I think this is fine. Is there anything else we should consider? Disease, humanitarian reasons, or raids?

Oooh I love the Renaissance. Great idea for a quest.

I'd like to see if we can avoid Venice's collapse during the League of Cambrai. Historically they managed to recoup most of their losses except the Romagna and IIRC Trieste, but at the very least Bologna properly belongs to us, not the stupid Pope. Taking over Milan would be a wonderful prize, but will be tough; the Romagna will be better, since it only requires going up against the Papacy by default, whereas setting our sights on Milan means going up against France and Spain.

Well if we want to have any chance of gaining land we will need either some powerful friends or a reputation impressive enough to seize lands.

Indeed. Any big money plays will have to wait until much later, we're a six piece Chicken McNobody at the moment, with two columns of pikes and one crossbow regiment. Getting off the ground is the big ticket item at the moment.

Pope Julius will probably be our biggest enemy assuming we want to carve out territory in Emilia (Bologna for instance). Dude was a fairly militant pope in every sense of the word.

Not really, we are helping him complete one of his goals which is the expulsion of the Borgias from Italy, so he shouldn't be I'll dispose towards us.

And unless we really want land that resides within the Papal States we shouldn't have any problems. He will eventually seek to drive the French out of Italy and replace them with Italian lords and families. If by then we are of sufficient renown and connections. We might get a slice of the pie.

Hey @KlinkerKing how/where do we recruit more units/baggage trains? And how much would they cost. The info post has cost for each unit, is that the cost for recruitment?
You can pick up baggage trains in any city, including Milan. The cost of recruitment is three times their fortnightly pay (in coin only), so you're looking at 45 coins. I'll edit the post to reflect that.

Actual fighting units are more of an opportunity that will present itself as we go through the quest.

With the updated supply table we can carry a maximum of 1560 units of supplies, so we're going to have to buy some along the way.
How much food can we buy along the way?
So long as you're on the march, you can purchase food along the way (or just take it, if you don't mind stepping on some toes) but it's not guaranteed to be available. After all, you aren't the only band of mercenaries walking about at this point in time.

I think this is fine. Is there anything else we should consider? Disease, humanitarian reasons, or raids?
All of these are in fact things that could happen on the march but disease tends to be a bigger problem while encamped and Cesare Borgia probably doesn't even know about you yet, so you consider an enemy raid unlikely for now.

[X] Arms stockpile
-[X] Accept the Contract (Gain 6090 Coin)
-[X] Hire a Baggage Train (45 Coins)
-[X] Buy 976 Arms

This has us set off with 3 weeks worth of food and support, with us purchasing some amount on the way. Since arms are sold at less places and Urbino is unlikely to sell them to us before we take the city, I want us bringing along as much arms from Milan as we can which is just over 7 and a half weeks worth.

Adding the purchase of 2 baggage train because why not. We could use the space and in the future if we got some more units we are already have some extra space.

Edit- Added baggage train to the purchase after information from QM.

I would just like to point out that we will have to purchase a baggage train if the current leading vote wins. Not sure if we'll automatically do so if we buy stuff over capacity but something to keep in mind.

Yeah that's why I asked the baggage train question and amended my vote so that we purchase one.

I highly recommend to everybody that voted to include the purchase of a baggage train or we will have some angry soldiers lol. Imagine soldiers having to carry 3 piles each, cooking pans, and food because we don't have enough baggage trains.

You're on -579 capacity on the current winning plan.

So we have to buy 2 Baggae trains instead of 1. You should poribbaly threadmark the post so that voters can see and amend their vote accordingly. Don't want us to buy all this stuff and then be unable to transport it.

Btw what is the difference between capacity and effective capacity?

Effective capacity is Capacity minus Consumption (i.e. each unit of 500 Pike consumes 120 units, and carries 100, meaning they have -20)
