Remember how Unke used his own children to keep living forever?
That's why we do not have a reliable way to break curses. As for disease...HE's cursed to be cursed I guess.
We already had a curse-breaking effect on him and it didn't take, so now he'll just stay away from deep water and live a happy life.
We have better options to treat diseases now. Inge's Fortune Hex is helpful for that, plus we have Alchemical Antiplague available for an extra boost. Moru is still around for Lesser Restoration access, too. That's why we do not have a reliable way to break curses. As for disease...
Slimy Doom (Ex)
Slam—injury; save Fort DC 21; onset 1 day; frequency 1 day; effect 1d4 Con damage; cure 2 consecutive saves.
Are we sure that Roland did not catch this?
(if we can be mechanically sure I'll be happy)
As for human sacriface – Zaia suggests that sarcophagus could be used without them.
I think that Marcella also can benefit from human sacrifice, and benefit us as well. But we use Marcella (and help her with her development) in other way.Yeah, unless we're planning on sacrificing people, we really don't need this thing.
Why are you even considering human sacrifice in the first place?I think that Marcella also can benefit from human sacrifice, and benefit us as well. But we use Marcella (and help her with her development) in other way.
Maybe haggle with Aina about it?
Err... I do not cosider it, it's probably some misunderstanding. Why are you even considering human sacrifice in the first place?
Maybe let ourselves be haggled down to 50/50?Maybe haggle with Aina about it?
I think fundamentally, when I find a bag of money in another person's basement, it's theirs, even if I had to shoo off some rats to get it. A finders fee seems fair to me, an equal share not.
Considering that the slime thing was Unke, I'd rather not Esha become something like that. Also, this sarcophagus may be a valuable piece of knowledge in Esha quest of immortality. Not the direct use "sacriface your progenity and live (probably) forever), but different hints and work principlesю
It dies with a startlingly human screech, one in a familiar voice, though you had heard it only once before on the field of battle. So dies Unke the Red for he third and you hope final time as his armor crashes to the rough floor with a final deafening clank.
We have better options to treat diseases now. Inge's Fortune Hex is helpful for that, plus we have Alchemical Antiplague available for an extra boost. Moru is still around for Lesser Restoration access, too.
Beyond the cost of trying to figure out how to use the sarcophagus and then paying the cost each time, wherever it may be, there is another issue with claiming it; keeping it. There is no way we get it out of here intact without people learning about it, and that kind of news eventually spreads. It's one thing to find a sizable treasure, there is lots of money floating around in one form or another, but this is a powerful magical artifact. If the wrong people learn about it (and in this world most people are the wrong people), they're going to come take it.
@Artemis1992, how about a 50/50 split instead?
There are nice things, then are things kingdoms go to war to control.By that logic we should not ever have nice things. People are going to come after Unke's armor, his gauntlet and Durendal too.
Things with this power are definitely rare. Esha is going to have a heart attack if we simply decide to break it. Research from it is simply going to bring a lot of useful results or theories.
We can decide to break it or sell it after we understand its purpose.
@DragonParadox , events of chapter 7.6 happened on 15 of Ashinu-ezna, then the interlude took place on 12, then the chapter 7.7 on 14 and 17.
It's very disturbing that in chapter 7.6 Marcella received the first improvement...
