We Are the Gods of a New World Order [Warhammer 50K ~ Warp God Simulator]

PARTICIPANT: Prince Sendai
Initial Standing Point: -3 (Aversion), -2 (Assisted Boarding the Star Galleon) Final Standing: -5 (!)
Why does Aversion provide a serious malus to our diplomatic balance here?

As I understand it, Diplomatic balance represents how equitable both sides think an interaction are. A malus for us means that we think we owe an obligation, whilst the other side thinks they are owed a debt. I don't see how either of those matches with aversion. If we don't like the Sendai, you'd think we feel we owe them LESS, not more. Conversely, unless the Sendai KNOW that we don't like them (and I don't see why they should), I don't see why they would think we owe them more, either.

TL;DR: VM is bad at dealing with things she finds icky and most of these efforts are attempts to keep her as far away from this as possible so she doesn't fuck everything up at the last moment and possibly do something reckless to make the problem go away.

Frankly I feel that it's kinda pointless to not integrate the Azure Dragoons. The Imperium has universally reinterpreted our actions in a negative light and I'd expect them to think that after spending enough time to give us [Segmentum Information + Instructors] they are a mobile aspect of our cult.
There's going to be lot's of friction since they killed lots of our people at first and they think think they'd be basically joining what they've been indoctrinated their entire lives fighting agains't no matter how you slice it, yes they came to us for help but they've been pushed to the brink of annihilation for that to happen in the first place.
Like this is them being backed into a corner and us press-ganging them to joining us from a sizable amount of their perspective.
To some it is quite literally a deal with the devil.

A point to consoder. Aren't you guys forgetting that next arc is the C'tan paying us a visit?

The way I figure Embassy will allow Necrontyr to have their own reaction to that.

I don't think I understand.

All the positive points under the Sendai vote involve interacting with them. How does requiring MORE interaction to balance the scales equate to attempts to keep VM away from the them?

Like, I get the Doylist reason for the malus (our character don't like them, so the players have to give up more to make the relationship work), but I'm not seeing how that that translates into an in-world explanation.

Unless VM is somehow actively broadcasting her dislike, and the Sendai KNOW that our god doesn't want them around? In that case I can see them needing an excessive contribution from our cult to convince them to have further interactions.
Is this actually the case? Because if so, it would color my understanding of what a negative score for the Sendai means. It would be them thinking they aren't wanted, rather than them thinking they were cheated in a deal.

The issue might be that she has great difficulty trying to hide her dislike, or doesn't even try, meaning her being involved risks a big incident, and the fact she is being kept away from the negotiations despite being pretty much the leader was probably noticed.....

Consider this, Negotiations are taking place inside the World Tree, which was partially made to act as a Avatar for the VM. I would imagine the Tree itself would subtly react to the VMs distaste and eventually Sendai would pick up on that.

There's a bit of that, yeah, especially since they're being housed in a place that's essentially the VM's physical avatar in the world at large, and her dislike bleeds over a bit. GIving enough to offer (And giving VM an excuse to dig her head in the sand) helps overcome that uncomfortable sense of foreboding.

Hmm. Okay, I can see how being housed in a place putting off the bad kind of haunted-mansion vibes, while your host never deigns to meet with you, would be worth a malus.

I still don't think a -3 for it is ideal; that is the sort of malus I'd expect if THEY were the ones who thought WE were an abomination, not the other way around. Compare the Dragoons' mere -2 for us being a Heretical Cult. But eh, probably too late to change anyways.

Vote Shaded Valley for Embassy. Get the Embassy and when the Nightbringer shows up we'll be able to signal for a Horde of Necrontyr C'tan trainers to come and get a Rare C'tan for their teams!

The Embassy is also a good move for opening the door to fix their bodies and live longer which they've been looking for millennia to correct, we'd both be satisfied with having a diplomatic place for them to come and if were lucky we'd be able to influence them in matter's as well.

Man, we'll have our work cut out for us, next turn.
Hopefully we'll have enough resources to actually do all that.

The embassy costs 2 actions permanently, not to actions next turn, not two actions for the next five turns, two actions forever. I am struggling to even encapsulate how steep that price, not to mention the risk of Danna coming to harm somehow while playing necrontyr minder and then we are all up the proverbial creek without a paddle.

Aw, man, literally all the options go for a total of -1 with the Azure Magus. I am disapoint.

That is the equivalent of losing 2 tokens, when we have a whole lot of other heroes too.

Also, would you quit panicking? Dana is not in any danger from it.
