A World of Magic. HP AU Quest

Is Enochian Magic a good idea? We have already started focusing on other things, we could at least expand on them and then focus on new things.

We're going to Hogwarts, which means that we'll learn all the original HP magic there, probably including dark arts, so Riddle's book is out. I don't expect us to be good enough with blades dueling to not kill someone by accident, so that is out for a time too. History is for nerds, so that's out too.

Hey guys,I am going to continue this story, I made so many notes for this world and it feels like a shame to abandon it. Gonna keep writing this, new threadmark tomorrow.

Hogwarts Express
As much as you liked the Harp and the Piano you decided that having a Violin at your hand could be much more practical, from what your tutor told you while Hogwarts offers a musical program after graduation is more of a technical career, she doesn't recommend you to do much this outside from being a hobby but encourages you to look at the Music Club at school, she says with a weird expression how she misses "the good ol' times" but quickly ends the session.

"Before I go Miss Yuki, here are some beginner and mid level sheets for you to practice in your spare time! It was a pleasure teaching you."

Obtained. Violin Sheets Compendium
+20 roll If you try entering the Music Club

"Dad!"

Your dad simple looks up from his newspaper, oh no, you know that face.

"I've told you already Yuki, I am not buying that goddamn Violin, it is 25 Galleons, do you know how much does an average peasant back at the empire makes in a-"

"It's not about that! I promise... I guess I am fine with that substandard violin but-"

"Yuki!" You flinch. "Get to the point."

"Well... I found this incredibly book at the library and it's about summoning Youkai! I want a familiar instead of a standard pet!" He is pinching his nose.

"I sear to Amaterasu..." He looks at you, then he notices the book in your left hand, he is squinting his eyes but suddenly he looks tired again. "Fine, you can keep the book."

"Yay! You are the best, thanks da-"

"But! You need to promise me you will invoke a familiar once you are at Hogwarts and have the supervision of an adult, preferably your conjuration professor."

You smile. "Sure dad!"

He sighs again.

You can summon a familiar at Hogwarts, your dad is sending a letter to the school about the situation.

The day has finally arrived, you are at King Cross, one of the many infrastructures left by the muggle that the Sacrum Empire used at it's fullest, now all of magical Britain was connected by a series of magical trains for those without an apparition license or a floo network, squibs and were-creatures without wand privileges.

It was an important landmark that gave workers, peasants or simply inferior creatures the opportunity to move quickly.

But more importantly, it's were every year all of the Hogwarts students take the famous Hogwarts Express, a tradition that dated almost 200 hundred years, quite new really, but from what you saw it looked amazing, with a crimson red coat of paint.

Hurriedly you say bye to the servant who accompanied you while you move around excited with your belongings, even if they are charmed to be weightless you have a little bit of difficult since you are using a cane for moving around, after your little accident with your dueling class, you think with some distaste. You were finally permitted to walk but you still need this cane for at least one or two more months.

Still, Hogwarts was exciting! And nothing will stop you, a big grin extends from cheek to cheek in your face and your black eyes are glittering with emotions. Beware world! Here comes the greatest Witch of her generation, the one and only Yuki Amachi!

As you bump your fist to the air you notice several people giving you some weird looks. Your face turns red while you try maintaining composure, you look around and you see one of the entrances to the train.

Now, where do you go?

[] Try looking for Evelyn, she is your friend after all.
[] Maybe you could ask around for HMRC Hogwarts Magical Research Club members.
[] You could ask around for Music Club members.
[] Alone, you will read in the journey.
[] The first available compartment you see.

Hogwarts Express Part 2
You go looking for Evelyn, it takes you around 30 minutes in the massive train but you finally found her idly sitting at the train cafeteria, it is a big space filled with chattering students of all ages, professors and staff.

As you get closer her gaze slowly starts drifting towards you, a big smile appears on her face.

"Yuki!"

"Evelyn!"

You pass some more students and you finally stand next to your friend in the cafeteria wagon, the table feels much bigger than it looks from this distance and you notice there is a space over the table were you can put your belongings. "Let me help you."

"Huh" as you look over towards Evelyn you notice she is already lifting your belongings over your head in the racket. "You didn't need to do that"

She smiles at you. "I am only helping a friend"

"I still think is not necessary."

"I am just trying to help Yuki." You sigh, you really feel like you don't need help, but Evelyn is just being nice.

"Ok"

"Glad you can comprehend, you still need to rest from your accident" She says with a smile, as she starts sitting again you notice she was reading The Prophet.

"Anything interesting on the paper?"

"Why, interested?" She holds the paper towards you and you glance at the title on the front page. Tensions on the Maygar State increase, ambassador assassinated!

"My family thinks politics is important." You say, Evelyn sighs at the word politics. "It's such a bore right! Who cares about that kind of stuff if we can become powerful witches."

Evelyn looks at you. "I mean, it's boring but papa says it's really important, I just try to memorize the stuff and that's it, but sometimes is really interesting."

"I guess, I am still more excited at learning magic being honestly." You grin at your friend.

"Me too"

Time goes by in the train while you two chat over the various stuff you have plan for Hogwarts. Suddenly you see bigger houses and more infrastructure by the window instead of the farmland and small towns the train passed earlier thought the journey.

"Wow, Hogsmade is big." You exclaim while looking at all the people in the streets and the buildings at the distance.

"What did you expect, it's called the most important city for academia in the Empire for a reason, not only Hogwarts is located next too it, you also have the Witchcraft Guild and the University." Evelyn says.

"Isn't, well, the university in America?" As you finish that phrase an older student who just passed by answers you before Evelyn can.

"Pffft, the Americans can delude themselves as much as they want but the Miskatonic university isn't the most important college of magic in the world, yes, their papers are interesting but I feel we have advanced much more on more important fields in the Hogsmade University."

He looks tall, with red head and lots of freckles.

"Percy Weasley, at your orders, Gryffindor prefect, 5th year."

Susan looks at him with wide eyes and suddenly she bows slightly. "Well met, mister Weasley."

"Well met, ms....?"

"Bones"

"Oh, well met Lady Bones, I hope your academic performance is as good as your family name, black arts practitioners are far few and in between, if you need anything you can search for me at the student council offices."

"T-thank you." Hey, is that Evelyn... blushing. "I w-will take it into a-account."

Sensing your friend's slowy becoming a nervous ball you decide to step in the conversation.

"Well met mister Weasley, a pleasure."

He looks at you, is that disgust on his face? Whatever that expression was it quickly disappears.

"Ah yes, well met Yamataian. I hope Lady Bones has been able to explain our traditions at the Empire." Is it you or he sounds kinda rude? "Either way, you should get ready, we should arrive at Hogwarts station in 5 minutes or so."

Weasley looks at his watch and grumbles something about the council and promptly dissapears.

"By Morgana, a Weasley talked to us!" Huh. Oh, that's Evelyn voice.

"Are they important?"

"Didn't you told me that politics is important for your family?"

"Hey, that does not mean that I am interested on the stuff, I can barely keep with Yamataian politics!"

Evelyn gives you a judgmental look for a short amount of time. "Well, whatever, the Weasleys are practically the enforcers of the Empire, they normally are great Hit Wizard, Aurors, or even part of the SSS!"

"SSS?"

"The Sacrum Secret Service?"

"Ah, those guys. My dad says they are a troublesome group of people for the Empire."

"What why!?"

"For the Yamataian Empire, not the Sacrum Empire."

"Ah" Ah indeed, according to your dad those guys were involved in the Yamataian Empire expansion over the south-east of Asia, he didn't sound happy about it but he never explained specifics.

"So yeah, the Weasleys." She is still blushing.

"Mmmmmmmmmm" You hum nicely.

"W-what?"

"Does someone have a crush on a certain prefec-"

"Don't say stupid stuff. O-of course not!"

"Shut up Yuki." You laugh. "S-so anyways, have you give a thought on your house?"

"My house?"

"Yeah, your Hogwarts house." You forgot about it, honestly you didn't think much about them. But now that you really think about it.... it is a big deal, many of the connections and friends you were going to make in the future depended on that weird house system.

"I do not know honestly, I've read about the houses and I think...."

[] Slytherin
[]Ravenclaw
[] Hufflepuff
[] Gryffindor

"... would fit me the best being honest."

"Really?"

"Well obviously, have you hanged out with me or not?"

Evelyn giggles. "True."

Suddenly a voice sounds everywhere in the train cafeteria. "This is professor Catalan, please be prepared for getting off the train, we are arriving at Hogwarts. Prepare to leave your baggage at the containers in the station, they will appear at your dorm later tonight, you do not have to worry about them."

Evelyn starts bringing your stuff to ground level. "Let's go Yuki!"

Our priorities thus far had been "Find friend" and "Learn more magic". We've success at both, much more at the magic than the friend but not for lack of trying.
We've expressed disinterest in politics.
We've tried to be good at combat, but flopped miserably.

Ravenclaw ++
Hufflepuff ++
Griffindor +/-(we try but aren't very good at it)
Slytherin -

I think you are monofusing on the actions taking and combining it with a biased look at the houses.
There is strong characterization of wanting to be powerfull, the strongest. That is way more Slytherin ambition than Ravenclaw knowledge for knowledge sake or pure Griffindor courage, and honestly a single friend doesn't a Hufflepuff make.

The Sorting.
Hogsmade Train Station looked enormous, as Hogwarts Express passed by you looked at all the different people arriving by the window, lots of wizards used the magical train system since the floo network or apparating licenses were so expensive but it never truly dawned on you exactly how much people used it.

"We are finally here huh. This is great." Your thoughts were interrupted by your friend.

"Yes, I hope it is everything we are hoping for."

"Same" The train finally came to a stop in an insulated section of the station, not much people were in here compared to the rest of the place. "Evelyn, why there isn't much people here."

"Don't know, probably this space is only for the Hogwarts express, so no one gets lost or something."

"Makes sense." You hum lightly. "But wouldn't be easier if the stu-"

Professor Catalan speaking get ready to get off the train, I repeat, get ready. Hogwarts will not take responsibility in any lost item after the train completes its auto cleaning process, be sure that are your things are always with you. First years wait in the Section C-2 until you receive further instructions. Have a nice day.

"Section C-2?"

"It's probably in the platform, let's go." You excitedly take your stuff from the racket.

"Be careful!"

"Stop being such a mother hen."

"Stop being so stupid then! Your legs need to heal!"

Tsk "Fine!" Evelyn smiles. "Then I guess it wouldn't matter if you carry all my stuff."

"Wait wh-"

"After all, I am a hopeless cripple." You quickly take your cane and start moving outside as you laugh.

"Yuki!" She was going to be mad, but it was worth it.

As you go down from the platform you see the older students quickly putting their belongings in big metal containers next to the train and then taking position into the entrance of different tunnels around the platform with gold plates above them. A1… A2… B2… B3… C1… C2.. C2! Hey that's your destination.

Multiple young looking students like you start shifting around the entrance, it's massive and you easily see hundreds of peers around you, at the very entrance of the tunnel you can see who you guess are, five professors standing around coordinating the students into different lines.

As you see everyone moving around you decide to stand in the second line that formed. You start looking around once more and only see people amicably chatting, you don't see Evelyn at all. You do feel kinda guilty… oh well, it's not like she is going to unfriend you because of this.

"I guess Hogwarts has truly gone to the kennels accepting your kind here squib-born." Wow that was rude, you look towards the voice and you see a dirty blond kid with a furious expression on his face, next to him a taller kid with brown hair and slightly chubby complexion looks with distaste.

"Shut up! It must be easy being given everything in a silver platter. So, shut up or I'll make you, fatty." Oh, you liked him.

"What did you say you piec-"

"What you heard you inbreeded moron! It took me a lot of effort being able to get a scholarship and none of you supremacist idiots is going to deter me from entering."

"Do you have any idea who my moth-" "Silencio" With a simple wand motion the dirty blond kid muted completely the other kid.

"No, and I don't care. Good-bye" The kid quickly moved towards another line disappearing from your sight while one female student tries to remove the charm from the fatty.

"Wow, that's bad ass" You look at your right and see a bushy haired girl with big teeth. You smile.

"I agree" You say.

"W-what" She looks startled.

"Hey, you okay?"

"S-sorry! I was thinking out loud!"

"Calm down, it's okay."

"S-sure."

A few awkward seconds pass.

"Yuki."

"Huh"

"That's my name, Yuki, a pleasure."

"Hermione." She says in a quiet voice, her face looks red.

"Sooooo… Hogwarts huh?" Suddenly, you see the girl's eyes sparkle with joy.

"Yes! Are you not excited?"

"Sure" you reply with a big grin.

"By morgana to think we can study here, did you know that Headmaster Riddle is one of the most important investigators in the field of…" A 180 shift happens, and the girl doesn't look nervous or meek at all. "… and that would be amazing! I've read in Hogwarts a History that he takes one from time to time and the possibility of us having the chance is great b-"

"Huh? What?"

Eeeeep! "Sorry if I talk too m-"

"No no, what did you say about headmaster Riddle? Sorry, I spaced out."

"Ah…. That he… um… takes an apprentice from time to time." She shifted into that weird meek attitude again.

"Oh, I didn't knew that."

"You didn't knew that?! It's one of the main reasons many want to study at Hogwarts!"

"I am not from around here." She looks at you and she seem to have a revelation.

"Oh no, I am so sorry, you are Yamataian right? It's just I forget that there is so much outside the Sacrum Empire and I grew up here my whole life and there are many Yamataian immigrants and I supposed you were from here too and I thought so since you speak so well English and imsorryifioffendedyousomeho-"

"Stop."

Eeeep! What was wrong with her?

"Seriously Hermioneay?"

"Hermione." She says in a quiet voice.

"Sorry, Hermione. I got no problem, chill, I am excited about this whole mess too after all."

"Um, thanks."

"Don't worry, we witches have to stick together."

She smiles at you. "Sorry if I get too excited."

"Nah, its fine, at least you don't pretend to be my mother."

"What?"

"Sorry, internal joke with another friend."

"Okay."

"Don't worry about it."

Suddenly, one of the professors step forward, he looks quite tall and lean, with a dignified expression in his face, small nose, big blue eyes and short black hair in a rater long face. He takes his hand on his wand and casts something that you can't quite hear.

"Can everyone hear me?" His voice suddenly amplified. Some students that were still chattering look towards him and everyone silences. "All of you will pass through one of these portals, it will direct you towards a room with spheres on them, you will form lines to get to one of those spheres which will judge your character and your probable devolvement as people in the future. This is how your Hogwarts house will be chosen, after that it will sort you into one of the five schools of magic based on your core's alignment. Be ready.

Everyone looked nervous as suddenly kids started advancing.

"Core's alignment?" You see a nervous Hermione.

"You don't know about that?"

"My parents were never educated in how exactly magic works. I have no idea." Why would her parents never teach their child about something so important in their world, core alignment determined your opportunities in many professions and your affinities?

You look at Hermione again and she is breathing hard, suddenly your eyes open wide open in realization, they shift towards her left arm and you see the beginning of some character in magical ink in her skin, just below her robes.

That explains a lot.

Tsk "Seriously, the Sacrum Empire is ridiculous in how they segregate squib-borns"

"I-It's for our o-own good…" You look wide eyed at Hermione. "If you don't want tobemyfriendIcomprehendafteral-"

"Shut up Hermione."

"I'm so sorry, really, I a-"

"You don't believe that."

"W-what?"

"You. Don't. Believe. That. The whole it's for your own good thing." You look at her. "Back there you looked at the other squib-born with admiration, didn't you?"

Silence reigned. It was awkward, Hermione didn't lift her gaze again, and your turn towards the portal approached, but before you did so you decided to say something to Hermione.

[] "Don't be a dumbass, you are a fantastic witch, with a friend like you the world will be incapable of stopping you and yours."
Locked since you choose Hufflepuff.

[] "You are annoying you know; you need to reach and grab what is yours, you are capable of greatness."

[] "Please, you reek of intelligence, at least in my eyes, with that brains of yours you will be fine."

[] "You may not believe it, but I see the courage in your eyes, you have a noble soul."

She looks at you before you step trough the portal, you smile at her.

Swosh You feel your body get sucked, it's weird, like if you are everywhere but at the same time you are concentrated in a single spot.

As you step at the other side you see a professor waiting for you. "Miss, go to the sphere at the right, once you are finished leave the room by the door next to me, you will be directed by staff of the student council towards the section of the castle where your house resides. Good luck"

You simply nod at her, you walk towards the right as indicated and there you see it, a medium sized ball in a golden atrium, glimmering with all the colors you can imagine, as you keep getting closer towards it you start to hear whispers.

Welcome childe

Greatness awaits…

…if you believe so.

Delicious, foreign magic…

Your new home awaits little one…

You didn't notice but suddenly your hand is over the ball.

Nothingness.

You look around, you only see white, an infinite space of white everywhere.

"Welcome child."

"HUH!?" You suddenly look around and see an old and worn hat that wasn't there before. "Em… Hello?"

"Hello"

Silence

"…Mr. Hat, where I am?"

"You are at the consciousness of Hogwarts itself, your mind is connected here with mine, sorry if I surprised you, at least you didn't attack me."

"Who are you, what are you?"

"Oh, little old me? I am the sorting hat of course! I am not here physically sadly, but oh well, at least magic is thriving unlike the old days…. Forget the ramblings of this old artifact."

You look at the old hat and he looks more amused than anything "So, how will you sort me?"

"How will I indeed, well, as we introduced ourselves, I was scrambling through your memories and feeling your magical core…"

"WHAT!" You jump in surprise and look fearfully towards the artifact. Oh no, your family secrets, your memories your –

"Relax, I am bound not to reveal anything."

"How can I be sure of that?"

"You really believe Hogwarts would be still standing if whole generations of wizards knew I looked through their memories?"

"Huh… that's true…"

"Sorry about it really, think of it as simple procedure."

"Ok." You still are nervous, but you will give the old hat the benefit of the doubt.

"Good! Good! This will not come as a surprise to you. But I feel you will enjoy your time here if you are a Hufflepuff." Your eyes brighten. "Heh, I knew it, I can see it you, you want to be one of the greatest witches of all times, but you have another ambition, to form a coven, you want to grow alongside your friends, to take from them as much as they will take from you and together shape the world. But above that, you want friends who you can trust and love, and there is not a single thing that can be more Hufflepuff than that, just remember not to deny yourself from people in other houses, they can be great allies and friends in this journey…"

"… So its Hufflepuff?"

"Yes."

"Hah! I knew it, I am never wrong" The hat chuckled.

"Oh well, now, regarding your magical core… oh my… this is quite interesting."

"What it is?!" Your eyes gleam with happiness, finding your core's nature was important in many magical cultures, it was an important rite of passage that marked your future in some ways…

"Well girl, to me is quite obvious that the nature of your core is…."
