[X] Accept, it will give you a chance to perhaps turn Highgarden from a headache into a asset

Wait, Mace actually thought that we wouldn't consider the Queen's plan an act of war? She's mass mind-controlling our Kingdom!
Well, it's been usurped right now, but we haven't exactly made a secret of the fact we consider it ours.

I wish I could say "and even the Usurper would have reacted like that", but she's a beautiful Fey so who knows.
And while Viserys also tends to be uncommonly nice to beautiful women, it doesn't quite work the same was as when Robert does it ;)

Viserys flirts unintentionally, Robert flirts on purpose?

[X] Crake
Turning enemies into allies is how Viserys has been operating the whole quest, we can't shouldn't let spite get in the way of that.
No matter how much some of them deserve it.

Viserys goes for young girls. Generally preteens, actually. He finds them, sweet-talks them, promises them the world, showers them with gifts... And then grooms them into his creatures.

On the other hand, once he starts fighting he's a lot less likely to suddenly stop when faced with bedroom eyes.

Viserys has always been Batman for me. If he finds anyone other than Lya uncommonly attractive I start planning to kill them. Clearly they're about to stab us in the back.

It would be spoilers to get too deep into this, but keeping to the stuff you guys could divine, it seems as though the Tyrells are trying to leverage the last moments of full control of the reach to make common cause with the fey in negotiating integration into the empire.
That sounds... remarkably stupid. Tying their fates together with the Fey when Imperial forces are prepared to besiege the remaining courts? Well that and us about to invade in force and we are strategically incentivized to attack them as traitors.

I wonder what do they try to negotiate?

Our terms are pretty much the same for everybody. Our rules don't get broken.

Kind of, yeah. It doesn't seem wise. The smartest thing to do would have been to keep their heads down since we were already going to let them keep Highgarden.

If they overreach here, they might not even keep their seat.

Armed to the teeth with the best weapon/creature/art/body they can bear with and then puts them to work! The deviant!

He'll stop and attempts to do economics when you assault him with stacks of business ledgers. Truly, the perversion of this fiend!

@Duesal, @Azurath: The Tyrells probably don't want to turn into weak lords who only keep their seat because we say so. It's always been in the interests of Lords to have an independent power-base. This sort of strategy is perfectly sensible, as long as they don't intend to try to leverage the Fey against us.
But once they've been conquered, being able to call on Fey help in case of magical issues is a huge advantage when negotiating salary with whatever Scholarum graduates who would normally handle that sort of task in our lands.
And obviously in the long term, there can be many uses to having magic-users that we didn't train, access to Lore and training through another route that other Lords don't have... And many of these possible uses aren't even treasonous!

And maybe they expect us to conquer those Fey real fast (or at least for long-term peace). In such a scenario, this is just a closer relationship between some of our vassals. When the Boltons and the Freys do it, we like it IC!

The problem as I see it, is that the Tyrells are being to independent minded. Bolton and Frey both knew where they stood if push cane to shove, our boot on their neck. So during negotiations they recognized said position and laid their cards on the table accordingly. And here's the important part, they didn't try and wriggle out of the deal afterwords. We can deal with ambitious lords and ladies, but not ambitious fools who think themselves above promises already made.

Consider that 'common grounds in negotiations' can mean: 'we can help you get this fey court sworn in'. That is worth a lot if they can pull it off.

Really? Because this seams like a vassal doing some double dealing with foreign polities that we are still at war with. That sets a poor precedent that I sincerely hope Viserys would pounce upon.

That's all patently untrue. All lore gets submitted to the archives once fealty is pledged/a realm is annexed. It's in our fucking charter.

There is no "lore that other Lords don't have access to" in our Realm, because everything is useful, therefore everything is utilized by our system. That's an innate advantage compared to various cabals hoarding their own shit.
