All That Counts is interesting, but I think that it's too similar to Progenitor. Amelia's zealous overprotectiveness towards her adopted family seems like it would be a better basis for 'protect my unpowered loved one.' I do like a lot of the other options, but I would like to see the Nemesis power straight and having to work through the trigger trauma implications.

Not how that works. The mental health issues attached to the alt-powers are transformative, not additive.
Basically, since powers in Worm are connected to triggers, which are connected to trauma and how the host contextualizes that trauma, each new alt power I'm offering also comes with an alt trigger. An alt trigger that re-contextualizes their issues into a different form.
Using Taylor as an example, her master power was born of a trigger revolving around, as I understand it, loneliness and isolation. It was magnified to such a degree that she was borderline suicidal at the start of Worm and incredibly desperate for any kind of friends or, hell, just positive social engagment she could find.
However, if you pick:
Security: All the pain Taylor has gone through in life has made her paranoid about about what new torment will be lurking around the corner, and about what it'll take from her next. She's already lost her mom, her best friend, her (relationship with) her father, and more. Instead of problems with loneliness and isolation she has a problem with paranoia.
Upgrade: All of Taylor's relationships have broken down over the years, and she could never understand why. Why did their family fall apart? Why did Emma betray her? Why won't the school do anything about it? Why is the city dying? Her trigger was born of an obsessive desire to know how to fix it all, and as a result she has an obsessive compulsion to try and "improve" on "faulty" social structures.
Mirage: Taylor's body image issues have taken the forefront. The bullying has ruined her self-esteem and her distant father has done no favors. As her trigger, in the Locker Taylor just wanted to disappear. Now Taylor has an issue with actually wanting to be Taylor as opposed to the Swarm.
None of these things, canon included, are particularly better or worse with regards to mental health compared to each other. It's all give and take, and it's all based on what you want to manage/explore in the quest.
Dammit, knew I missed one.
Though the "Keeping precious people safe" thing isn't appreciably different from "Protecting your loved ones"
Anyways, looking at the vote I have to admit I'm pretty surprised. Here's what it all comes out to for now, though for the sake of my own sanity I'm only including plans with more than one vote:

Most people seem to be dog piling on And All That Counts, Is Here And Now, which is surprising given it doesn't have any of the alt-powers and there were a shit ton of plans that did have all sorts of combos of alt powers. Hell, I was expecting voting to be a mess of 8 different plans all vying for top spot.
Oh well, either way I'm happy this quest is getting any attention at all.

Yes. Hadn't really given it much thought before since I didn't think it'd be relevant, but given how things have shaken out I'll let you pick up to three plans.
It's a bit late for it, and I might extend voting, but I'm not in much of a rush. Though I'm probably going to regret doing this when I wake up later, but whatever.
Also, I'm going to note that you guys seem like you're trying to make a three-way tie for second place, which is kind of hilarious.

In any case, here are some notes to keep in mind in these last twelve hours if you decide to do any voting or such.
First, you can vote for UP TO THREE PLANS.
Second, if you're worry about an alt power adding more issues to a character, the alt-trigger issues connected to each alt-power are TRANSFORMATIVE NOT ADDITIVE.
Third, should All That Counts win I will be doing a secondary vote to be sure that everyone is voting for the AU they actually want since there's been some confusion there.
That vote won't really affect the next chapter much, however, so I'll probably be posting it either tomorrow or Wednesday. Hell, technically this vote doesn't even affect the next chapter too much beyond the perspective, and it's a pretty clear landslide in favor of Amy POV. Which means it's time for good old Vanilla SkitterPan, since that's...pretty much the only thing the vote was really about at the end. All the top plans were basically the same save for powers, and ya'll have made it clear you just want canon powers.
Fortunately, that's also setup I had in mind when I originally conceived of this fic idea, I just thought I'd throw up some alt-powers I'd been tossing around for a while to see if you were interested.
In any case, you may note another comment at the bottom of @Chimeraguard 's post about the AU. There was a slight mix-up there, which is basically because I forgot to update their plan after they changed it following my explanation of the World options. So my bad on that one.
However, it now means that there is something of a question of which AU you'll be using.
Frankly? I doubt this'll be much of a question, really. Given how many people were on board for the Minor AU I doubt anyone will be leaping towards the Major AU. Still, here it is:

- Other butterflies to be revealed as a result, but overall mostly worm canon save a couple things
- Changes may include alt-EBs

- Basically the AU from my fic Progenitor, but tweaked for obvious reasons
- Namely that Amy isn't Taylor's adopted older sister here
- Contains heavy widespread changes all over the place, including:
- Taylor is a 2nd gen cape
- Most of Canada has been hit by Nilbog 2: Electric Boogaloo
- Hero is still alive and killing EBs and fighting Nilbog 2
- Which means alt EB's are definitely present
- Not necessarily a great pick for a light-hearted story
