[X] Protest Plan: Thumbs and Twiddling

Timeskip until the consequence is gone, Hazou is cleared to do fun things again, and the infrastructure mini-arc is done.

During this time:

Do reasonable things to advance goals of "Winning Asuma's contest", including (but not necessarily limited to):

1) Skysliders
2) Various infrastructure projects
3)Sealing submissions
4) Use data gained from Ebisu's recruits Kagome, and personal experience (Ami training, Lee) to support a proposal to rehaul the Academy system. Highlights: better teachers, better and more individualized teaching plans, basic resources (meals for poor, remedial night classes [outsource to Gouketsu school], etc.), insane crazypants training regimens for the academy seniors. Maybe spend some time the next six weeks to personally help train up another test group as proof of concept (get permission etc.)

Should we win the contest, choose the Dog scroll. If that's not available, let Hazou decide.

[X] Action plan: The quest for the scroll

Yes, I'm voting both. Because frankly I think the risk is being overblown because we do not expect combat, which is the entire reason we chose these specific scrolls. But at the same time I really would like the consequence gone already.

We aren't anticipating combat on the scroll mission. If we were we would be requesting a lot of backup.
Point of order: Oneiros' current plan does include us requesting a lot of backup, including various Jounin and even Tsunade.

edit: granted, it doesn't say 'no go if we don't get any' but it certainly looks like bringing a minor village worth of power with us is part of the intent.

Yeah I just added them in to hopefully soothe some jitters people had. I personally wouldn't bother but it doesn't hurt

@Oneiros ,
Not for me. We're taking the same risk and won't get the scrolls or the rep. Don't do ninja missions without a reward is my MO

Your own plan askes for backup from non-Goketsu ninja, my suggestion was simply to include even more ninja for maximum benefit. All of them want something, Snake isn't going to just join us for free, especially because she is under Asuma's direct orders and we don't even know who she is!

If you were to take the actual start off the mission out of the plan, most people will likely have a lot less problems with it, regardless of opinion.

[x] let ej write what he wants, we trust him

My preference for scrolls for Hazou is Dragon>Arachnid>Kraken>Otter>Dogs>Everything else

Scrolls are still so powerful that *any* of them would be a great power boost so I'm not picky. Plus, if we get the 'wrong' scroll first we get to look into being the summoner for *two* clans, exciting stuff

Well, its not a mission...

[X] Action Plan: Awarded Council Seat, Denied the Rank of Master...

Spend a week on the following. Check with clan, optimize, etc.

Goals: Build a solid case for reworking the academy education system. Hash out said reforms. Ultimately present as contest submission.

-Talk to Ebisu and those students, see whats up.

-- Get data on how things went. Speak to students, etc.

--- See if any would like to assist us as teaching assistants (see below).

-- Take any obvious actions to advance your goals or otherwise address any immediate concerns.

-Grab permission from Asuma to do some testing with academy students.

-- Explain the main idea: we think the Academy can be heavily optimized in several areas.

-- Ask for approximately a dozen Academy seniors to work with.

- Begin Team Uplift Ninja Bootcamp: Week One (Let the inner Mari/Kagome/Gai/Ebisu-senseis flow through you!)

--Engage students in various mock problem solving exercises. Emphasize creativity and out of the box thinking for solutions to open ended questions.

--- Provide positive reinforcement for success (bag of ryo, a handful of minor seals, sweets, whatever).

-- Do a live field test at fhe end of each day by having the students deal with various dangerous (for them) situations (chakra critters, taking out earth clones, whatever).

--Finish with a generous helping of "Exercise til you drop." Feed and ferry exhausted students to bed.

- Keep tabs on other stuff

-- Have your assistant(s) keep you up to date on various projects.

[X] Action Plan: Summoning Structures
Word Count: 391

Run ideas past the clan where applicable.
  • Meet with Ebisu:
    • Act reasonably to achieve our long-term goals.
  • Scroll Hunt:
    • Strategize our investigation of Todoroki Shrine.
      • How are we infiltrating?
        • Pretend to be merchants/religious supplicants.
        • Disguise ourselves as sailors/merchants and travel there via boat.
      • Prepare disguise kits.
      • Do we need additional combat power? Listen to clan recommendations.
  • Estate:
    • Proclaim Uplift as the purpose of the Goketsu Clan.
      • Goal: Give everyone in our clan a reason to go above and beyond for our cause.
      • Main thrust: This world is cold, dark, and unforgiving; but we will give our all to light a path through it.
        • Indeed, we are the vanguards of the Will of Fire, raising our eyes to blaze a trail for all to follow.
      • We, civilian and ninja, must all give everything we have for this better world.
  • Reforms:
    • Projects:
      • Sanitation.
      • Goketsu and affiliate ninja working conditions.
      • Goketsu civilian living standards.
    • Apply the following process to all projects.
      • Team-building:
        • Convene a commission to improve the situation.
          • Sanitation:
            • Include local residents, medical experts, and us.
          • Ninja working conditions:
            • Empower Haru, Atomu, and Reo to conduct review of possible improvements.
              • Suggest they adopt a similar structure.
          • Civilian conditions:
            • Empower civilian leaders in our clan.
              • Give explicit, signed, and legal permission to speak frankly to us with no risk of retribution.
        • Construct the problem.
          • Get every stakeholder (including us) to be able to answer:
            • Why do the problems matter?
            • For whom?
            • Who needs to care more?
            • What will a place with better conditions be like?
              • What would be a measurable end-goal look (or smell) like?
        • Deconstruct the problem into solvable root causes, creating a branching diagram.
          • Create an initial, limited, and detailed plan of action for the more solvable root problems.
            • The plan should be limited to a week.
            • Execute.
      • At the first iteration end time, meet with the team.
        • Evaluate:
          • What worked.
          • What we learned about implementation, assumptions, and the landscape for change.
          • What our next steps are.
        • Make sure to record notes to maintain institutional knowledge.
      • Spread the word about our efforts - and successes! - in various reforms.
        • Goals:
          • Create network of interested people.
          • Create network of authorizers for future reform exports.
        • Key constituencies:
          • Tower
          • KEI
          • ISC
          • Clan members
          • Civilian leaders
      • Draft and implement new plans of action, using recorded lessions, within a timeframe.
  • Start compiling thoughts on the Scientific Method.

[X] Action Plan: Arguing Over Best Girl

Read the first couple books of the Icha Icha series. Attempt to get in a heated argument with Mari and Akane over favorite pairings. Take mental note of what they say in case you can spring it on Ino in a future conversation.
