[X] Definitely not. This has to end now, before Adam has a chance to cause more damage or gather even more power. Attack him immediately.

At the very minimum we will learn about Adam new abilities, and if we really lucky will find some way to tap into Artifact powers, now that we can feel them. If we fail to stop Adam and he massacres Initiative as result I would not be too sad either.

If we go with him i kind of doubt that Buffy would manage to stay calm and do nothing when he start to kill soldiers, so alliance thingy is almost impossible to achive.

[X] Probably not. But she isn't sure she can win this fight right now, and she's willing to play along for a while with an attack on the Initiative.

He isn't trustworthy, but he isn't lying either. I believe we'll have a better shot at taking him down by surprise. Of course he'll be trying the same thing.

More importantly, he's right. One of these days we'll fail to stop an apocalypse, and our choice is between an uncontrolled fall — the destruction of all human civilisation — and something more of a soft landing. The masquerade has served its purpose. As damaging as it'll be, it's time to break it.

I don't believe Buffy can be convinced of that in a hurry, but this is a good first step.

Oh this is fucking hilarious. This whole quest has had Buffy making more and more moral compromises: she's blackmailed politicians into compliance, overthrown a foreign government, taken bribes from Wolfram and Hart, invaded everyone's privacy with her pet AI, delved into demonic rituals, and more. Now it all comes to a head and she's actually being offered a chance to become Dark Lord Buffy. My head says that this is a bad idea, but my heart really wants Buffy to go all the way.

I would actually prefer a write that can give a more favorable responsible to the Buffy-Adam alliance but it seems like that could end up splitting the vote and prevent any future cooperation.

Is this a good idea? Probably not. But it is by far the most interesting choice and it fits the themes of the quest. Making moral compromises in the face of ever increasing problems. I really want to see where this could go.

Besides, I don't think he is lying. He has ulterior motives for days but he will probably stick to the deal. Cooperating with demons and former enemies for the greater good, turning them to her cause, is what Buffy does these days.

Also I want to see the look on the initiatives faces when they find out their superweapon betrayed them.

Do it. It's not like we have to vote for one thing exclusively. You could make the stunt as a sub vote too, no?

If Adam had approached us before this point, I might have been in favour of bringing him into our organization, but he waited until now. He's tried to take over the artifact, failed to do so completely, and doesn't have a counter to Buffy the same way that he had a counter to Wilkins. Yet. We've just seen that he can modify himself (without Wilkins noticing) to eliminate the threat someone connected to him poses. Buffy is connected to him through the artifact now.

hahaha no, his domain is literally called corrupt, there isn't a chance in all the world that working with him ever means an equitable compromise with us. It's possible that apotheosis has given him a change of heart, but I simply do not buy that this is an offer in earnest. Working with Wilkins was preferable by far.

I know people want to lean in to 'Dark Lord Buffy', but I think we should really slow our roll there. We can make morally questionable decisions without him. Adam is also incredibly dangerous and only gets more so the longer we give him (plus the whole fact that he's connected to our domain and has Corrupt and all). Now is the best time to take him out. Also, I think Buffy would be utterly horrified to see the plans he has for the Initiative - she may not like Maggie, but a lot of people there are good soldiers, just trying to do their best. They don't deserve the base burning down around them while demons eat their face off stuff that Adam would do.

Sorry, might have made that deal with Wilkins, but not with Adam.

Let's play this dart and kill Buffy's enemies .

Dark Lord Buffy's interesting and shiny, but not really Buffyesque even in this fic.

It is slightly tempting to see where such an alliance could lead, but ultimately I don't think it would end well. Plus, while it's been fun to see Buffy being forced into making the compromises she has, and developing a much less black and white view of morality, I don't actually want her to become an outright villain.

Do you think Buffy could monopolize the source of power again if she manages to kill Adam?
Then again, it might be shared with CyberWillow in time. Especially since her domain is Weave, and manipulating the runes around the source would be her game.

I don't think a temporary truce would lead to outright villainy -- it's just a pragmatic call of "I am not in good shape right now, and there's more hostiles out there than just Adam". Maybe we could take him (maybe) but we'd likely be in real bad shape by the end of that -- easy pickings for enemies, like for instance, a rogue Slayer. Yes, taking the deal means he can rest and recover too, but I honestly am unconvinced we can take him in our current condition, alone.

I am pretty sure we can't, but I think we don't die either and I think it's a better narrative. I'm kind of hoping we can't take him right now, actually, since Adam killing off the initiative makes things cleaner. The attack on the initiative sounds like a joint effort though, not just backing off.

Don't give peace a chance.
