You know guys, assimilate or combat, I think we can all learn a very important lesson from this: we should build more outrigger boats

It was more of an in-group reference to a rather salty argument on one of the biggest and most famous quests on this site.
This also explains why the vote to do 1000 things at once is now winning by a landslide.I kind of want to imagine that the thread's Crush/Assimilate split is also being represented in Doof's own thought process.
"Let's see ... onto the matter of Doofania's criminal element ... do I want to crush the crime to smithereens ... or do I want to BE THE CRIME?!"
dramatic thunder, courtesy of the Dramatic-Weather-Inator
"...I think what I want is some deviled eggs. I-I'll come back to the crime thing in the morning. Anyone know if we have any mayo left over from yesterday's casserole?"
The plan that you voted for has combating the crime instead of assimilating it.
Hey. I remember you asking others to drop the condescending tone. Some of use wanted to turn what crime remains into an asset/ablative shield, and; y'know, not leave a vacuum for one of the nastier pieces of work from out of town to sleaze their way into.
Other people seem to think that we just have to crush crime once and it's gone forever. And morality.
And then the winning vote with Assimilate got peer-pressured into flipping into "crush" crime instead; so I said f**k it and made my own entry.
While I applaud your firm action since it was a rather toxic comment that you slapped down, I do believe Tempest and those who desperately supported Assimilate deserve empathy and an open ear in future votes. I have been in their position of going against SV's morality voters many times, and it's not fun. It very easily builds resentment, especially when you are SO close to winning a contested vote only for a deus ex machina for the opposing side to snatch your eminent victory at the last minutes of the vote.Hey. I remember you asking others to drop the condescending tone.
How about you follow your own Advice?
Yeah. If we assimilate crime, that's one or more people we'll need to placate for the rest of the quest. We'll need to make them strong enough to control the criminals under them, while not making them too strong to the point where they may be convinced to betray us.[X]Plan: Let's Maximize Our Results:
I think those who are favoring assimilation are far overestimating our ability to control crime. While we can't guarantee it is removed forever, I'd rather leave it as difficult as possible. We have to many other projects we want to pursue (research, Doom, magic) to add the sort of action tax we'd need for this.
To be fair they were harassed by OWCA and Khan for about half an year before been concerned by the newcomers.who had the strength covertly crushed out of them by Lizzy and Stanley.
Eh. For me it isn't so much a morality vote as a "if I were a stereotypical mad scientist, would I want to suborn these slinking 'rivals' or crush them?"
I get why Doof would assimilate OWCA- they're a respected opponent who has foiled him in the past.
But the organized crime remaining in his territory? A bunch of chumps without what it takes to stay in the game, who had the strength covertly crushed out of them by Lizzy and Stanley.
Not worth a true evil overlord's time.
Not just some criminal chumps.I can't help but fell you are just working backwards from you conclusion to try and justify yourself actualy.
Because we keep L.O.V.E.M.U.F.F.I.N. around, the guys literaly described as a colection of chumps who couldn't ever hope to stay in the game.
Obejectily from the beggining Doof would get the chumps and put them to work, that is just a fact.
Seriously they are literaly bargain bin rejects one and all, if anything the fact they managed to get things done says a lot of what the criminal underworld could do for us if we assimilated them. Not just some criminal chumps.
Science chumps that were on Doof's level before and were able to revive Genghis Khan.
Hmm, you think if we assimilate criminals instead, we could give each member of LOVEMUFFIN one of the criminals as an assisstant/intern?Seriously they are literaly bargain bin rejects one and all, if anything the fact they managed to get things done says a lot of what the criminal underworld could do for us if we assimilated them.
And I'm willing to lend them an open Ear in the Future. While I applaud your firm action since it was a rather toxic comment that you slapped down, I do believe Tempest and those who desperately supported Assimilate deserve empathy and an open ear in future votes. Some salt is warranted in this situation and, though I will not change my vote, I can only say sorry.
More likely we would get another unit like them, but leaning more martial/intrigue.Hmm, you think if we assimilate criminals instead, we could give each member of LOVEMUFFIN one of the criminals as an assisstant/intern?
That could perhaps increase their stats and effectiveness.
