; Soulsborne has 2; Anti-Magic Swordsman has 2; Perfect Illusionist has 3. I'd very much like more votes on the Nemo options, since folks have voted for one but none of the others.

I will vote for the 2 others if one of the others vote for mine, so that we beat the completely different illusion

  • [X] Plan Perfect Illusion.
-[X] Gin, the Shapeshifting Bard - 'I haven't eaten in days, my feet are covered in blisters, and I'm probably going to pass out soon. But hey, I've got my flute.'
-[X] Normal Mode - The Quest as it was envisioned by the QM.
-[X] Aural Section - In a long forgotten universe, gold dominated all that there was.
-[X] Dragon Mountains - Birthplace and housing of the proud dragon-riding, technologically-innovative dwarves. Obsessed with innovation, money and alcohol, Dragon Mountains is the place to go if you like technology and getting drunk, or both at the same time. It is an entire nation, completely entombed into great underground cities carved into stone. Beware, for these mountains are the prime nesting grounds of dragons, who the dwarves tame on a regular basis.

PSA: Voting Etiquette
Providing good explanations and logic behind a partcular plan/vote will earn you and the thread a number of Fate Coins that depends on how good your argument is.

Your current balance is roughly 2 Fate Coins, rounded up from the actual mathematical value.

[X] Plan Blood Calls
-[X] Vaya, the Divine Vessel
-[X] Normal Mode - The Quest as it was envisioned by the QM.
-[X] Sanguine Pact - Through strength, I draw blood, through blood, gain victory.
-[X] The Kingdom of Arthrion

Will the blood tell her the answer? Will it bring an end to the lament?

I made this plan because it creates an interesting conflict.

The sanguine pact isn't the power of the noble warriors and kings willing to sacrifice their lives for the noble goals. Nor it is the power of priests, devoting themselves to gods.

There is nothing noble in it. This power rests upon suffering and domination. It causes pain and ignites the lust of blood.

That's why it's interesting to see how Vaya will wield it. Will she stay firm in pursuit of the higher goals, will she save her God. Or will she fall, unable to contain the rage inside?

[X] Plan Blood Calls
[X] Plan: Once and Future Queen of a Heavenly Kingdom
As a player from the previous iteration, I just want to have another go at it.

Vote will lock tomorrow. Get the last votes & reasonings in!

[X] Plan Soulsborne
[X] Plan Dracotech
[X] Anti-Magic Swordsman

The last one has very good synchronicity since being immune to magic nullifies most of the problems of being a no-magic melee build, or well any no-magic build, Dracotech gives us an alternative and essentially makes us an Anathema to magic, and Soulsborne is the Murder everything with maximum efficiency since one of the main threats are Mages, but if they create hideous monsters of varying physical strength, that would be a problem, a large problem.

Vote is locked. Update will come on Monday. Fate Coin value is at 4.5

Tiebreaker
There's three plans tied for first place. So a tiebreaker is necessary. Vote again, and if there's a tie again by tomorrow, I'll choose based on your arguments and reasonings. Omake and Wordcount will give more power to your vote!

[] Plan Perfect Illusion - Gin, Normal Difficulty, Aural Section, Dragon Mountains.
+Lots of possibilities for shenanigans, and angst.
+Gin is a fun character, in my opinion, and fun to write.
+Will be interesting to see the POV of a blind character.
-Will probably need extra support to defeat some of the most fearsome enemies if you don't play your cards right. Minmax, my beautiful nerds.
-+? Horny bard.

[] Plan Once and Future Queen of a Heavenly Kingdom - Vaya, Normal Difficulty, Once and Future, The Great Wastelands.
+Pretty much the original Quest, but with a different starting point.
+- Will lead to a Kingdom-building story. Could be boring.
+Vaya opens the path to a parallel plotline that travels with the main one.
-The Crown's geas could stunt character development and progression.
-Least interesting character, personality-wise.

[] Plan Soulsborne - Nemo, Hard Difficulty, One More Chance, The Great Wastelands
? The most difficult combination - Nemo and Hard Mode.
? There's hidden synergy in this plan, and that'll be for you to find out.
? Nemo is the character most involved in the meta-plot.

[X] Plan Perfect Illusion - Gin, Normal Difficulty, Aural Section, Dragon Mountains.

as I've said before, I'm fine as long as we don't pick the priestess.

but here's my reasoning for the Perfect Illusion plan:
Gin's shapechanging and the minor omnicompetence of Aural Section make him a perfect infiltrator which I think would be very useful throughout the whole quest and Aural Section will rapidly increase the quality of our illusions, and as Gabriel has said it would be interesting to see the POV of a blind character or one with non-standard sight. on the subject of overcoming the blindness, gab confirmed in the discord that it would be possible to make gin grind his shapeshifting until he can copy non-humanoid races and then keep grinding until he can pick and choose characteristics from any of them, that alone would allow us to overcome the disadvantages of blindness while keeping things interesting but gabs also confirmed that by that point it would likely be possible, if we also grind our magic, to give ourselves a controlled form of synesthesia to turn our hodgepodge of enhanced senses into some variant of sight not affected by the curse, and that's just one possible solution to an easily circumvented disadvantage. I also really like the idea of playing an illusionist and among other general benefits, Aural Section would allow us the easiest option to re-spec gin if we wanted to. After all, he is minorly omnicompetent, meaning that if we want to turn him into a rouge, a spy, a warrior, a pure mage, etc. it would be doable if we start early enough.
