😫 I feel terrible. In the interest of moving things along, I changed my vote to

Note that the tallybot only counts your latest vote, so you'll note that the final count doesn't show your SIM vote. I'm tracking it this time (since I was waiting for that vote), but for future reference, it plays nicer with the bot if you either edit your old vote, or post a complete new vote.

It's late-ish (in addition to the tie, I also had a bunch of appointments today), so update early tomorrow, probably.

Wow I'm on a roll tonight. I did actually edit my original vote, but I didn't realize that I messed it up with the other reply. I'll have to remember that

6 - RETRIBUTION ARRAY ONLINE
Given the presence of hostile creatures onboard, you decide that activating some defensive systems is a priority, so you decide to devote a considerable chunk of your rapidly dwindling power to the Retribution Array. You don't have any resources for the factory to use yet, and haven't quite decided whether it's worthwhile to start scrapping large parts of the factory to get some, so you'll keep it running idle for now.

RETRIBUTION ARRAY ONLINE

Under Emergency Power, the Retribution Array will consume 5d100 energy per round in upkeep, in lieu of Mana.
Each subsystem activated will consume an additional 5d100 energy per round in upkeep, until deactivated.
Without sensors or the processing power of the Apocalypse Core, manual control of the automated defences is inefficient, though you may attempt to supervise them in any given area.

Potential mutiny averted; Legion Control accepts your command authority and is willing to provide informative answers to your questions. For now.

You pause for a moment, somewhat alarmed by the prospect of a belligerent automated system in control of some number of independent drones, but the Retribution Array is even now coming online, and it takes but a moment of attention to prioritize the activation of four auto-turrets located within the Locust Factory. These ones seem to have been intended to protect the Locust Control core from any possible attack; you swivel them to aim at that core.

UPDATING TACTICAL PARAMETERS...
LEGION CONTROL SUBORDINATED TO COMMAND AUTHORITY OF SIMULATED INTELLIGENCE MODULE
1049 LOCUSTS SUCCESSFULLY REVIVED FROM HIBERNATION
LOCUSTS ORGANIZED INTO 29 TACTICAL UNITS, WITH 5 REINFORCEMENTS
9 UNITS REQUIRED TO SECURE LOCUST FACTORY AND READY AVAILABLE EQUIPMENT

20 UNITS AVAILABLE FOR IMMEDIATE DEPLOYMENT

That's much better. The trustworthiness of Legion Control may be somewhat suspect, but it seems disinclined to be disobedient while you're pointing guns at it.

QUERY
ENUMERATE CAPABILITIES OF LOCUST UNITS

LOCUST UNITS COMPOSED OF 36 INDIVIDUAL LOCUSTS
CAPABILITIES INCLUDE
LIGHT COMBAT OPERATIONS IN SURFACE AND SHIPBOARD CONDITIONS
LIMITED VOID ENDURANCE AND OPERATING CAPACITY

PILOTING AND MAINTENANCE OF GROUND AND AEROSPACE VEHICLES
FIELD EXPEDIENT CONSTRUCTION AND REPAIR
RESOURCE HARVESTING AND TRANSPORTATION

SCAVENGING DAMAGED TECHNOLOGICAL EQUIPMENT
SECURING AND RECOVERING MAGICAL EQUIPMENT

CAPABILITIES CAN BE EXTENDED WITH SPECIALIZED EQUIPMENT
OMEN BATTLESUITS UPGRADE LOCUST UNITS TO MEDIUM COMBATANTS WITH HIGH MOBILITY AND EXTENDED VOID CAPABILITY
SCAVENGER HARNESSES PROVIDE MODERATE VOID CAPABILITY AND ADDITIONAL TOOLS FOR NON COMBAT OPERATIONS AND RESOURCE TRANSPORTATION
PESTILENCE-CLASS DROPSHIP ALLOWS RAPID ORBITAL DEPLOYMENT OF 10 LOCUST UNITS

DROPSHIP IS CAPABLE OF RESOURCE TRANSPORTATION AND LIGHT SUPPORTING FIRE

QUERY
ARE AVAILABLE LOCUST UNITS SUFFICIENT TO SECURE THE GENERATOR ROOM AGAINST INTRUDERS?

EVALUATING TACTICAL SITUATION...
NULL SPACE ENTITIES POSE LOW COMBAT THREAT
CAUTION NULL SPACE ENTITIES MANIFEST SPONTANEOUSLY IN NULL SPACE

NULL SPACE ENTITIES ATTRACTED TO ACTIVE POWER SOURCES
EXPOSURE TO NULL SPACE DAMAGING TO UNPROTECTED LOCUSTS
HEAVY ATTRITION EXPECTED FOR UNPROTECTED LOCUSTS OUTSIDE SECURED AREAS UNTIL LIFE SUPPORT RESTORED

CURRENT TACTICAL PLAN FOLLOWS

LEGION CONTROL TO DEPLOY 5 UNITS OF LOCUSTS IN OMEN BATTLESUITS TO GENERATOR ROOM
COMBATANTS TO BE SUPPORTED BY 5 UNITS OF LOCUSTS IN SCAVENGER HARNESSES
SCAVENGER UNITS TO SUPPORT EMERGENCY REPAIRS AFTER AREA SECURED

VICTORY EXPECTED WITH MINIMAL CASUALTIES
MOVEMENT OF UNITS EXPECTED TO ATTRACT ADDITIONAL HOSTILE ATTENTION
UNANTICIPATED AMBUSHES MAY DELAY OPERATIONAL TEMPO
ACTIVATION OF INTERNAL DEFENSIVE SYSTEMS MAY IMPROVE TACTICAL SITUATION

ADDITIONAL PREPARATIONS FOLLOW
PESTILENCE-CLASS DROPSHIP AVAILABLE FOR EMERGENCY DEPLOYMENT THROUGH HULL BREACH IN LOCUST FACTORY
LEGION CONTROL TO PREPARE DROPSHIP FOR DEPLOYMENT TO ENGINEERING SEGMENT FOR MANUAL FUEL TRANSFER
INTENDED DEPLOYMENT LIMITED TO 1 UNIT OF UNSUITED LOCUSTS AS CREW PLUS 2 UNITS OF LOCUSTS IN SCAVENGER HARNESSES TO MAXIMIZE CARGO SPACE
WARNING LIMITED INFORMATION ON EXTERNAL TACTICAL SITUATION
DROPSHIP ANTICIPATED CAPABLE OF LIMITED OPERATIONS IN NULL SPACE

ACTIVATION OF EXTERNAL DEFENSIVE SYSTEMS NOT RECOMMENDED AT THIS TIME
RISK OF ATTRACTING ATTENTION FROM LARGER NULL SPACE ENTITIES OUTWEIGHS TACTICAL BENEFIT

Additional information slowly trickles in from the Retribution Array as you finish your communications with Legion Control. Unlike the Locust Factory, the Retribution Array is highly decentralized; it constitutes all the weapons systems on the ship, the targeting and fire control systems that support them... as well as defensive systems like the armour and the defensive barriers. You get the sense that the Retribution Array is more heavily reliant on Mana than the Locust Factory, and that you only have access to a tiny fraction of its capabilities with electrical energy alone. Still, a tiny fraction of these capabilities seems formidable indeed. Still, without sensors, you'll be firing mostly blind, trusting the local automated control systems to know what to shoot at.

The voting is getting a bit more complicated, now. Since there are currently five subvotes, including one with two viable actions, I've added tags to all the actions. The top two votes for RETRB actions will succeed, as will the top vote for all other actions. You don't get to tell Legion Control what to do unless you take the SIM TO ORDER LEGION CONTROL personal action, but sensibly-worded additional queries might help you cooperate with it.

we are really starting to stretch thin our power we need to get that siphon back online by the turn after this one other wise we will need to salvage fuel from the tanks and burn it in the factories and probably take the retribution array offline.

I don't see how the anti magic barrier would help right now? Unless the nullspace creatures are magic and I missed that.

I haven't said anything one way or the other, as you haven't spent any effort investigating null space or the principles governing it.

Admittedly, you'd have gotten a few more hints by now, had the sensors not failed almost immediately.

7 - GENERATOR ROOM SECURED
You've got a fairly narrow window here; trying to carefully manage your quickly dwindling power while you quickly act to secure additional power. Given those demands, you refrain from activating any new systems, and keep the factory idle, to give you as much room as possible to support the defensive action.

Ordinarily, you'd let the automated systems do their own work, but you're curious, and have the time and attention to model the energy flows to the various subsystems. You notice that they aren't particularly efficient, and that both systems will be wasting a good deal of energy due to the battle damage, while not concentrating their efforts in the areas that you're particularly concerned with. So you envision the tweaks that you'd like to attempt, and run a quick simulation to see what would happen.

You quickly get an answer; your imprecise fumbling would overload a power relay, detonating it explosively... and that explosion would likely deal additional damage to nearby systems... like fuel storage... which would probably create a much more catastrophic secondary explosion. You decide not to interfere in the ongoing process, for now; if you can't see anywhere to make things better, you certainly aren't going to make them worse!

As the antimagic fields snap into place, something is banished from the ship, and the creatures aboard become quite agitated. Your turrets are reporting that they're aggressively swarming against anything exposed and active that they can reach, but the ones you can detect are getting killed off pretty quickly. Of course, your influence doesn't exactly reach everywhere...

CLEVER TACTICAL CHOICE
ANTIMAGICAL EFFECTS FORCIBLY IMPOSE BASELINE REALITY CONCEPTS
NULL SPACE EFFECTS IMPLY BREAKDOWN OF PHYSICAL LAW
ANTIMAGIC NOTABLY MITIGATES NULL SPACE CONDITIONS
RESULT SIMILAR TO VOID ENVIRONMENT
EXISTING LOCUSTS NOT SUPPLIED WITH MAGICAL EQUIPMENT
NO DECLINE IN FUNCTIONALITY FROM ANTIMAGIC
SIGNIFICANT IMPROVEMENT IN SURVIVABILITY FROM LACK OF NULL SPACE EFFECTS

STANDARD LOCUSTS DEPLOYABLE WITHOUT HIGH ATTRITION IF ANTIMAGIC MAINTAINED

Legion Control shares tactical feeds with you as the deployed Locusts move through the wrecked corridors. They move carefully, but efficiently, maintaining a formation spread out enough to allow clear lines of fire, but which still allows plenty of opportunity for mutual support. The Omen Units take point, followed by the more-vulnerable Scavenger Units. Where they encounter Null Space entities, massed fire from their energy weapons quickly disintegrates the opposition. The route they choose isn't the most direct one; instead, it is the route that's best-supported by functioning turrets, which the Locusts come to the assistance of on more than one occasion. Before too long, they reach the Generator Control Room. As you'd previously observed, it's swarming with hostile creatures, so before sending in any Locusts, Legion Control sends in a half-dozen grenades. This has devastating effects on the room's occupants, and the survivors are quickly dispatched. Damage to the generator itself... was probably much less than the Null Space entities did? The Omen Units quickly form a perimeter, while the Scavenger Units swarm in and get to work.

[X][POWR] STANDBY EMERGENCY POWER
[X][FACT] STANDBY LOCUST FACTORY
[X][ARAY] STANDBY RETRIBUTION ARRAY
[X][ARAY] STANDBY RETRIBUTION ARRAY (2X)

[X][PERS] SIM TO CONTACT ADCU
-[X] DIMENSIONAL SIPHON

We really need to fix the generator as soon as possible.

Edit also I'm leaving anti magic field on since we're in the warp and Turing off your Gellar field in the warp is generally a bad idea.

Before deciding to deactivate the internal defenses, do we know if all the Null Space entities were destroyed? The impression I got was that everything in the generator room and on the way was, but not necessarily through the entire ship. It might be a good idea to keep those up another round.

That's what I was Thinking when I decided to leave the antimagic field on since legion did say null creatures are negatively affected by it, and it would help the unequipped locasts to move around the ship more easily.
