I know it's not from Alexander. I'm saying it's what Alexander would have caused if he fully activated (at a world wide scale, as you said). I specifically said "not caused by primals" in my post. The Burn was Allagans draing a region of aether so it stands to reason that a primal draining a region of aether would have the same end result. You're agreeing with me just with more details.Nope, the Burn is from the aether flow being diverted by a device as part of the Azys La launch, this was in the post SB msq and it is noted with the device shifted that the burn should become inhabitable given time. So not alexander, which is another primal. Granted we did learn that alexander would eventually drain the world of all its aether like all the summonings be a problem. But not the cause of the Burn- Solus claimed that is what caused the Burn but did so to justify the expansion against countries that had primals occurring which might be causing the confusion.
The issue is you said something like Alexander getting loose- Alexander is a primal which drains Aether. What happened is Aether was instead diverted away by technology to use elsewhere, the results are the same in terms of if primal takes the aether or technology changes the flow of aether but the cause is very different and not primal related at all.I know it's not from Alexander. I think - and this is more a general statement than about this vote specifically - that treating gameplay roles as indicative of in-story needs and abilities is probably a mistake. A "tank" is a character whose abilities focus on aggro pull and damage mitigation, with invulnerability buttons and relatively low damage compared to DPS. But a Marauder is a front-line skirmisher whose role is to board enemy ship and wreck everything in sight to open the path for everyone else; a Warrior is a force of destruction that must learn to control and unleash their 'inner beast' to wield destructive power wielding heavy weapon; a Dark Knight is a lone wolf vigilante that stalks the night looking for injustice to punish with offensive magic and heavy blows of their giant fucking sword; and Gunbreakers, while ostensibly a royal guard, historically had as their chief military role attacking and disabling artillery positions.[X] Negotiate.
Punching sounds very satisfying, but also very dumb and could hurt our future prospects quite a fair but. Let's play more carefully. We're a tank role and that means we need stability and control, not to be the kinda person who lashes out or runs ahead and breaks the group's formation.
A tanky type who can't weather the hits and find their moment is doing it wrong. Stability and control are the things we need to be halfway decent at being more than just a meatshield.
I like how you put this. As a mercenary, getting shorted and then walking away from it isn't a good look.Ul'Dah is a city where you need money and a reputation. Money alone will only last for as long as you have coin to beat down your rivals, but a reputation will prevent people from taking their shot until they are certain it will hit.
We might not have the money yet, but we can start building the second. Hopefully we can find a more reliable money source next time.

Tanks that aren't Gladiator/Paladin, within the narrative of FF14, are mostly about explosive power, tremendous strength and endurance, and generally standing as heroic figure at the center of a chaos of violence and destruction. Myrmidons probably lean more towards the Paladin end of the spectrum owing to their shield use and formation fighting, but generally I would try not to focus overmuch on translating gameplay tropes to narrative clues, whether that be for Tanks, DPS or Healers.
