    Hello, it's me again. Back from my absence with a new quest. Hopefully, this one sticks.

    Anyway, the choices for the character creation are relatively equal even the resources one. Basically, your character has psionic power which is one of the criteria for choosing a host for the "system". Psionic power to the uninitiated has all the hallmark of mental illness.* Thankfully, anti-depressants and the like act as a low-tech version of psionic blockers. Unfortunately, continuous use of psionic blockers to those who aren't trained weakens psionics. So, the poverty-stricken template gets a more powerful psionic base while the middle-income template gets more wealth resources to draw from but weaker psionic at the start.

    AS for the last choice, it's to help me write the personality of the main character.

    *Coincidentally, mental illness and depression are on the rise right now. Just an observation.

    What does the parameter mean:
    • Fitness - the ability to meet the demands of the environment (Psy-Enhancement )
    • Memory - the ability to store and recall information. (Psychometry)
    • Analysis - the ability to understand something. (Precognition)
    • Perception - the ability to see, hear or become aware of something (Clairvoyance)
    • Creativity - the ability to apply something. (Psychokinesis)
    • Multi-Tasking - the ability to do a different activity at once (Astral Projection)
    • Psionics – the ability to control mental energy (Parent disciple of all others)
    Note parameters don't increase with XP. They can only be increased by character development or after major arcs of the quest since changing any of them except for fitness should have some effect on our protagonist's thought process. Well, except for fitness and psionics which is why its the easiest parameter to increase. Most of the time, I'll use the narrative instead of mechanic. But for edge cases, I'll use dice to resolve the issue.

    XP earned in the game goes to psionic abilities which you'll probably unlock next update and subject knowledge mastery mostly.

    The quest starts in the year 2020s. But, for some reason, COVID didn't happen.

    In case, SV decides to take over a country in the future. The quest starts at the fictional country of Farasia which is considered a third-world country located in the east of the Philippines and south of Japan. Yes, there is now a landmass there. Some Alt-History happens and Guam is also part of its territory.

    For Science, due to the existence of psionics some technology is more advanced than others while others took a step backward. For example Paranormal science is considered a respectable field. There are other butterfly effects but it's more or less like the real world.

    lack of wealth is but a minor issue when you have psionics (psycology,mind reading,doing ''divination'' bullshit for superstitious people etc)

    As repeated countless times psionics allows wealth to be more accessible then initial wealth. Seeing as how we do not actually have an income and we are relying on our family's. Not only because of psionics, but because of media's love for rags to riches stories and our ability to capitalize on it.

    Anthony Blanco stared at the words that materialized out of thin air. But his shock only lasted for a moment. For you see, Anthony was an avid reader of web novels and there was a genre that took it by storm like cancer for the past few years.

    Isn't this the legendary system? But wait I haven't been isekai right?

    Racking his brain, no past life knowledge or vision presented itself.

    Negative. No psychic imprint is detected on the prospective inheritor and the species known as humans lack the vehicle to pass ancestral memories.

    Seeing the words change in response to his thoughts, Anthony was sure! This really was the legendary system!.

    Brief scan from memory fragment shows the unit has a high fidelity for what the inheritor call a "System". Adopting local terminology for greater communication.

    It's really happening!

    Anthony had a mental jiggle when something caught his attention.

    Wait. Other species can reincarnate?

    Positive. Many species have the natural ability to possess other bodies. Any species who can master Psionics can also learn said ability.

    So, body snatchers are a thing. Good to know.

    But before he can pursue that train of thought. The words bled red, and the voice became more urgent.

    Warning. Energy level of the System falling dangerously low.

    Are you willing to undergo the test and inherit their will?

    Of course. Anthony mentally shouted. Is this even a question? This was Anthony's ticket to changing his life and family.

    He still vividly remembers watching over his Dad as he convulsed from his disease. Job recruiters turning him away because of his condition.

    No matter what happens he had to grab this.

    "I am willing!"

    And then, Anthony saw stars.

    When Anthony woke up. His whole body ached as if someone repeatedly stomped on him and ground his bones for a good measure.

    "Uggh… what the hell?"

    "Greetings Host! Partial binding was successful."

    After that, a small box popped into his vision.

    Rank E meant an organism has the capacity of psionics in the given attribute but hasn't learned to enhance it yet.
    Rank D meant the organisms can now use psionics to enhance the given attribute.

    … Which tells Anthony absolutely nothing. Realistically, doesn't everybody on Earth fell on Rank E, then? Unless … there are secret psionic cabals that he doesn't know of? He was sure that scientists were still busy trying to document its existence.

    Below that there was even a helpful definition of what each parameter does and what branch of psionics it is related to.

    Nice. Anthony thought. Say System how do I compare with others?

    From the planetary scan that the system did before arriving at the atmosphere. An average human organism could be said to have 2 dots of parameters in each attribute.

    So, I'm more creative but also less analytical than average. More than that I'm awesome at psionics! Does that mean I can learn all those branches?

    The system has instruction manuals for psionics powers. With the partial binding of the system, Host can use psionic power of the main disciples using psychic imprint and learn more efficiently.

    Anthony was tempted to do a mental jig at this point.

    At Host level, using psychic imprint would use all available psychic power that isn't tied to the system. Regeneration of psychic powers would take approximately 15 Earth days.

    That is good enough. Anthony believed. After all, he came from not having psychic powers to being able to do some without any work. Besides, with all those psychic manuals, it is probably a good bet that he can improve those psychic powers in time.

    Affirmative, Host!

    Still, I have enough of the stat function. What is your other function system? Can I get that manual as well?

    Apologize Host! But other functions are temporarily unavailable due to the partial binding.

    At that, Anthony's mental euphoria was stopped cold.

    Partial binding?

    Binding was stopped halfway as it was determined to be causing undue damage. To complete the process the host was found to be not have sufficient nutrients in the body to sustain complete neurogenesis to support the system.

    Host can either use psychic overdraft to force the neurogenesis or intake sufficient nutrients for a period of time to slowly bind the system.

    Psychic overdraft? Anthony frowned at the unknown word which the system helpfully used to expound.

    Psychic overdraft is the technical term for when a psionic master forcefully use psionic powers beyond the limit. In the host case, the system will consume all the psychic powers to imprint itself on the host. Note this method has a chance of lowering Host overall psionic powers.

    Lowering his overall psionic powers? Anthony doesn't like the sound of that. From his stat window, it looks like psionics powers were his main advantage. Besides, isn't it just a lack of nutrition? Eating more should fix that! Am I right, system?

    He now has a system, albeit lacking some function, he refused to believe he can't make money with that advantage! Right?

    So what powers are you going to use to make money with? Note that due to being untrained you can barely control your powers. Thus, using a single one will consume all your psychic reserve which would regenerate in 15 days.

    [ ] Fitness – Temporary boosting immune system. Increase physical capabilities.

    [ ] Memory – know what happened a day before accessing the memory of the object. Know everything obvious about an object at the present.

    [ ] Analysis – boost the mind's analysis capability for a while. Look a few minutes in the future in the local area.

    [ ] Perception – heighten any of the five senses temporarily. Look a few minutes somewhere remotely.

    [ ] Creativity – be able to remotely move a light object. Has a chance to change the object's appearance.

    [ ] Multi-Tasking – be able to boost the brain functions to handle several thoughts at once. Project oneself into a remote are for a few minutes.

    [ ] Write in – After voting for an option. You can write in how you want said option to be used. Example using fitness to do faith healing, memory to look at scratch cards, analysis to cheat at the casino, perception to look at a gambler's cards, creativity to make fake gold and multi-tasking to do hypnosis. The more specific the better.


    Also, I'm going to introduce your family in the next update. Please check what option do you want:

    The perfect start-point for any protagonist. One of your parents is dead that's why they can't provide for you.

    Your deadbeat mom or dad depending on what your choice is for the competent parent. Due to some vice ie. drinking, drugs etc. Your first parent can't provide for you. Worse than dead.

    [ ] First Parent – Injury/Disease
    Your mom/dad has an injury or disease that stop them from working. They are usually in the house.

    And now you pick your competent parent:

    [ ] Competent Parent – Dead
    …. Your competent parent is dead. Will probably have a nice family friend/auntie/uncle who occasionally help your family because you probably won't be able to live to adulthood with this set-up.

    Your father is the breadwinner of the family. You can also write in a specific low income job. Otherwise I'll just randomly select one.

    How far away can we remotely see? Is it restricted to sight, or can we hear where we look?

    Currently, the rate of your precognition is at its most basic which is 5 minutes per dot. With one dot, its of course 5 minutes in the future.
    Clairvoyance is restricted by familiarity than distance. At the line of sight, you can freely change perspective.
     
    How does are creativitry stat affect psychokinesis?

    Seeing as how it can change appearance, lottery tickets are actually easier to do then, paper money.

    Yep, almost certainly. I had to give some reason though to try to explain why i was going for the only tree which we have 3 points in, i like your idea better.
