So I just had an idea. Next turn we should have Goofy look for Donald and Mickey. Not only would they be good potential hero units but Donald might just let us find Scrooge. Scrooge is probably one of the greatest hero units just floating around we can find. Sure it would earn us Glomgold's eternal ire but who cares about that Duck when we can just make a Gold-to-Leadinator and aim it at him. And the lore document on Glomgold even says "his now-destitute rival" meaning Scrooge is still alive if the QM didn't change anything there.

Edit: Hell that could even be our recruiting pitch. "I'll help you get back at him if you help me"

Glomgolds end game was to become the richest duck alive and to kill Scrooge. I'm sure Goofy could eventually find Mickey and Donald but there's a large chance he's straight up dead.

@Nystical I like the plan but could I maybe suggest having Goofy work on them OWCA action instead? I get why having him meet with Max would be good but that way OWCA has a high chance of success and we could have Doof double down on magic since it has a pretty low chance of succeeding as well

Depends on the Glomgold. Comics Glomgold could be that nasty, and Scrooge could very well be deceased, but there's only one way to find out. I encourage you to explore, and not just because I'm a raging duck fan.

Speaking of Donald and his family has anyone done anything with Della Duck yet?
Della Duck was, until the 2017 Ducktales series, an incredibly minor duck character. Practically a non-character, who was obscure to the point of lacking a visual depiction until much later on in the comics! Since Gridlocked uses said comics and the 87' Ducktales as sources by default, she hasn't really had the chance to shine in any DVV games I'm aware of. I really do like the modern take on Della though, and would be all for her appearing with an otherwise old-school iteration on the duck characters.

I love this plan, cuz it starts to put doof on the path to diet evil.mainly it fits his personality to oddly friendly to heroes and villains.

Upgrade Norm Prime

Bare Failure
At first, upgrading Norm seemed to go swimmingly. It was a simple matter of replacing the parts you had jury-rigged out of your old leftover inators into something custom-designed and far more efficient… and then you noticed what L.O.V.E.M.U.F.F.I.N. was doing. There is no way you are letting yourself get upstaged by those guys, so you resolved to add a few extra features… and then a few more. The result is, it's going to take a bit longer to get Norm ready. (DC for upgrading Norm lowered to 35.)

Spectacular Success
It turned out that Francis was hiding in a secret lair not too far from their old headquarters. He never was the most creative type, so it really should have been more obvious in retrospect. Instead of bothering with a fancy scheme or a diabolical trap, you simply marched your way into his new office with all of the Normbots. Seriously, you had like five hundred of them, way more than enough to match whatever agents were present.

Francis wasn't too pleased to see you. Fortunately he saw sense and told his minions to stand down before things got too chaotic, and signed the Oath of Loyalty, in triplicate, as soon as you presented it to him. You're pretty sure that if looks could kill you'd be turned into a pile of ash, but it is done. OWCA has sworn loyalty to you. You've redistributed their agents in such a way that if they try to rebel they'd have to work uphill for it, and you've even convinced Francis himself to start working for you!

Major Francis Monogram has become a (very unhappy) Hero unit with OWCA support!
OWCA has been defanged for the time being.
Potential story options will change as a result.

Look into magic

Great Success
You figured the first stop for actually looking into magic with any degree of seriousness was to start with what you already know: Drusselsteinian folklore. While researching a list of suspected witches burned at the stake, you came across a surprising discovery! Apparently your own great-great-great-great… (a lot of greats, you get it) uncle was a known warlock! It occurs to you this might be why everyone in Drusselstein habitually spits when they hear your name. No matter! You have tracked your great^65 uncle Malifishmirtz to his ancestral seat of Castle Doofhawk. If there is any place in the world you can find easy information on magic, it seems the answers wait for you in Drusselstein…

Research Greevil Tech

Great Success

It turns out there was apparently a LOT of low hanging fruit in terms of green technology that could be repurposed for your evil needs. Both the general public and the federal government seem surprised and pleased by the design docs you've been putting out, though this is more of an early start than a wind change.
After a period of ideation, our non-mad scientists have come back to you with a plethora of potential practical applications, including power generation, more efficient recycling programs, and perhaps most interestingly of all, a multitude of low-emission high-nutrient food technologies… which can go a long way towards dealing with that whole 'America's breadbasket has become an uninhabitable wasteland' thing.

Public opinion increases slightly! Government opinion increases slightly! Multiple research and stewardship actions unlocked!

(They were literally one point off of a critical success! They failed due to L.O.V.E.M.U.F.F.I.N.'s loyalty malus!)

L.O.V.E.M.U.F.F.I.N. did the impossible. Not the Khan revival part, you could have done that yourself. They managed to achieve an unqualified, incredible success with Khan… only to ruin it at the last minute. You're going to have to take an interest in this yourself.

To be continued in Interlude: The Math of Khan.

That operation with OWCA ended up taking more of your time than you expected, so you were forced to cut your bonding time short. You and Vanessa still were able to spend the night watching Mummy II and III, which ended up being a hilarious romp with famed Toon star Daffy Duck!

Vanessa seemed interested in spending more time with you, possibly even serving your company as an intern… although she's going to need some more convincing. (19/100)

Goofy
Bond with Max

After listening to Dr. D lay out his plans for these next couple months you returned to your janitorial duties. Figuring that it had been a while since you last spent time with Maxie, the two of you decided to take a road trip on your days off. Nothing as spectacular as that cross-country drive, but the trip up to Salt Lake City was nice and relaxing, and you didn't even break down along the way! Sure, Maxie complained about your driving 'being so bad they'd ban it on SPLIT/SECOND', but he's been like that since he was a kid.

Best of all, you were able to bring up the topic of working for Doof as an intern to him! He was kinda hesitant due to Doof's many eccentricities, but it looks like he's seriously starting to think about it. It's gotta be better than his job at the Doofenshmirtz Evil Megamart, you're certain. (31/100)

Inator Roll
Doofenshmirtz has re-invented his Whale Translator-inator! For the next turn, he has the ability to speak fluent Whale! He lives in the Midwest, so this is entirely useless!

Honestly, you guys rolled incredibly mediocrely on the Inator table, so just this once I'm not going to destroy it at the end of the round. You can keep this and put it into storage. Who knows, it might be useful someday.

Let's get those interns!

Max probably has a pretty good diplo score (in addition to his toon durability).

Got a lot of successes out the gate! Woo!

Loving the ACME buyout idea. Their products might not be safe or reliable, but they always show up on time!
